As if she wouldn't have washed Kayla's hand if she had managed to get ahold of his grubby hair. As he rambled on about everything, she just rolled her eyes and shook her head. It wasn't as though she were taking every person who wandered into the shop under her wing and trying to fix them. AJ just seemed like he really needed a friend. Before she got the chance to defend her actions anymore, though, her brother had grabbed one of the boxes of donuts and ducked out. Typical.
"Your unnca Colin is silly, isn't he, little miss?" she asked Kayla, bending down to kiss her daughter on the check before turning back to the stacks of files she had been going through. Grabbing another donut out of the remaining box, she took a big bite of it. "I'm gonna have to get you to tell him how much we like new people sometime soon, huh?" In the playpen, Kayla just watched her mother with big eyes for a few minutes before grabbing for her toys.
