IC/OOC: Slug Club Holiday Party WHO:The Slug Club WHERE: Slughorn's Office WHAT: Slug Club's Holiday Party WHEN: December 14 at 7:00 PM. STATUS: IC/OOC!
Professor Slughorn held the holiday party in his office, which started exactly at 7:00 PM. He would not open the doors to his office before then, so if you arrived before then, you would have to be waiting outside. He was in a pretty festive mood, and had dressed in formal attire -- robes, and a pointed hat, and was pleased to see everyone. He introduced all the Slug Club members to the special guests of the evening, Ms. Glenda Chittock (best known for being the host of Witching Hour and former Slug Club member), Mr. Derwent Shimpling (a wizarding comedian), Barnabas Rosier (Ministry of Magic employee within the Department of Magical Games and Sports and former Slug Club member), and Inaya Shafiq (a popular dragon tamer from Turkey).
There was a dining table set-up, with place cards for everyone and their guests, and he went around asking everyone to introduce themselves and what they plan on doing in the future. He would have interjected many people in the middle, to make related statements to former Slug Club members who were in attendance and talking about their time in the club, and how they would say the jolliest things when around.
Dinner was pretty grand -- an attendee could pick either chicken or duck for the main course. And there was also Greek salad, minestrone soup, pasta salad, minced meat pie, an assortment of desserts (ice cream, candied pineapple, a variety of fruits, chocolate cake, cheesecake) along with many drinks -- coffee, tea, hot chocolate, apple cider, butterbeer, eggnog, mead, and even wine.
He encouraged people to engage in conversations with one another, and to make sure to interact properly, because they could potentially be involved in knowing one another in the future!
There was also music going on in the background for anyone that was in a mood to dance, which Professor Slughorn absolutely was (and he even danced with a few people). The party would have lasted until around 11:00 PM, and everyone who was there would have gotten a signed note from him to make sure that they were excused, should a Prefect stop them for being out-of-bed after curfew.
