Welcome to the Brightstar Reserve, nestled in the Beartooth Mountains of Montana. It's employees are responsible for a large and diverse group of beasts, beings, and plant life. Located across Hercinia Lake from the small, unincorporated municipality of Snowcap, the Reserve is far from the unrest in cities like New York, Salem, Chicago, and Monterey, just as everyone likes it.

However, just like the latest trends, politics and discord never seem to stay confined to the cities for long. Beings and those with cross-species lineage are pushing back against generations of regulations and even deeper entrenched suspicions. Leaving one to ask, what does it mean to be magical?

As a mod, please allow me a few moments to gush about how great all of you are. When i started putting together Brightstar I had no idea how it would turn out. I have modded games in the past, but I've always felt like it was something was lacking because I am not your plot person. I make things pretty. But you guys have gone above and beyond my expectations. I had a vague plan for things through August, but now we are almost in October. So I think that's almost a qualified 100% fresh success. Or something.

But as many of you have seen, we have slowed way down in posts and general interaction. Discussion about the next "chapter" or "season" of the game has sort of fizzled as personal plot lines have reached their natural conclusions. While I am in no hurry to close or shut down the game, I also don't want to carry this on past the point people have lost interest.

So we have a couple of options:
A) This turns into a GPSL. I will make the password available for the mod journal to current players so they may add people as they wish. But I won't be doing any formal upkeep of the pages.

B) I set a formal closing date of October 15th. Everything will remain in place, but no new posts will be able to be made.

C) We come up with a new plot to start a new chapter of the game. This could mean dropping some or all of your characters and creating new adventures. The game would likely close for a few weeks to allow for this and other bits of refreshment.
It should also be noted that it has come up in the Brightstar chat that we should explore the concept of Wizzywood. Tracey has gone ahead and put together a game based on that concept that would serve as a semi-official sequel to Brightstar. Please go check out Wizzywood. There will be a lot of the same world building.
