Dear Trudy,
Your mother and I have received some troublesome letters from your school this week and wanted to write and make sure you are doing all right. Your Head of House and then your Headmaster have both written about bullying and attacks and, as we have heard nothing of this from you, we thought you should know that, as always, you can write to us about anything.
Headmaster Dippet assures us that these incidents are not serious but we cannot help but feel that if they have required not one but two letters home to parents, there must be some cause for concern. Have you ever felt threatened at school, Trudy? Is there anyone who has ever bullied or injured you? Your mother and I worry about you so far away and during such times.
Please remember that we support you and never want to see you hurt. If you ever feel that you are being bullied or are in any danger, please go to one of your professors immediately. Do not worry about keeping face or standing up for yourself or any of that like. Your mother and I have the utmost faith that you will make the responsible choices if you are ever in difficult situations like the ones your professors are writing home about.
Stay safe, darling.
With Love,
Your father.
