How are you and Dad? I'm doing fine. There hasn't been any air raids on the school for a while, which is a relief. Army recruiters came by yesterday to give information to those who are interested in enlisting and some of my friends enlisted. No, I didn't, even though I did talk to the Healer in charge of the Healing divison.
But that's not the reason I'm writing this letter. I've been really worried about Julie. She just had her baby, her husband's away, and you've heard about her sisters, right? Is there any way you can visit her? Or maybe you have before -- but if you see her again, please give her a hug from me, and tell her everything will be fine.
I miss you and Dad a lot and I'm looking forward to coming home for good next summer.
Love, Leonie.
Dear Julie,
I'm sorry for not writing sooner. I heard the news and I'm sorry for your loss. I'm really glad you're all right, even if it makes me feel selfish for saying that, but I really am. If you need anything at all, do let me or my mother know. I've written to her and asked her to visit you some time.
