It Was Karaoke Night
Who: Open
What: During the Reems interview
When: 10.29.12 - Monday Evening
Where: Dead Until Dark
Warning: Language and potentially violence.
It was karaoke night, and karaoke night was supposed to be fun. However someone had had the bright idea to turn the fucking television on. No, not just turn it on, but put it onto the political broadcast. Politics in a bar were never a good idea as far as Hanna was concerned. Actually politics anywhere a large group of people might be was a bad idea because people got really worked up about things like politics and religion and, well, sports. She was hard pressed to say which of the three was the stupidest thing to get upset over.
That was, of course, before the interview started. As soon as the preternatural "issue" was mentioned, the whole place got silent. The more that Reems moron talked, the more tense Hanna got until there was a slight shudder running through the whole bar as cups swayed and clacked together seemingly of their own accord.
"Bastard," she muttered under her breath, arms crossed. No one seemed to be drinking. No one seemed to be moving or talking or thinking. Everyone was just watched the television, tense, waiting, probably unbelieving that there were such people in the world. The message was a stab, a reminder of how "normals" would always, always, always hurt the rest of them. She gritted her teeth, and a door rattled.
