Bif did not look impressed. He looked something between a combination of shocked and relieved. At least Gord-- same old Gord from bak at school-- was friendly. And amusing. And he didn't mind being either of those things: Tad was unintentionally funny, in a tragic sort of way. It was easier to laugh with Gord.
"Hello, Gord," he said coolly. "I didn't manage to catch up with you prior to the speech: how have you been all these years?" It was civil, businesslike warmth, laced with a genuine curiousity. What had Gord been up to? He ignored the topic of Derby, wondering how Tad would explain it to someone who wasn't... him.
