Training and a Little T&A
Who: Cyd and Melaka
Where: The Hyperion
When: Friday, March 25th
Since arriving almost ten days prior in the City of Angeles, Cyd pretty much contained herself to the four walls of the hotel. It was pathetic actually, but the girl had successfully managed to avoid seeing either Faith or Melaka. So maybe there was a bit of a bright side to her stay within the confines of the hotel. She had also made much use of one of the training rooms the place had. Now though, Cyd was tracking her way down from her room toward the large kitchen to grab herself something to eat and drink.
Which, sadly, was when Cyd's little streak of not seeing Faith or Melaka was about to end. Mel was in the kitchen after a personal training session, hunting for a glass of water. Her blackish-blue purple tipped hair was tied back in a tight ponytail and she had the look of someone who was deep in thought. The Slayer was currently dressed in loose-fitting orange cargo pants and a tight-fitting tank-top, showing off most of her tattoos. What she was thinking about was anyone's guess, really.
Cyd, wearing gray sweats and black tee, had only caught a glimpse of the other girl from behind when she entered the kitchen, which was why she offered a casual greeting as she tracked her way toward the large fridge rather then backstep it out of the room before having been noticed.
"Hey," Mel replied just as casually, not turning around just yet at the sound of the other woman's voice. She took a gulp of her water before turning on the spot and resting her backside against the counter, eying Cyd curiously. "Decided to make something of your life, huh?"
Cyd had only made it half way across the room before her feet brought her to a complete stop when Melaka turned around and she had full view of the other Slayer's face. "Something like that," only that was the exact reason why Cyd had come to L.A., "figured this place was worth checking out." Why let the other girl know that her parting words had stuck with Cyd after Mel and Faith left Nome.
"Good," Mel replied with a stern nod. She turned and rinsed her glass, setting it on the rack in the sink before facing Cyd again. "Kinda hope it was something that I said that had an effect," she admitted. Sure, she was pissed at Cyd at the time, but what she said came from a good place, anyway. "Anyone training you yet?" She asked as she made her way over to the other girl.
"Not yet," Cyd responded, "kind of been keeping myself scarce," or was it the other way around, which could explain why Cyd really hadn't seen anyone in the hotel other then the kid, Jodi. "Kind of been training myself." Cyd said as Melaka approached her.
Mel nodded slowly and leaned back against the nearest bench. "Jodi's taught me a thing or two, but for the most part, I've been training with other girls. I'm not in a hurry for … something normal with a Watcher. Or, what I'm told is normal around here. It's like swimming for the first time, y'know? I'm worried I might drown," she admitted.
"My opinion, if you care to hear it," though Cyd didn't give Melaka a chance to respond before she was continuing on, "is that you really don't need a Watcher for training. As long as you have someone to train with, that is." In her mind training with another Slayer was just as productive as training with a Watcher, at least for a seasoned Slayer.
"That's good for fighting. Learning new techniques, not as good for demonology, or hunting, I think. Knowledge is invaluable," Mel replied. While she thought that she wasn't the brightest apple in the bunch, she tried to learn as much as she could whenever she could. Who knew when that information would come in handy, eh?
"On that I'd have to agree with you." Was it an actuality that the two Slayers were agreeing on something instead on butting heads on a subject, which kind of happened back in Nome leaving one Slayer a bit pissed and upset at the other.
Mel smiled faintly and crossed her arms under her breasts. Well. At least this time she didn't feel the overwhelming desire to hit something (or someone), huh? "I'm glad. ...You up to anything now?" God knows Mel could use more people to hang around / spar with.
"Other then having come down here to get myself something to drink? Nope." Eating could wait til later as Cyd had been lacking in social contact with others ever since leaving Alaska. And while she liked her alone time every now and then, Cyd was nowhere near the hermit type of girl.
"Alright. Well. In that case," Mel rolled her eyes, knowing that she'd likely heard this wrong from some of the girls, "Let's find a room so you can show me some of your MAD SKILLZ. 'Cause I'm starting to think that the lady doth protest too much."
If Cyd had been in the midst of drinking something just then, she very well may have sputtered and choke on the drink after hearing what Melaka had just said. Instead the blond Slayer smirked to keep from having a good chuckle at that. Not that it was a bad idea, Mel was a hottie after all, but somehow Cyd was figuring hitting the springs wasn't exactly what Melaka had in mind. "Been awhile since I actually trained with something other then an inanimate object."
"Tsk. Now WHERE'S the fun in that?" Mel replied before snagging them each a bottle of water from the fridge and leading the blonde over to one of the free training rooms, shutting the door behind them. "Now, do we need a safe word, or d'you think you can keep up with me?" Oh, Mel. You really need to think about your phrasing sometimes.
"Well, that would depend on just what you had in mind, Melaka." Cyd grinned at the girl from another world. "If you're talking strictly training, then damn straight I can keep up with you, if you're referring to something else, then maybe a safe word would be good, and I don't think it'd be a question of me keeping up with you, but rather you being able to keep up with me."
"Someone's a little cocky," Mel replied as she set their drinks aside on a table in the room. She stretched out her limbs and rolled her eyes. "And I just meant training," she added, not realizing at all that she'd phrased things in such a way that it could be taken incredibly differently.
"Well, trainings a start." Cyd smirked before putting herself through a couple warm up moves. Once they got into the physical training part, and worked themselves up to all sweaty, Cyd could definitely carrying things over beyond training with the other Slayer. Especially with one as good looking as Melaka.
Mel arched an eyebrow at that, but said nothing about it. Instead, she walked around the room, lumbering up. "So, how do you wanna do this? First person to pin the other wins?" She'd often done that one with Kayla, although they tended to do best out of three, since Kayla had a bit of a competitive streak going for her, it seemed.
"What are the stakes? You know, what do you want if you win and what might I get if I win." Cyd stated as she fastened her hair back in a pony. She knew what she wanted if she won this little competition, but her want might not be attainable if Mel wouldn't be agreeable to it.
"No idea," Mel replied with a laugh. She and Kayla mostly fooled around for fun, trying to best each other. It never occurred to her that she could get something out of it. "I guess we can figure that part out later?" She suggested, since she didn't have a bastard clue what she might want from the other girl.
"Deal." Cyd grinned. "Whenever you're ready chicka." This was going to be enjoyable for Cyd, even if she didn't sack the other Slayer, they'd both get worked up and sweaty. Which kind of came close to the real thing.
Mel grinned, taking her time sizing Cyd up, trying to figure out what her strengths and weaknesses might be. If she wanted to hurt or slow the other girl down, she might have gone for the kneecaps, but since this was for fun... maybe that wasn't the best idea. What she did do, however, was throw a few wide punches to check Cyd's reaction time, since that was something that she could use to her advantage.
Cyd definitely wasn't out of practice and smoothly dodged each punch Melaka throw at her. The blond Slayer moved in a slow circle around her opponent sizing her up and looking for an opening to seize. With a couple of fake punches directed at Melaka, Cyd moved in quickly to swipe the other girl's legs to hopefully knock her off her feet and onto the training room floor.
Mel fell back, alright, but as soon as she hit the floor, she swept a leg at the back of Cyd's calves, intending to knock her down with her, since no way in Hell was she going to make this easy for the blonde.
Cyd grinned for a split second watching as Mel hit the floor backside first. A second later Cyd felt herself taking that same route with her back hitting the solid of the floor. She was only down for a brief second before flipping back up to her feet in defense mode with her eyes trained carefully on her opponent. "Nice move."
"I try," Mel replied with a grin as she got to her feet, bringing her hands up in a defensive position. While she didn't want to hurt Cyd, she suspected that they could keep dancing around each other for a while. Deciding that quicker would be better, she threw a few quick punches and kicks to distract the blonde, and when she was close enough, grabbed hold of her shoulders, placed one leg behind her and swept her to the ground.
Cyd fell back to the floor once more with a sturdy 'thud'. "Didn't take you for one to go all kinky on me." Cyd teased with a grin just before, in a quick, fluid maneuver, she knocked the girl off her sideways and reversed their positions with Mel now pinned to the floor by Cyd.
"I think you're the one pulling out the kink here," Mel replied, squirming under the other woman. She wasn't about to give up just yet. She managed to get one of her arms free and hooked it around Cyd's waist, trying to flip her again with a grunt.
Cyd tried keeping the upper hand and more dominant position, but that didn't last anywhere near long when once again the blond Slayer found herself, possibly intentionally, pinned under the weight of the other Slayer. "You could possibly be right on that." Cyd said with a slow spread of a grin as she looked up at the other girl.
Mel grinned and pinned Cyd's hands over her head, putting enough force behind it to keep her there. "I think this is the point where you concede defeat," she said after a minute, shifting the weight of her hips slightly to keep the other girl under her. "Say it. Say I win." Hm. Someone was in a playful mood now, wasn't she?
"I don't know," Cyd told her squirming her body slightly beneath the other Slayer. She was kind of enjoying the feel of Mel on top of her all semi sweaty, and if she conceded at that moment everything would end with Mel most likely releasing Cyd and climbing off of her. "If I concede what is it you get?"
Mel rocked her hips oh-so-slightly and leaned down, her face teasingly close to Cyd's. Raising an eyebrow, she smirked and said: "Round 2? I think you got off easy this time." Yep, someone clearly needs to teach Mel how to phrase things, huh? "I think we should go hard and fast. No holds barred."
Cyd grinned at that. "Hard and fast sounds good to me." And because her mouth was so close and tempting, Cyd didn't even try to fight it as she leaned up to brush her lips lightly against her training partner's. Soft and sweet they were just as she had imagined they'd be from the first time she laid eyes on Melaka back in Alaska.
Well, color Mel stunned. She pulled away as soon as Cyd's lips touched hers, releasing hold of the blonde's wrists as well and looked into her eyes. What the hell just happened? Growling lightly, she lowered again and kissed Cyd, putting a little bite behind it as she tangled one hand in the blonde's hair.
Cyd caught and held the other Slayer's gaze with her grin toned down to a slight smile. And when Mel lowered to kiss her this time, Cyd's body shifted slightly beneath the weight as she kissed her back with her hand finding Mel's free one and her fingers linking with the other girl's.
