Compartment 17
Every other year, this was the Lisa-and-Mandy Compartment, and there was a lot of talking and giggling and lots of food shared between the two and anyone else who stopped in.
This year, there is no Mandy, and that sucks.
Lisa got to the station a little bit earlier than on time, just to make sure that her Ts were crossed and her Is dotted. She looked tired and blotchy and red-eyed, like she hadn't slept much, and though she went around and hugged lots of people and said her hellos, she mostly went straight to her compartment and pretended to be very interested in her new Herbology textbook, though if you caught her at the right time, you might have seen a tear falling off the end of her nose and onto the page.
BUT anyone who talked to her, she would've pretended she hadn't been crying at all (even though it's totally obvious that she has been) and would've offered watery smiles and distracted conversation. Also anyone who gets her distracted with talk about wands will get one or two of the cookies her mother sent her with (and they're chocolate chip macadamia nut).
