Sober was never a good feeling. It was even a worse feeling when her mind was on something it should never have been on. Though she might not trust everyone, or really anyone - save two or three people, she did not think things like this happened either. But she had to think that. Vargis' voice reminded her. There were things Eragos could not do, would not do, and that was now her job. Her uniform was much more immaculate than she would have liked. New, save the mask, but that was as clean as it could have been. The boots were uncomfortable, and at least they partially kept her mind of the one singular thought. Tirad. Tirad. Tirad. Eithne grimaced behind her mask, but since they were walking no one would notice. She was sober, and now the idea that Tirad was selling them out was so firmly planted in her mind that she couldn't think.
Eragos would be terribly angry with her if she looked or acted distracted.
Behind her mask she clenched her jaw and bore through the thoughts. The quicker this was over... she could return to the manor and.. what? What was she going to do? How could she even begin to.. there had to be something. She had to be sure. If she wasn't sure.. if she wasn't right. Then what? She couldn't.. Eithne stopped when Eragos turned around and made her face as blank as she could. The brown cloak covered her uniform quite well, of course her sword was on her hip. She rarely left without it now. It was much more useful than her fists, even if her fingers were still bound in leather bands studded with copper, she kept that under looser leather gloves.
She nodded, to what he was saying. Agreeing with him. She couldn't let anything get in the way right now. The longer this took.. she would never decide without something. But she would never find that something without this getting over with. But then she was doing this sober, and she did not like the sound of this mage, at all. She pushed her mask down so that her face was clearly showing, she disapproved, it was a bit of a lie. She would behave... to an extent. That was the best Eragos could hope for.
