zorya Zorya was layin' on Ani's bed, her head hanging over the side as she watched the munchkin pack up her things. She still had all of her things neatly tucked into her bags, and so, nothing to do but 'help' Ani pack. Which really, just meant she kept playing with everything Ani wanted to pack.
At the moment she had the mallet she'd given to the other girl in her hands. "Ya sure do got a lotta stuff here Munchkin," she grinned at her. "Sure ya gotta 'nough room in those bags o' yers for it all?"
tanis Tanis looked over at her 'older sibling,' shaking her head. "Y'know, y'ain't bein' too helpful..." she smirked, throwing a few things into a bag. "'B that's what the the mallet is for, aint it?"
She wondered how this had started... she could have sworn that Zorya had offered to help... but at the mpoment, it didn't really make a difference. The questionable things to pack would be the books... what would be best? On their sides or straight up and down?
She walked around the bed, talking a few photographs down from the wall. "Not all'a the stuff tha's here b'longs to the buildin' owner," she winked. The photo was of her and Zorya and her mother back on Deadmoon (as Tanis had always called it). "Can't be leavin any'a my stuff be'hind now can I?" she grinned handing the photo to Zorya. "Yer upsidedown, bu' dun drop it, Zory," she grinned as she tossed some more clothes neatly folded into her bag.
zorya Zorya smirked back, "bein' plenty helpful. Honest." She chuckled, shaking said mallet before sitting it down next to her.
"Nah, can't be havin' that." Zorya smiled lookin' at the photo. Then laughed at Tanis, "bein upsidedown ain't much different then bein' rightsideup is." She sat up then, still holding the photo. "Got a bit o' room in my bags still, ya need more space." In reality, she had a nearly empty bag still as she didn't have all that many possessions she drug around. "Yer welcome to it." Then with a grin, "see, bein' helpful," and she layed back down.
tanis "Well, while I would call that bein' helpful, it aint so much you as it is yer bag," she said with a laugh, throwing a stuffed doll at her friend, being careful not to hit the framed photograph. "An' t'tell ya the truth, I always had a suspiscion tha' ya were kinda upside down t' begin with..." she smirked.
She put a few more items into the bag, trying to decide what was worth bringing... of course she wouldn't be back here again, so everything would be coming again. She walked to the closet and pulled out an old outfit that she'd always loved, and that still fit her - holding it up to herself. "It's amazin' that this still fits," she said shaking her head and pulling it away from her then putting it neatly into the bag. "Haven't quite had that as long as I've known you, but still," she smirked.
She then turned around again and looked back at Zorya. "Well I have to say that you look comfortable. She took the photo from her friend, tossing the doll onto her chest. "Here, have fun." she smirked. If Zory wanted to act like a child, why not?
zorya "My bag, so.. still me bein' helpful." Zorya didn't bother trying to duck from the doll, as it was just a doll, instead she laughed when it hit her. She stuck her tongue out at Tanis, still grinning.
"Just means ya ain't lookin' much different then ya did back then," she smirked back.
Zorya, never one to disappoint, picked the doll up and started dancing it around. This only lasted a minuet or two though and she was sitting up again, placing the doll with the mallet. "Alright, munchkin, what'cha wantin' me ta do?"
tanis Tanis' amusement knew no bounds as she saw her playing with Margo the doll. A laugh flooded the room and she shook her head at her friend. "Well seein' as ya' already got me t'laugh, what more can y'do? 'Cept maybe gimme a hand with packin up the books... an extra bag'll be real helpful."
She smiled as she pulled a few books out of the shelf and packed them in another bag. "B'lieve it or not, there'll be a bookcase waitin' for me when we get where we're goin'." she grinned.
zorya Zorya smiled, happy to have made her 'lil sis' laugh. She arched a brow and teased, "ya sure the two of us can get 'em all?" Then wiggled off the bed, the movement surprisingly graceful. "Gimme a sec, gots ta get it."
She moved into the other room where her bags were quickly and grabbed the one, bringing it and herself back into the room.
"Bookcase? S'good.. Ya need 'least one." She quirked her brow then, "how ya gettin' it, anyway?"
tanis "Ah, sure, 'm sure!" She said with a smirk. She'd always sort of been jealous of the way that Zory moved. She did it so naturally, when Tanis was largely a klomper... clomped around. There wasn't really anything that she could do about it, after all. She had her mother's grace, but Ani was more of a... well it was simple to say that Zory's grace was just as evident in her fighting.
At the question about the bookcase Tanis got a glint in her eye. It was sort of a taunting 'I know something you don't know' look. "Ohh, I have my ways," she said with a wink as she started to load the books up, handing them to Zorya from the shelf that had been in the apartment when she'd gotten there.
zorya Zorya narrowed her eyes just a touch (Not in the scary way she did with some folk, but in the 'what're you up to, and tell me now' way she often reserved just for Tanis), she hated when Tanis got that look in her eyes. "Got yer ways, hm?" She took the books she was handed, tucking them into the bag. Careful not to hurt them as she knew how important they were to Tanis.
tanis The care her sister was taking with her books brought a smile to her face. "Yes, got my ways, Zory," she grinned. "An' yer gonna be so surprized..."
She walked around getting some more books as she smiled. "Y'know how yer always tellin' me I ought'a make new friends? Well I c'nected with someone we're gonna be with when we get on the new boat." she grinned widely.
zorya Zorya's lips were tugging into a grin already as she quirked her brow.
She nodded, not worrying about Ani talkin' with strangers or anythin', as her sister was a smart one. "An' they offered ya a bookcase?" She titled her head, then smiled, "shiny of 'em. Tell me more."
tanis Tanis looked at Zorya for a moment before shaking her head and sighing amused. "Lik' anyone'd give 'way a bookcase." she laughed. "Wound up talkin' t'one'a the crew through them Cortex journals. 'Parantly he's from Paquin. One thin' led to another an' talkin' bout hobbies an' th'like." she grinned. "Said his name was Oddball. Interestin' name, Probably nickname at that but he said he'd make me a shelf. Mighty helpful and seems like a nice guy." she smiled.
"Gotta tell ya, I'm lookin' forward t'gettin on this boat more 'n more."
zorya "From here? S'pose that's why tha Captain 'sided to land here?" Zorya tilted her head a touch, pausing in loading the books to looked over at Ani. "Yeah? An' what sort o' hobbies did th' Oddball fellow like?" She gave a little huff of laughter at the interestin' name comment. "'Cause Tanis, or Zorya fer tha' matter, be so plain?"
"Me too. Nice as this rock here's been, hate bein' landed fer so long." Going back to packing, "makes my skin itchy."
tanis Ani shrugged and sent Zorya a look that said 'I don't know... maybe' before putting some more books in from the shelf... realizing that there were a few that she might have to return to the shop before they left. Not because she'd stolen them - she'd been taught better than that - but they'd been lent to her and she'd be damned if she wasn't going to do the right thing and try - at least - to return them...
"He didn' talk too much 'bout his own hobbies, Zor'." Tanis shrugged and passed a few more books into the bag. "An' wha's so plain 'bout us? 'Course Deadmoon's kinda plain. Sure ain't the Core, but here?..." she sighed shaking her head, placing the books to be returned to the side.
"Y'could never stay in one place fer too long," she sent a pointed look Zorya's way. "'ts why ya left Deadmoon t'begin wit." she smirked at this knowing she was absolutely correct. "Nothin' t'blame ya fer there tho."
zorya Made a little 'hmm' noise at that. "Wonder why." She shook her head, "nothin' 'bout us be plain. S'what I'm sayin'." Zorya shrugged. "Core ain't so special, really. Much 'fer Deadwood, personally. Nicer folk 'round home."
She smirked at her long time friend. "'Course. Just like ya can't go long with out o' yer books."
tanis She couldn't help but laugh at this. "Bu' that b'cause its home. Not cuz 'ts necessarily nicer. Bu' yeh gotta point."
she sighed and ahook her head. In truth the books were finally getting packed, but she wanted to get to the shop before it closed for the day. "I'm gonna reckon that y'dun wanna stay here righ' now either." she laughed. "Gotta brin' these back" she indicated the books she'd set aside.
zorya Zorya grinned, shaking her head. "core planets be too fancy fer my taste."
"Ya reckon right, munchkin!" She laughed too, nodding her head. "Walk ta the book place sounds just right. Get us both outta here fer a bit."
