His steps had been slow last night because of his doubts and weariness but tonight, they were such because of the rising oddness in his chest. It was waring inside of him and he just didn't know what to do about it. He was even sure why there were any kind of feelings about a client he had only seen once. It had just been sex, good sex, but sex nonetheless. So why did he feel like there was something else he was missing? Something extra? He felt like an idiot and he didn't like it, not one bit. The second before he knocked on the door, he found that he was clenching his jaw tight enough to make it crack and was forced to loosen it before he raised his fist. He was acting like a spaz, all over the map and there was literally no reason for it.
A small shot zinged through his chest as the other acted so causally towards him but he had to have expected it, that's what happened when you were an escort, or a hooker even. It certainly was intriguing that he was having a change of heart for his job over one night he could barely remember the details of. He'd get over the switch, he knew he would, as soon as he got back home and checked the messages he was sure to have after being passed out for an entire day. It was just this one time.
Instead of showing any of the conflict on him, he followed Lincoln into the place once more, that easy smile on his face again. It wasn't the slow lazy grin he had given the other man last night but that had been his own brand of thing, not the generic one. "Yeah, I'm sorry about that, I was just overly tired last night." His voice had the edge of laughter to it, as if saying the other knew exactly why he had been so tired. Little did he know, remember, the other man knew exactly why he was so tired. Blood loss did that to a person, especially to that degree. He had chocked up his wanting the entire thing of orange juice to having used up all his energy, knowing it had to be the only reason. Nothing else happened last night that could lead to such a thing. "The only way to have gotten a hold of me after would have been calling the company and asking for me directly." There was that weird twinge again.
"I don't think I could forget such an interesting building." He added after a moment, still standing against the now closed front door. Was he supposed to have forgotten the address? There was the awkward doubt again and though his smile stayed right were it was, hands in his jeans pockets, his heart picked up just a little. He didn't forget about breaking one of his rules and kissing Lincoln before leaving last night with his request of calling for him again sometime.
