Plot for 7/20 to 8/10
log prompts for plot escalation
how this works
Below are six log prompts to allow players to get their characters involved without the pressure of a IC/OOC timeline. There are a few guidelines, but otherwise just have fun!
All logs must be set between
July 20
and
August 10
.
Logs should be posted no later than
August 10
. (I mean, you
could
post it later, but there will be more fun things you wanna do, so get it in earlier!)
Rather than an open character slot, each prompt has a character category taken from the
cast page
. Openings listed as CATEGORY/CATEGORY are open to either of those and are offered to attempt to balance by category size.
All physical locations mentioned in these logs will be affected by the described magical effect until the end of this plotline in mid-Aug.
Claim only one to start, but if you finish and post that log, please come claim another!
Two
WILDCARDS
are available and can be used to claim any slot
only
if you do not have a character who fits one of the remaining open ones, OR if the only people left in a category have already claimed a log.
log one
Setting:
Outdoor creature enclosure of your choice (whatever makes the most sense for the characters)
The Hook:
When one of the creatures uncharacteristically corners
MALIK ANSON
,
MIA WRIGHT
has to help them out of that bind; however, when
MIA
tries to use a simple spell to distract the creature, the effect is 10X what was intended, causing an even bigger problem.
log two
Setting:
The Crimson Kestrel
The Hook:
MATEO SANTIAGO
and
CATE ADLER
(either together, or simply sitting next to one another) are having a drink and biding by the bar's current no-magic rule when someone behind them attempts to apparate. While said person is cursing the fact that he went nowhere,
CATE
realizes she is bleeding...from what looks like a Splinching wound. (Severity is entirely up to you, but you
do
have a handy
MATEO
right there....)
log three
Setting:
Meeting location of your choice (Reserve, town, or residential)
The Hook:
FARRAH SPELL
and
NORA SANTIAGO
agreed to meet at this location to hang out.
FARRAH
arrives on time and is there long enough that he/she starts to get irritated, but waits it out.
NORA
arrives half an hour late and completely oblivious to this fact—because he/she literally lost half an hour somewhere between their front door and the meeting location, but did not feel the passage of that time.
log four
Setting:
One of the characters' houses/apartments
The Hook:
While hanging out at the house/apartment, playing a game of wizard's chess,
MEDICAL
and
FACILITIES
gradually start to notice that they feel off, even if neither is mentioning it. Each move of the pieces is generating more and more magic in the air, and while the board is behaving normally, other things start to be...well, not so normal. Any other magic object in the house begins acting out on its own, to hilarious and/or disastrous effect. (Note: If either character is a Being, he/she will be able to stop each object with a
Finite Incantatem
. If a non-Being attempts this, it will only make things worse.)
log five
Setting:
Main Street just as a rainstorm hits
The Hook:
WILL MOODY
and
FREDDY AND IRIS ADLER
meet as they're both rushing to get under a store awning during a sudden and unexpected thunderstorm. They chat while waiting for the storm to pass and are oddly
very
open with each other. It doesn't seem odd at the time, but later they will probably wonder.... (Note: Say hello to
Veritaserum
rain!)
log six
Setting:
Small park just outside Reserve wards
The Hook:
JJ MONROE
and
ANT GOLDSTEIN
are enjoying a bit of nice summer weather (either together, or encountering one another there). They feel a strange pull to enter the treeline that borders the Reserve wards, despite knowing they're impassible. One of them makes the mistake of wandering too close and stepping on a
large patch of black soil
, causing them to nearly faint. Time to get the hell out of Dodge and report this stuff, right? (Note: At least one character must be non-Being. Beings are not affected by anything described here.) (Note 2: If your non-Being character is crazy enough to want to screw around more with this stuff, ping me. 😈)
