She Was Told She Needed to Get Out More
Who: Sam and Ben
Where: Avarice
When: Monday Night
While Avarice was primarily a metal club, Ben knew that some non-metal music was also good enough to keep a metal crowd pleased... thus, the Beastie Boys 'Pass The Mic' playing as he leaned against the bar, smiling and letting his head lean back as he felt the cool air from the overhead fan drift down to him. Rocking a black suit sans tie, with several faux-silver rings adorning his fingers, his eyes scanned the crowd, as the wolfen young man seemed to get a thrill just fro seeing people enjoying his club.
Sam had come here on the recommendation of Chloe. Actually, when she says recommendation, she means all of the gushing on how cute the owner is. Sam was sure that something about it being a metal club was also mentioned, at least once, but it was mostly the cuteness of the owner. So, seeing as she needed to get out of the apartment for things other than training and patrolling, she decided to come out to Avarice. After getting past the bouncer, she walked over to the bar to get herself something to drink.
Ben chuckled as a mini-mosh pit broke out while Testament's 'Practice What You Preach' began, hoping it wouldn't get TOO out of hand, but knowing the bouncers would be there if it did. He looked to the odd-haired girl next to him, waiting for service, and reached over the bar, tugging the tender's sleeve. "Hey, Gus... not to be a cockblock with the umpteenth girl you've flirted with tonight, but this young lady's waiting for a drink." The tender nodded respectfully and hurried over. "No problem, boss."
Sam thought that it was going to take forever to get a drink served to her when the bartender finally came over to her after a very handsome guy prodded him to do so. That had to be the owner. Who else could get the bartender to actually do his job? Drink finally in hand, Sam walked over to him. "Thanks for giving him the heads up," she said. "I thought he was going to fall down that girl's shirt, he was looking so far down it." It wasn't said in a snippy way, but merely observant.
"I'd probably feel bad, but I'm not exactly paying him by the lay here." Ben chuckled and shrugged. "Anyway, it was my pleasure."
Sam laughed. "You wouldn't happen to be the owner of this place, would you? If you are, I've heard some good things about you."
"Nonsense... there ARE no good things to say about me." Ben said with a straight face, finally winking at her. "Name's Benjamin Bale. But you can call me Ben."
"Then you should tell that to Chloe Van Warren, because all she did was rave about you," Sam said with a grin. "Sam Perry. Pleasure to meet you, Ben."
"The Sugar Fairy?" Ben asked with a hearty laugh. "She's a good kid, not really my type though." Yeah... in that band? Delaney was DEFINITELY more his type. "Welcome to Avarice, Sam."
Sam laughed again when he called Chloe 'The Sugar Fairy.' "I'll have to remember that one. She's my roommate, and she is pretty much constantly bouncing off the walls." She smiled at him. "Thanks for the welcome. I like this place. LA doesn't have many good metal clubs."
Ben smiled right back at her, finding her smile rather fetching. "Tell you what... keep coming back, and when I start the 'VIP Club' here, I'll make sure you get membership. It's going to be a special area of the club that only certain people will have access to. Free drinks, all kinds of perks."
"Well, that certainly sounds like an invitation that I will accept," Sam replied. Chloe had been right about one thing; this guy definitely was handsome, and charming, too. "I'll definitely have to keep coming back for that." She took a sip of her drink.
"And when you talk to Chloe, have her tell her friend Meredith I said hello." He left it at that, mostly, he just wanted Mere to know he was here. Hey... never hurts to have 'special friends', eh? "So what interesting thigns did The Sugar Fairy have to say about me?"
"Meredith? Sure, I'll let her know." The vampire chick that Sam had to swear not to stake? Huh...it takes all kinds, doesn't it? Still, everyone has their tastes. "Well, Miss Sugar Fairy was the one who told me about your club. She all but ordered me that I had to come and check it out."
"Heh. The kid's nothing if not a good friend." Ben chuckled with a shake of his head. "Tell her I said thanks, for sending such a beautiful girl my way."
"Well, what a charmer you are," Sam said playfully. "I have to do a little thanking to her myself for sending me up this way."
"Me? A charmer?" Ben motioned to himself with a slightly mocking surprised blink. "Never."
Sam just smiled at him. "I'm sure that you've never been told that before," she said, winking at him.
"I'm all flustered, actually. I'm never told such flattering things." Oh, how he smirked there.
Yeah, she didn't buy that at all, but she was having a good time right now. "So, what made you decide to open up a club here in LA? Lots of competition here."
"Well, I got a taste of it in the last town I lived in, and just... needed more." So, the pervert in him had to say it. "You and Van Warren living together huh? Can't say that doesn't sound pretty hot."
"You from the same town that Chloe was in?" It seemed like so many of them had relocated together. Kind of a coincidence, that way. She grinned when Ben said that it was hot for them to be together. "Well, my personal preference is men, but I can see that being hot."
"Men, hm?" He laughed as Gus handed him another small glass of scotch. "I'll have to file that knowledge away for future use."
"I won't object to that, either," Sam told him. She could never be with women, since they were all pretty much insane, anyway.
"So I'm gonna guess here." He looked her over, as if studying her for a few seconds, before putting his finger on his chin. "19."
"Me? Yeah, actually, you're right. Got a lot of practice doing that?" Sam wasn't a fool. She could guess that he got around. She didn't blame him, though. Why shouldn't he?
"More than I'll ever admit." He said with a laugh. Hey... why lie?
She laughed as well. "Well, you're pretty good at it. Always good to have a few hidden talents." He probably had more than that.
"Dear girl... I have talents you've never even fantasized about." With those predatory eyes, he gave a grin more fitting to an animal about to devour it's prey. "I may not be the man girls bring home to meet thier mother... but I'm definitely the man your mother told you to stay away from. And honestly... which of those is more fun?"
"I never was interested in the boys that I could take home to my parents, anyway," she said to him with a grin. "They are always boring." Her parents never had approved of her taste in men, but that had never stopped her from dating whomever she wanted.
