Fuck Those Bitches at Eden
Who: Mere and Kevin
Where: His home that he shares with his sisters
When: Monday Night
Mere had just written a new song and wanted to share it with Chloe. So, she figured that she would drop by the girl's house after sunset and show it off to her. She thought that it was pretty good, after all. So, guitar in hand, she drove over there and knocked on the door. When no one answered right away, she tried to knob to find that it was open. With her own standing invitation, she was able to walk right inside. "Hello? Anyone home?" she called out, walking inside of the too huge for three people house.
Honestly having enough on his mind to not really process who was there, Kevin called out from the game room: "She's out right now... took Lucy to the mall." The tall young man was getting ready to go to Eden for the evening, and was lacing up his boots. He had on his black eyeliner, had his hair fixed up, and was wearing a black and gray ensemble of leather and vinyl mixed with some straps and buckles.
Mere set her guitar to the side as she saw Kevin come out. "Well, someone's all decked out in finery tonight. Going somewhere fun?" she asked, leaning against the door, effectively blocking the exit for the moment.
Awwwwkward. Kevin met her eyes and felt himself look away. He'd always had a bit of a crush on the girl, since he met her a year ago hanging out with Chloe. But now... while she was older, and more beautiful than ever... the whole vampire thing kind of freaked him out. By now, the supernatural didn't really startle him... but the change in her just made him a little uneasy. "Hey, Meredith... how've you been?"
"I've been doing just fine," she said to him, looking him over. "Doing well with music, life, and everything. Well, unlife, maybe, but you get the picture." She smiled at him. She couldn't help it. She was starting to enjoy making people feel a little uncomfortable around her. She was technically a vampire. Maybe everyone shouldn't feel at ease around her. She still felt herself to be too pretty to be too scary, though.
"Glad to hear it." His voice, as usual, was far too sweet and gentle to be coming out of a normal guy. "Chloe said you guys are really gonna sound great when you start playing shows again."
"Well, that probably won't be until Skylar has her baby and recovers from it," Mere said. She wasn't even sure how far along Skylar was off the top of her head. "We'll probably start practicing again soon, but we don't want her to go into labor during the middle of a show or anything on us."
"Be a hell of a stage show though." He said, teasingly. "You're in the middle of a solo, and WHAM, there's the baby."
"Well, the little kid would certainly get the biggest welcome in the world," Mere said with a laugh. "I doubt Skylar would be thrilled to give birth in front of an audience, though. Not really her style."
For a moment, Kevin grew very quiet, very serious. Then he finally looked right into the girl's eyes. "Meredith... we've always been cool with each other, and I don't have anything against you now that you're... a vampire. But I have to say this anyway. Please... look out for Lucy, ok? She's a good kid, and I don't think she really, totally grasps what you are yet. How dangerous you can really be."
She arched an eyebrow at him, but didn't say anything for a moment. "I'm not going to hurt Lucy," she told him. "I never would. Would never consider it. I don't think she really understands it, either, though. I'm definitely tempted to kick the crap out of Anne Rice. Do you know how many kids approach me and say they've got it all figured out?"
"Probably half the kids I see floating around Eden at night." He admitted, laughing.
While it made getting food easy, it irritated the fuck out of her to hear these kids call her a 'lonely one' or something as idiotically stupid. She shook her head. "Anything I say to Lucy, I'm just kidding and I'm not going to do anything to her. Besides, she's dating my ex. You want someone to watch for, watch for him." Might as well have a little fun in a different department, right?
He arched an eyebrow there. "...really? I haven't met him yet. I've heard some people say he's creepy, but a girl I consider a friend said he's a good person and he'd never hurt my sister."
"Well, maybe it's time you meet him," Mere pointed out. "The guy's a seriously powerful warlock. He came from a seriously broken home back in the day, but then the Mayor of Sunnydale had his father murdered by some batshit vampire." Yeah, her words for that old rival were not going to be kind. "I'm sure that he can still play the nice card for others, but I dated him for almost a year. I *know* what he's like."
"Dammit." Kevin muttered. "If I think he's going to hurt Lucy... what do I do?"
"Come get me," Mere told him. "If it comes down to it, I'll put him in his place. I don't want him hurting Lucy, either. Hopefully, it won't come to that. The worst he did to me was scare the hell out of me and kind of broke my heart, but he's capable of a lot worse."
"You know... it's hard to believe, I bet, now. That anyone could have ever made you feel like that." He looked at her, seeing how confident and almost predatory she seemed now.
She shrugged. "A little. I am pretty much a different person than I was back then," she said. She smiled at him. "I am a lot more confident in myself now, though."
He laughed, realizing how long ago it seemed now. "Chloe used to send me on late night food runs for you two, because she knew I couldn't say no to you."
"Very few people can say no to me," she said, still grinning. It really was just a fact of life to her at this point. "So, where are you heading tonight, anyway? You never said before."
"Been hanging around Eden lately. Going again tonight." He liked the music, the ambiance, of the place. Plus, Irene was there. He didn't have a girlfriend, but she was definitely someone he was interested in.
"Eden?" Mere had only been there once or twice. "Pretty decent place. I haven't been there too much."
Last time he was there, he'd heard one of Irene's band mates saying things about Meredith so obscene he still blushed over them. But he wasn't about to tell her that. "So... I guess you saw Lexi's back in town."
If only he knew that she was planning on putting that bitch through a plate glass window on a five story building one of these days. She didn't cater to that shit all that often. "Yeah, Chloe forced me to meet with her. It went alright."
"I dunno... she seemed better than I've seen her in a long time." Kevin and Lexi had always maintained a very flirtatious friendship based on mutual admiration and respect. "She's a nice girl, once you get past her shields."
"Well, she was definitely throwing a few of those shields during her last few months in the band," Mere pointed out. "Right at my head, as a matter of fact."
"I know, I know... Trust me, I'm not saying she's worthy of your trust or even your respect." He sighed there, shaking his head. "Just... give her a chance, is all I'm saying."
"I already said that I would," Mere told him. "To both Lexi and Chloe. I'm really trying here. I've just got a bit of a trust issue with her right now is all. Hopefully she proves me wrong. I'd love that."
"Trust me, Meredith. My concerns about you with Lexi have NOTHING to do with your vampirism." He smirked there, admitting this to her AND himself. "Has more to do with the fact that Lexi... I know that sometimes just TALKING to her makes you want to set her on fire."
"Or break her in half," Mere admitted. "I like the girl...sometimes. I really do. It's just that she gets to taking something nasty, and she gets bitchy, and I get snarly. It just doesn't always go together."
"Believe me, I know. When she's off the junk? She's one of the coolest people I know. When she's on it? She's one of the worst." He gave a soft chuckle. "But I guess we all have our inner demons... the trick is learning to deal with them."
"Some more than others," Mere said to him, smirking for a moment. She definitely had an inner demon or two. "Well, I'll let you get to Eden. Have fun, and tell Paige the Whore that I said to go choke on a dick for me." She said all of this in a chipper and friendly voice and, with a quick kiss on Kevin's cheek, she had grabbed her guitar and went back out. She'd just find Chloe later, anyway.
He laughed as she left, knowing that this feud between the two groups' guitarists was going to be very, very interesting. Now... what to do when they found out he was sort-of seeing one of the girls in the opposing group?
