Dear Stella,
I hope your summer's going well, or as well as it can considering the circumstances. Everyone seems to be in an uproar about Hogwarts becoming mandatory, which I'm sure you read in the Daily Prophet today. I guess we'll be seeing each other soon for sure, though of course I was intending to go back all along.
Anyhow, things have been rather lonely here at home since my parents had our Floo grate shut. I do wish that you had a telephone so I could ring you! It's so much easier. That's most of why Anthony's the only person I've seen in a while, though he said something today that reminded me I really need to spend some more time with girls.
So, I was wondering if you'd like to get together sometime this week. I've got my mum to agree that I can make a trip to Charing Cross and the Leaky Cauldron to pick you up and take you home -- she doesn't want us just wandering around by ourselves too long and even said she'd give us money for a taxi (!!!), if you're amenable. It'd just be so much easier if you could Floo here, it's so frustrating, I can't get absolutely anywhere. I'm jealous of everyone who can already Apparate.
Please let me know soon. You know how much I love reading and I'm ready to do something else! That's how desperate I've become.
Love,

Dear Flora,
Hello! I hope this letter finds you well. What did you think of the news today that Hogwarts will now be mandatory? It seems to be causing quite a fuss, judging from the few people I've spoken to and the wireless. My father's been saying all along that the Ministry needs better educational policies (but he says a lot of things and thinks wizards are strange, so), so he's actually pleased but my mum is worried.
Somehow in spite of this, I've managed to agree to let her let me go to the Leaky Cauldron to meet people so they can come back home with me for a bit. I'm going mad since she'll hardly let me go anywhere on my own, and our Floo grate has been shut so I can't even go anywhere else except Muggle London. I don't know how your parents would feel about this, but the offer's there. I've extended an invitation to Stella as well, so we can get together the three of us if you'd like, or just us two. Whatever! I'm flexible.
I'm hoping for your sake that Crabbe Vincent is being bearable.

Dear Ursula,
I hope this letter finds you well. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the news that came out this morning about Hogwarts now being mandatory, and the rather auspicious timing.
Anyway, I'm mostly writing because I recently finished A Broom of One's Own: Women in Quidditch and I thought that it would interest you. It's really good! I've enclosed it so you can read it, but feel free to just return it to me at school if you're not interested or have it finished by then. I've got another book I think you might like to read but I'll wait until we see each other.
Love,
[ As promised, a copy of A Broom of One's Own is enclosed, and filled with notes, underlines, and doodles, as is customary for June's books. ]
