Who: Emerald, Gwenny Where: Lorrayna Phoenix- Heading to the main Engine Room When: May 9th, about 5AM Why: The Engines need manually set to full burn in order to get to the injured folks. Rating?: PG Status: Complete
drunkincapngal Emerald was headed down the corridor to the main engine room to set the manual controls to a full burn. Emerald n' her ship needed to get to the Burnham Quadrant quicker than before. Switching the engines would cut the travel time a little more than half. And it had to be set manually because of security protocols that had been installed. Commands are given from the bridge that unlocks switches in the Engine room and then you switch them manually. Its why when ever in a real hurry, or a chase an engineer or mechanic with the no-how needs stationed in the room. Also makes it so a single person couldn't steal the ship very quickly; since it was a bit of a walk from the bridge to the aft engine room. The reason Emm was doing it her self this morning was cause even though she needed to get the ship moving quicker, Emerald didn't want to bother Akira with it cause she wasn't even sure if he was up yet, and it was a easy enough task.
gunner_gwenny Gwen was up already, she was bored and wanted to just look around and make sure everything was fine on the ship. after a long while of just surveying the ship and wondering around Gwen thought she should make herself useful and head down and check all her guns and make sure everything worked like new. she did not think we needed any ammo, but there is no harm in just going over inventory as well.
As she walked to the back of the ship after checking on the two large forward cannons before checking on the smaller guns in the wings she saw Emm not that far up the hall. Gwen remembered hearing someone pass in the hall before she had exited the Gun Chamber. Gwen had not worried about that cause they were well hidden and only a few people knew where they were. Now she knew it was Emm. Gwen quickened her pace to catch up with her oldest friend and captain.
"Hello there, whatcha up to this early in the morning?" She loved to joke around with her. After all they were like sisters.
drunkincapngal "Howdy girly." Emerald said in a chipper tone, sounding a little bit like Oddball. "Aww you know me, I love me the sunrises we have in the mornings." She said in a very serious manner. Then puffed out her cheeks and started laughing. "Walk with me... headed to the Engine room. I came across a Wave, by a man, who we are goin' to help out. In return he gives as his service and if we hold his ship in our cargo bay he'll pay us a good rate... even offered over some rum n' whiskey." Emerald told Gwen in her very matter-o-fact business tone. "Only bit bein' I think, well at leased his two companions, are dieing of their wounds." She tilted her head curiously, leaving it just at that not explaining a step more. Not yet anyhow. She was weird in her conversations. Of course she cared a lot more about their lives than she had just made it sound, which really seemed like she was only in it for the pay; which wasn't true.
gunner_gwenny "Well how soon until we get there? We don't want them Dieing on our account. Does Dori know about this. Who are they do we know them from past jobs?" Gwen was kinda rambling on with her questions but she did not like death or being involved with the death of others. She had seen to many people she saw close to her die in the war. "Where are they, how long are we goin to get there?" Gwen was asking and not letting Emm talk, but then stopped for her to answer after realizing what she was doing.
drunkincapngal "Whoa... whoa hold up Mrs. Motor." She stuck her tongue out at the gal. Once I sent the engines to a full burn, it should take us 36000 seconds to get the ship with the men." She had figured out how long it would be before she left the bridge. "We have never worked with them in person, but the man Vladmir Sentinus was a known pirate in my uncle and grandfather’s day. He formed an underground faculty, Remington-6, it was outfitted to seem as a Mining Company on Silverhold. But really was and still is far as I know an underground gunship construction facility. His son Gregorio Sentinus, I know who he is. Don't think you woulda heard of him. Maybe you know of Blackwing?" She perked a brow in question. "Basically Mei-Mei he is a supposed assign of Alliance men." That's all she said on the two of them; even though she knew a bit more. "There is a last man, ahh... Mr. Wheeler, who I know nothing about at the moment."
She spotted the door and smiled. "Lets see... No Dori doesn't know yet. Plans on finding her after the engine bit. And ohh, yes… They are Burnham Quadrant, not far off of where we were headed. 'the only survivors of a raid on the cargo vessel they were traveling on.' ... It sooo has to do with the job." She said in a matter-o-fact voice again. She winked at Gwen and moved on into the Engine room. Skipping slightly like she often does.
gunner_gwenny Gwen paused a moment. she recognized the names, even the Wheeler guy's. She did not know exactly where from though. "oh... you could have just said ten hours, ya know." She knew Emm liked to be complicated like that, but that was one thing she loved about her. "I love when Lorrayna goes full burn, she looks so pretty." Do you expect us to have to play with anyone when we get there?"
drunkincapngal "I coulda, but then it woulda not been so fun... would it aaah?" Emerald smiled, "Like a Phoenix!" she grinned although a sad little gaze was hidden in her eyes. "I ain't sure. If the raiders took what they wanted, then I don't think so. But can never be too careful. I'll have Walker take all the protocols needed." Emerald moved over to the controls, switching over the needed levers to activate her pulse drive and throw her into a full burn. The whole bird vibrated from the wings, Lorrayna Phoenix has two separate pulse drives located in her wings, so her she accelerates faster than perhaps other ships of similar size. It takes a moment for the Grav drive to catch up with the changes, resulting in a spinning dizzying effect to anyone not accustomed to the increased speed. All her present crew though should be use to the shift; it had taken Oddball several times before he stopped vomiting every single time it was activated.
