HEADMASTER TROUBLE
By Holly Golightly
Following the announcement of Hogwarts reopening in the fall, students have been rightfully wondering where the barrage of school letters are that usually pinpoint the start of the school year.
"I'm used to getting my text books at least three weeks in advance!" says 4th year Ravenclaw student Orla Quirke. "I like to take extensive notes on the first couple of chapters before school starts so I can be prepared. But I can't do that this year; I haven't received my book list. It's so distressing!"
Rest assured, Orla Quirke is not alone. "After the initial announcement that Hogwarts will reopen we've received many owls from concerned students and parents alike," says Wilbur Smeets, a longstanding member of the Hogwarts Board of Governors.
"Hogwarts is many things but it is not disorganized. We are working diligently to find the absolute best candidate for Headmaster/Headmistress before we can issue the standard protocol."
One would think that Deputy Headmistress McGonagall would be next in line. "She's a candidate we are certainly considering," says Smeets. "But all I can tell the general public right now is that we never thought we were going to have to replace the late Albus Dumbledore so soon...rest in peace. Whomever we decide has big shoes to fill, indeed."
When asked about the Ministry's recent law regarding mandatory attendance, Smeets declined to answer further, stating: "There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said."
