Tad didn't miss a beat. After five years of fielding questions like this, albeit not so bluntly, the answers came readily. He laughed. "I think you misinterpreted the reason why I was calling out for him. You see, Derby told me he preferred to be alone tonight, but he forgot his lighter on the table. I was simply trying to see if he'd left yet so I could return it to him."
He pulled out a solid-gold lighter and a monogrammed cigarette case, flipping open the latter and offering it to Bif.
"As for your second point, I'm sure I don't know what you're implying, but indeed I am enjoying myself quite a lot." He smiled.
