Packing Up
Who: Keegan and Cat
Where: Cat and Brandon's Apartment
When Friday, March 11
Keegan was in the spare bedroom in Cat and Brandon's apartment that she was currently using as her own. The teen had an open traveling bag on the bed that she was trying to pack. Her and Cat were going to head out that evening to join Brandon on his joint tour with Meeghan Gregory. The pair was touring as a group called Mist of Shadows for the length of two months in various cities in the western states.
Catherine was sitting on Keegan's bed, watching her as she packed up. She went out on tour with Brandon mainly because she could barely stand to be away from him for more than a day, but she had come in to pick up Keegan so that the girl could be with them on the weekend part of the tour. They were lucky that the tour was fairly close enough that the drive wasn't ridiculous. Plus, Ben paid for it all. "Been looking forward to this weekend?" she asked.
"I have, actually." Keegan admitted fitting another outfit into the bag. "I still can't believe all of this. It still seems somewhat of a fairytale to me." The teen stated with a little bit of a sigh as she sat down on the bed next to Catherine. It had been a little less then two months ago when Keegan was working the streets of L.A., and now. Now she had her own room and freedom to go where she wanted, when she wanted. She had two people who were now like family to her her, and an actual friend or two in high school. And now she had the chance to travel on tour with an up and coming band. It still at times seemed all too surreal to the teen.
"Well, sometimes fairytales can rock hard," Cat said with a smile. "Hopefully the fairytale about Baba Yaga doesn't come true any time soon. A witch running around with a hut standing on a chicken's leg doesn't sound fun." Well, at least Cat amused herself, right?
Keegan couldn't help crack a smile then. Not that she had any idea about the Baba fairytale Cat had just made reference to, but the mental picture that flashed in her mind of a witch with a chicken's leg running around with a hut did have some amusement to it. "Let's hope that one doesn't come true anytime in the foreseeable future. Do you think I should pack more then two outfits of clothing?" Keegan asked, then, getting back on track to the packing for the weekend she had started. Not that she had all that much in her wardrobe to begin with. Most of which, well, actually all that Keegan had in her closet had been graciously provided for her by either Catherine or Brandon. But she was unsure if she should pack extra for a just in case moment.
"I hope that Baba Yaga isn't real. Even if she is, though, she's far off in Russia." Let's just hope that she stays there, yeah? "Hmm...maybe two more outfits wouldn't hurt? Never know if someone is going to spill something on you or what." It would suck to run out of clothing because they kept getting dirty and all.
"Let's hope." Keegan agreed with a little smile. "You sure two more?" The teen questioned. She had figured one more outfit for a just in case moment, but two. Well, Keegan was now unsure of what else she should include for the trip.
"Yeah, you got room for two more," Catherine said with a grin. "Besides, a girl's gotta have options, right?" Even though Catherine was mostly back and forth, she had pretty much carried around her entire wardrobe with her. Might as well put her Slayer strength to good use, huh?
"I really appreciate all you and Brandon have done for me, Catherine." Keegan said smiled lightly to the other girl. "Not many people would have taken in a girl like me."
Catherine nodded. "Well, I was happy to do it." Especially since she found out what a nice girl Keegan turned out to be. She had sort of suspected that, under the drugs and attitude, she would be, but she was DEFINITELY glad to find out that she was right.
"I... I. Would you help me pick out a couple other things to pack for this weekend." Unable to put her thoughts and feelings into words, Keegan halted her attempt at it feeling she would only ramble and not make a bit of sense to Catherine. Besides she needed to get with her packing so they could be on their way. Keegan knew, even though Catherine hadn't mentioned it, that the other girl was missing her boyfriend, and the sooner the got on the rode, the sooner Catherine would be reunited with Brandon.
Catherine smiled. "Sure," she said with another nod. "What else do you need some help with?"
"I think that's it." Keegan replied with a bit of hesitancy in her voice. She could remember the last time she had to pack for anything, which meant that the teen could be forgetting a vital girl type necessity.
"Cool then. Let's see what you got packed and then I can fill in some of the blanks, hopefully," Catherine offered.
