Samson: Sits anxiously in front of the fire cross-legged Sully? Sully: After a short delay due to the house-elf informing him of a floo call, somewhat breathless from running to the fireplace Hi, Samson. Samson: Looks relieved to see him all in one piece I heard the report. Was that really you? Sully: Sounds tired Yeah, it was. It was pretty scary. Samson: Frowns How close did they get? Sully: A quick sigh They were touching it. I’ve never felt so violated! Samson: ...They touched it? They actually touched your wand? Sully: Yes! Do you think I should wash it? Samson: I would. Sully: Oh good, I already did about three times. Samson: I think you're probably safe now. I don't know what the Ministry is doing, letting--He pauses, realizing that the Ministry can likely hear him--I just. I just don't know what we are going to do with rubbish in the streets. Sully: Well, I’m sure something will be done about it after this. He hesitates But I don’t intend to go back there any time soon! Samson: If you need to, I can go with you. I protected Tilly the other day. Sully: Sounding impressed You did? That was very gentlemanly of you! I think I have everything I need now, though and if not, I’ll just use owl order. Samson: Yes, well, she was quite nervous at the lot of them so I made sure none of them could touch her. She's so small, you know? And owl order sounds like a sensible option. He pauses Do you think you're ready to go back to Hogwarts? It's quite soon. Sully: I didn’t even think to be nervous! I didn’t think anyone would be so brazen as to try and steal a wand! He takes a deep, calming breath. It is soon. I’m not sure I’m ready to go back yet. Another week or two would be brilliant. Are you ready? Samson: They're desperate, those magic-stealers. They'll do anything to be like us. And it is soon. Very soon. It feels sooner than it ever has. Sully: That’s what Mum says, too. She’s already brainstorming charity ideas for them, like giving them fake wands so they feel better about themselves. But I really can’t say I care anymore… But it’ll be interesting, well, different, without Dumbledore there. It’s hard to imagine. Samson: Fake wands, huh? That's interesting. He considers Sully's words. Yeah, I sort of thought they wouldn't open it, not yet. Although I didn't know what we'd do without Hogwarts. We couldn't just stop being educated. Sully: I’m not sure where she gets some of her ideas. Anyway, I prefer a real-world education! But people seem to be opposed to that. At least there’ll be less classes this year. Samson: Yeah, I'm looking forward to being focused. Sully: A little sheepishly I failed four of my OWLs. Dad wasn’t too happy. But I’m glad I don’t have to worry about Astronomy or Herbology or Potions anymore! Samson: Oh. Well. That's all right. Sully: Shrugging I think it is, too. Samson: You'll get to do what you really want to do after all. Sully: Quite right. I only really enjoy History of Magic and Divination. Samson: Yeah. I love History. Sully: I don’t know why people find it so boring! It’s just Binns’ delivery, but if you can get past that, it’s not so bad. Samson: They just don't know a valuable subject when they see it, that's my thought. Well, I'm glad you're all right. Sully: Exactly. And thanks. I was with Tracey so she took me home and helped. I’m just glad I was there with someone. Samson: Me too. That's not something anyone should face alone. Sully: Right, I’d probably still be passed out in the street and trampled to death if I was alone! Samson: Well, my mum is calling me for dinner so I'd better go. But I'll see you Friday. Sully: Waving goodbye Okay, I’ll see you then! Samson: Bye, Sully! |
