WHO: Meg and Brae WHAT: Pain Killers and Pain Causers WHERE: The Callahan Home WHEN: Thursday, late morning RATING: PG STATUS: Complete
The smell of bacon sizzling on the Callahan's stove mixed with the kitchen's usual fresh apple and pear atmosphere. The pop and fizz of crackling pork in the skillet was lost in the Irish music that played from the counter-top Ipod station to her left, right next to the slabs of bright red tomatoes and a heap of dark green romaine. The bread was open next to it, ready for toasting. Meg had been craving BLT's for an hour--which was entirely too long.
She'd discovered that mild stress could trigger cravings a lot easier now, with the pregnancy. The difference was, now, she could eat anything she damn well pleased, and no one would say the wiser. With a pair of tongs and a hand flat on her very slightly buldging stomach, Meg caught the sound of her brother traipsing in the front door, twenty-one minutes after his latest text. Right on cue.
