Angels and Greeks, take 3 ANGEL: ::Heaven was, for all that it was written to be a glorious place to spend eternity, rather boring when you were only allowed in certain sections. And those who were outsiders weren't really deserving of the true glories...at least that's how most angels felt. She was no different. There was a bright light in the expanse of nothing, and then there she stood, arms crossed over her chest haughtily as she looked at Hermes.:: You do not belong here, Theos.
HERMES: ::Hermes raised a brow at the Angel as she spoke, tilting his head to the side just enough to look curious, and too much to look like he cared. Still, he smirked softly.:: I was looking for a friend, Angel. But he seems to have gone missing, and that is a right shame. Perhaps you can help me instead.
ANGEL: Nalzorlo? He won't be joining us today. You tread where you don't belong... it's a pesky habit of your kind.
HERMES: Shouldn't leave the door open if you don't want visitors. And seeing as you and your...kind locked me from my home? I don't see why I can't visit from time to time. ::He smirked, though his eyes had narrowed a little. Nalzorlo was...well, what did it matter? He was just a stupid Angel.:: The new one, Xenuphthalizel...I need to know more about him.
ANGEL: ::That earned a sneer.:: What do I look like, wikipedia for the divine?
ANGEL: You go, you wait a sleeping bear, then you want us to tell you how to fix it?
HERMES: I didn't wake anything, lady. ::He sneered at her, before taking a step toward her.:: I would have dropped him to the bottom of the ocean and been done with it. But I get this sneaky feeling that you guys had a hand in putting him in the box. Which means you guys fucked up when you let those wades start to fail. We didn't do anything...time was doing it for you.
ANGEL: You, The others. You all look alike to us. ::Her brow lifted as he approached closer, chin lifting in mild warning.:: Assume what you like, it only makes you look the fool. We do not cause problems on our world. We fix the problems others cause. What information is it you're looking for?
HERMES: Who put him box, and why? Can't expect me to fix a problem if you won't tell me why he should be in the box, why I should tell him it is all your fault.
ANGEL: He was put in his box by those who knew him best. By those who ruled beside him. As for why, you'll have to ask their reasonings.
HERMES: And who are they? Where.....where are they?
ANGEL: Seriously? you haven't done any research? The Mesoamericans.
ANGEL: Look... Hermes, Mercury... Jack..whatever you want to be known as these days...this isn't the library. We don't like you.
HERMES: Sorry, I haven't been sleeping well. My brethren aren't very concerned with how the things they do affect others. ::Still, he wasn't sure he believed the Angel didn't know, or have a hand in locking him up.:: Why are you, and yours worried about him?
ANGEL: We're not here to dole out knowledge because the lot of you are too lazy to pick up a book or google shit.
ANGEL: Look at the chaos he's already creating... flash storms, memory loss, unexplained phenomenon. He's trouble, and if there's something we like, it's peace and quiet.
ANGEL: We told you not to bother him in the first damn place, even if Nal seems to think you're worth warning.
HERMES: Fine...::His eyes narrowed as he looked around.:: Where is Nal?
ANGEL: Oh, look. Another thing to add to the list of services we don't offer - GPS.
ANGEL: Nalzorlo is... he's fine. I'll let him know you care.
HERMES: You said he wouldn't be joining us, makes me think you know where he is. ::Hermes scowled.:: He might be annoying... ::But he was a friend.::
HERMES: ....Thank you. ::He looked...well, a but torn.:: I guess some of you are decent.
ANGEL: We're angels. We're agelic.
ANGEL: Tell me.
HERMES: Tell you what?
ANGEL: Are you all so weak these days that you come begging for the scraps of information we offer? ::decent, scmecent. She didn't like Theoi. they didn't belong.""
HERMES: ::Hermes barked a laugh at that, before stepping up to her.:: You know, sweety....I don't think you understand something very fundemental. Why work for what you can get for free? You told me enough, ::He bent over and kissed her cheek without her ask, his hands grabbing her her arms.::
ANGEL: ::She tightened immediately in his hands, arms pushing up to move him away from her.:: What is wrong with you?!?
HERMES: I like making you blush, because you're a bitch. What's wrong with you?
ANGEL: I'm not a bitch, you judgmental... Gah. I don't believe Nal likes you. He has no sense.
HERMES: He has plenty of sense, ::He looked almost offended.:: Hey, I didn't come in here insulting you. But lets face it, you started it, so you really ought to be able to finish it, shouldn't you? At least Nal gives as good as he takes.
ANGEL: If he had any sense he wouldn't be in trouble for going off and telling you stuff! ::She muttered lightly, arms crossing again, looking a bit younger now that her frosty façade was gone.:: And I wouldn't be here. Do you kiss him too?
HERMES: I might, he is a rather pretty man. ::But his smile faltered, thinking about Nal as he looked away for a moment.:: Figures your God would punish him for sharing information. There was a time, you know, when all thoes got along.
ANGEL: HE is a Just and Fair Lord. ::the awe was evidenced in her voice, though it quickly turned into a grump as he talked about Nal again.:: And he's not that pretty. Nal, I mean... HE is the most beautiful thing imagined.
ANGEL: And you never got along.
HERMES: You know, your race takes your name from me. Angel....Greek, for Messenger. You'd think I could get a little bit of credit here. ::He tilted his head to the side, before stepping closer again.:: My dear, I mean no ill toward you.
ANGEL:You got Nal in trouble! ::Her foot stomped lightly in a most unangelike fashion.:: You're all trouble. That's why HE had to do what he did! And give the people the guidance they deserved. Now you're letting loose things you don't understand, and getting people in trouble, and it's not NICE.
HERMES: Then help fix it, please. ::He gave her an earnst look, his eyes wide and pleading.:: I swear to you that I did not mean for any of this to happen. Nal has been my friend for many years, I wouldn't dream of causing trouble for him if I could avoid it.
ANGEL: You always cause trouble. "The Theos this, the Theos that..." like he forgets what he is. It's why he never gets promoted. Bah. ::She threw her hand up lightly:: We didn't put him in the box. The others did that... I don't know who. They didn't like the way his people worshiped him... and how devout they were.
ANGEL: He was... pretty powerful. So they say.
HERMES: Thank you, for you help. ::He stepped back and bowed to her in his most gentlemanly fashion.:: I will do what ever I can to see that this problem is dealt with. You're help has been unmeasurable, and I am in your debt.
ANGEL: Just... Don't let my b... don't let Nal do anything really stupid, ok? And look. Those a lot higher than us? They don't want this guy around. No one will really say, but he makes them uneasy.
HERMES: I gathered as much. ::He paused and smiled at her softly.:: And I will do my best to keep Nal from trouble, I give you my word. I will do what I can to deal with our friend, Xenuphthalizel.
ANGEL: ::She nodded lightly.:: I wish I had a better answer for you. Even the gossips are tight lipped. They took his people and his civilization, so I don't know what his deal is. But... Be careful?
HERMES: I will, be. And I will see what his kin can tell me. ::Assume he could find them. If they hadn't made a show when he woke up, well...But he had something. Now to just kill in the blanks.:: Farewell, Mr Dear.
ANGEL: Hey... do you really kiss Nal, too?
HERMES: No. ::He smiled at her.:: I only kiss the prettiest of Angels.
ANGEL: ::and there, finally, was the blush.:: Now go, before I'm clipped too.
HERMES: ::He bowed to her, politely.:: Of course, my dear. ::And with that, he was gone.::
