Conversation with anyone and everyone had never been a problem for Caitlin even if it was just a little bit harder to really connect now. But talking about little things with customers would always be a breeze. Plus everyday conversation kept her from dwelling. Probably another reason Colin like her to come into the shop every now and then. "Was it a pretty drive? That's the sort of thing I've always thought would be fun, cross country drive. See all the sights, especially all the little, cliched tourist things like giant frying pans and the like," she prattled, seamlessly and completely taking control of the conversation.
"And don't worry about the truck. If it can be fixed, Colin will fix it. If it can't, he'll tell you straight up. And then he'll probably suggest a car for you. It won't be a Toyota, though." The news about their reputation in town made her smile even brighter. "Where do you work? I feel like I need to send a cake or cookies or something over there to thank your co-workers for being so nice. I mean, that's exactly the sort of word of mouth we want so I'm thrilled to hear that." It was one thing to know that they did a good job and another to hear about it. Hearing reviews like that always perked her up even more.
Straight black. Right. Nodding, Cate poured the brew into a ceramic mug. Styrofoam was bad for the environment and costlier in the long run. As she handed it over, she grinned again. "Thanks. Miss Kayla's first birthday is coming up soon. She'll be a year in December. Time goes so fast it seems. You have any kids?"
