I Can Haz Apocalypse Nao? Part 2
Who: Lucie, Azrael, and Helen Holt
Where: The Tree of Knowledge bookstore
When: Sunday evening
He'd gotten the location out of Obadiah and when he found out just what the location was, Azrael couldn't help but be a little amused at the irony. He came up behind Lucie, circling his arms about her shoulders.
"Mmm..you're on a good mood why?" She asked slightly suspicious of his good mood, since they seemed so few and far between.
"I found specifics on the location of the next seal." He pressed a kiss to her temple, "You'll never guess where it is."
Lucie smiled. "Where is it?" She asked forgetting all her current stacks of paperwork for the moment.
"It is..." He tapped her shoulder gently, "At a bookstore called..." Azrael grinned, turning his master around in his arms, "The Tree of Knowledge."
Lucie practically lit up. "Really? How amusing. So when are we leaving?"
"Right now, if you want."
She smiled. "Just let me grab my coat and we can go." She said as she got up. A few seconds later she got her coat. "Okay let’s go."
Topside, Helen Holt was unaware of what was about to transpire in her little bookshop. Indeed, she wasn't even aware of what she was sitting on top of. At the moment, she was contentedly cataloging away a new shipment of unique books she had gleefully acquired.
It didn't take Lucie and Azrael long to find the shop. On the way to the shop they'd passed a few bars and clubs.
Azrael wore his usual suit and trench coat as they finally reached the shop; he paused in front of the door and knocked.
"We'd like to come in for a second.” Lucie said. When it came to new plans or avenues of gaining more power, Lucie tended to get a little over zealous about things.
"I'm sorry," Helen shrugged, pointing to the sign that was tacked to the door, "My shop is closed for the evening." She smiled, "I'll be open again at nine tomorrow morning."
"This can't wait until tomorrow." Lucie said as she stepped closer to the door.
Helen's smile became tense, "I'm afraid it will have to, madam, my shop is closed for the evening." The Watcher pulled the shade down again and started walking away from the door.
Lucie frowned. "Okay I'm done playing nice." She muttered as she suddenly reappeared on the other side of the door with a smile on her candy red lips.
Azrael blew the door inward behind Lucie, stepping through the wreckage. Helen whirled at the same time, a glow of light flaring in her eyes briefly and her voice warped and distorted, "Leave at once or face the consequences."
"Not Happening sorry." Lucie said still smiling as she moved closer to Helen.
The blonde Watcher started chanting, her fingers drawing symbols in the air in front of her and then both hands came up and "pushed" at the air. The spell was supposed to use concussive force and push the person or person's backward.
Lucie only moved a few inches, but that was it. The spell didn't have a huge affect on her.
Azrael was a little more affected by the spell, than Lucie. He got knocked into an adjacent bookcase and batted aside books that rained down on him. Anger literally flared in his eyes and jumping to his feet, the fallen angel threw a fireball at Helen who let out a fearful squeak and dodged toward the phone on the counter, pulling to her chest as she hit the floor. Scrambling, she started dialing Candice's phone number.
Lucie smiled at Azrael and moved closer to Helen. "Like I said we need something."
"I don't understand!" Helen shouted, "I have nothing here but books!" She mashed the last number on the dial pad and waited for the phone to start ringing.
"Oh Helen, you have soo much more than books here." Lucie smiled and kept moving closer.
Azrael stalked toward Helen, grabbing her by the foot just as she shouted in the phone, "C-Candice, help!" She shrieked just as she was pulled away from the phone. The demon then picked Helen up and pinned her to the wall by her neck.
Lucie smiled and walked over to the middle of the room where the table was. She turned the table over and then moved the rug out of her way.
Helen struggled futilely against Azrael's vise-like grip and shouted, "What do you want!?" She sobbed, batting at the man's arms.
"Something special." Lucie replied as she unearthered the seal. She then let fire flow from her fingertips again.
As with the first seal, a great loud crack could be heard from the large stone doors that had been sealed shut. The doors started to crumble, breaking apart, and a rumbling underneath could be felt. The rumbling got louder and louder until finally the doors wrought into the floor blew, and a figure dressed in white appeared once the dust settled.
Lucie smiled and held out her hand. "Welcome back."
A very feminine hand took Lucie's and the figure that stepped forward was that of young girl. Waifish described her appearance perfectly and her voice was almost a whisper it was so quiet, "Lucie... it is so good to be back..." She looked around, "So much has changed..." Priscilla smiled when she saw Azrael and Helen, her eyes gleaming before they closed. "Ah... the squirming one has double the life in her..." She turned to Lucie, her demeanor, tone, body language like that of a childs as she asked, "May I have her, Lucie?"
"I know a lot's changed since you've been gone." Lucie said as she watched her smile at Azrael, the inspect Helen. At the question Lucie smiled. "Sure go ahead."
Azrael stepped aside as Priscilla approached the two, letting go of Helen who dropped to the floor. The newly released demon effortlessly picked Helen up, looking the trembling, sniffling woman, "So hungry..." Priscilla murmured and then proceeded to suck the life out Helen, much to chagrin. Both Helen and Horus shrieked in agony as the demon slowly, and painfully took their lives.
Lucie just sat back and smiled watching Priscilla. "I've missed her." She said to Azrael.
Having moved to stand with Lucie, Azrael said nothing in reply. He his it well, his face it's usual stoic mask, but inside the fallen angel was dismayed and horrified at the display.
Lucie waited until she was done, then moved over to her.
Priscilla let Helen drop to the floor in an ungraceful pile. The blonde Watched looked as waifish as Priscilla, as if... she'd starved to death. The demon tilted her head, studying Helen as she asked, "Where is Warrick?"
Lucie shrugged. "He's around probably wreaking havoc somewhere." She smiled.
"Hm..." Priscilla started wandering off toward the broken shop door, "I should join him..."
"Have fun sweetie." Lucie said as she watched her leave the shop. "Now what?" She said as she looked over at Azrael.
Azrael shrugged and replied in all seriousness, "I'm just glad I didn't get the snot kicked out of me this time."
Lucie smiled and kissed him, "Me too. What about clubbing?" She asked wanting something to do and thinking that clubbing would be fun.
The fallen angel shrugged. He wasn't exactly the clubbing type, but since it was something Lucie enjoyed, Azrael usually went with her, "If you want to."
"Or I guess we could always go to a bar.." She said seeing if maybe that might interest him more than clubbing.
"Okay." Azrael murmured, he leaned into her, "If that's what you want," a small smile grew on his face and he briefly kissed her before pulling away and started toward the door.
"It'll be fun." She said as they left the bookstore and headed out to the nearest bar.
