Who: Farrah and OPEN! What: Idle time for scheming When: Saturday afternoon Where: Cambion City Park
Farrah lay on her stomach in a spot of sunshine on the slowly drying grass of Cambion City's park. There wasn't much around her, other than a blanket beneath her to protect her sundress from the debris of the ground, and a worn and battered copy of Atlas Shrugged that she mostly only pretended to read. The fact was, she was much more content to watch the people around her from behind the battered cover and slightly yellowed-with-time pages of her book, letting her wrist loosen and allow the book to sag forward from time to time when she forgot to maintain her facade of a girl simply enjoying what was left of the waning summer sunshine.
Truth was she had come here for a man she'd met in one of her meetings last week, a real cocksucking son of a bitch that had cried on her shoulder in a breast cancer meeting a week or so ago regarding the supposed loss of his wife. Which, his wife had died, though he'd been none too slow about finding a replacement long before his wife had keeled over, and now they were happily ripping through her life insurance money. She wasn't sure why he was attending the meeting for those who were dealing with breast cancer as he certainly only appeared to be mourning his wife for show, but she was damn sure going to find out. He told her he went on a jog through the park daily, but apparently she'd missed him. Ah well.
Since there wasn't much else to do, the people around her all received the same look of welcoming friendliness if they made eye contact, though mostly the only creatures within seeing distance that didn't inspire an internal monologue of idle speculation and in some of the male cases, downright contempt, were the playing children that chased puppies or ran down bouncy balls or frisbees, and some of the single mothers that were there watching over their children.
Still, she had a few hours to kill until her shift at the Orchid started that evening, and she wouldn't mind some company.
