He shook his head. "That's not how it normally works," he said, looking between Jason and Sophie. "They have their stupid dominance fights after dinner, like....like some kind of fight club, basically." It was fucking stupid, and he took part every year because someone had to, and it sure as hell wasn't going to be his father.
Teo was less diplomatic than Jason when it came to turning Sophie down.
"No," he said, simply. He didn't want Sophie seeing them fight, didn't want her watching him and Jason tear lumps out of one another. Because they would; they had to, if Jason was going to get his fighting up to a standard where he could beat his uncle. He didn't want Sophie worrying over either of them. She would anyway, but if she didn't see the fights she didn't have to face the reality of it. He was uncomfortable enough with the idea of Rachel watching, but they needed someone to keep watch for them.
