Antoshka, Your father and I have hearing rumours from several other parents that there have been a series of odd incidents in the lavatories at Hogwarts, if mostly involving However, I will be very disappointed if I hear these incidents are true and the headmaster would not let you tell me about them -- and, even worse, you did not stand up as a member of society to say something to him. I am writing a letter to him and the deputy headmaster next, though I obviously expect you to speak with them yourself if you have yet to do so. I did not raise you and your brother to be dependent on your mother to do everything for you, after all, and you will be going away with the armed forces in a month. Mama |
Dear Headmaster Dippet and Deputy Headmaster Dumbledore, I am writing to you today as a mother of a student currently attending your school -- my second son, Antonin Dolohov, is a sixth-year Ravenclaw prefect, and perhaps you remember his brother, Marek, a Slytherin who left in the spring of 1933. As a parent who decided to send her children to Hogwarts rather than Durmstrang, despite a long family history there, mostly for safety reasons in light of Grindelwald's rise to power on the Continent, I am certain both of you respectable men can understand why it is of great concern to me when I hear stories of students being mysteriously attacked in what so many claim to be the safest place in Britain. As my son has failed to inform me about these incidents himself and I had to hear of this from other parents, I am inclined to believe there is some exaggeration occurring, possibly as my fellow Britons wonder why Grindelwald's air raids on this country have suddenly ceased. I should very much like to know the truth for myself from the two most senior masters on the staff, and if there is truth to these stories, then I must admit disappointment in this information being kept secret from myself and others as parents who have entrusted our children to your care in these times. If I do not receive a prompt response about this matter, I will be taking my questions directly to the Board of Governors, whom I am certain will be very interested in hearing about this. Thank you.
