"Not going anywhere," Daniel echoed. He felt Thomas put a hand on his shoulder. It was casual, subtle, and supportive. Daniel didn't flinch, but he did shift his stance, and nod. "I'll be right here, always, Inari."
He knew now exactly what he was dealing with. He'd seen it in the soul gaze. He'd seen Inari raw and bare before him, and he' been drawn to her just the same. He wasn't going to turn away now, just because he'd seen the truth of it. The opposite had happened, he felt more determined to stand by her side than ever before.
"Be strong, both of you," Thomas nodded through the fence to Harry. He never doubted that Harry would take care of Inari, but the stakes had just been pushed a little higher. Thomas had never wanted the responsibility of Inari's future, but now that it had been taken away from him he felt impotent and somewhat helpless.
