Makin' Friends
Who: Logan and Karissa
Where: A music room in Regan High
When: Friday, March 11th
Considering it was the end of the school day, you'd think that Logan would have gone home now, right? Right? ...That wasn't the case. The boy was SUCH a muso that he hoped to get in a couple of songs done in the band room. Dressed in jeans, a dress shirt, tie and vest combo... what he DIDN'T expect was to basically walk in on a girl spazzing out on the drums. His brown eyes widening in surprise.
Spazzing out? Maybe. But still... Rissa was fucking GOOD, alright? The tattooed blonde saw him standing there though, and stood up, that killer body just clad in little black shorts and a white baggy tee-shirt, the tats on her thigh and hips easily visible. "Um... Hi?"
He stared at her for a few extra seconds before blinking and shaking his head. Clearly her appearance had him distracted, eh? "Hi. Sorry. I didn't think anyone else would be here." He walked into the room, though and extended one hand, "I'm Logan."
"Karissa. Karissa Starr." She said, trying to get the hang of using her 'new' name. 'Just figured I'd get some practice in before I head to my lead guitarist's place. You know Lucy Van Warren?" Duh, Rissa... Lucy was ONLY one of the most popular girls in school... "We're in a band together."
"Oh, that's cool," he replied with a smile. "She's a sweet girl." It was doubtful that ANYONE had a bad word to say against Lucy, come to think of it... "Judging by the way you play, I'm not surprised that you two are in a band together." He played five or six instruments himself... he'd honestly lost count.
"Thank you." The blonde said with a grin that made the stud in her lip glint a little in the light. Who the let a girl this young get all these piercings and tattos??? Kevin and Buffy, that's who. Awesome parents FTW.
Hey, Logan was friends with TJ. Like tatts or piercings were going to bother him. He shut the door behind him and moved more into the room, setting his backpack down near one of the desks. "So, do you just play one genre of music, or do you play based on your mood?"
"Mostly metal. I like playing fast. I'm... kinda hyper." No. Really? "That beat I was just playing was one of our songs, actually."
"I liked it," he admitted, sitting down in one of the many vacant seats in the room. "Sadly I have a short attention span, so I hop from one instrument to another. It's great if you want a folk record or something, but depressing if you want something long term."
"Right now, I'M just lookin' for a bass player. It's all my band really needs to get going." Rissa proclaimed even as she fidgeted a little. Girl really WAS a ball of unimaginable energy.
"Hm. Well, that kinda sucks. I'm not sure that I know anyone that plays bass," he admitted. Unfortunately, that was one instrument that he DIDN'T play. "I'm sure that you guys will find someone easily enough."
"Yeah... Lucy and Brayden are looking for someone. I would, but I tend to babble and I'd end up with someone who never even touched a bass but who could talk about cookies for hours and I'm really no makin' any sense so I'll shut up now." The blonde said with a sweet blush.
Logan couldn't help it but laugh. "Well, I'll admit that I don't know anything about playing bass, but I'll happily talk to you about cookies and other sugar-based products, if you'd like."
Karissa gave a grin that was far more innocent and sweet than one would expect from someone so tattooed and pierced. "You're so sweet! I actually mostly like talking about music. I come from a very musical family, so... it's kinda in my blood."
"That makes sense," he nodded. "My family are more actors and teachers... so I was doomed from the start," he joked lightly. He was more interested in acting, personally, but doubted that he'd make a career of it. "Still, it's good to have something that you enjoy."
"Music... is kinda all I have right now." She said with a slight frown. "I don't really have any friends here. Most of my friends are, well... back home. And the one GOOD friend I had here, she moved. So I'm that lame kid now that just hangs with her family."
"I think it's always hard to adjust to a new place, but you seem like a nice girl. I don't see why you COULDN'T make friends if you just got out there a little more." He smiled.
"Yeah, that's what my m... cousin Buffy tells me. She says I just have to go more places, meet more people. Thing is... believe it or not? I get SHY around people." Right. Shy. A Van Warren.
"Well, you're not shy around me," he pointed out. Then again, most women found it easy to talk to him. "Do you mean in groups?"
She nodded, nibbling her lip a little. "Yeah. Like... I never know what to say to people."
"I think that there's... nothing wrong with being yourself. Expressing who you are. It's kind of what my friends and I live by." A thought occurred to him then. Hell, he'd offered the same to Keegan, so why not? "If you want, you should have lunch with us all sometime. If you don't feel up to talking, you don't have to. At the least, you'll have someone pretty to look at," he joked. He knew that a lot of girls thought he was cute, after all.
"I'd love to!" The blonde squealed, smiling brightly. "You don't sit with the cheerleaders do you? That Payton girl is kinda MEAN." She said with a small pout.
"No," he laughed, shaking his head. "No. The art and drama kids, mostly. So, hey. You'll be entertained." He grinned.
"Oh good! The FUN people!" Karissa actually did a little hop there, grinning ear to ear. "I don't like mean people. Not at ALL." Which made her longtime crush on Brayden kind of hilarious, really.
"Oh, no. We're all mellow and cute as kittens, really. I mean, TJ gets her grump on sometimes, but that's only because she's protective of us all and her girlfriend, so I don't blame her for that. When you see her, you'll understand why I find it amusing. She's TINY." Well, anyone under 6 foot was tiny to Logan, really...
"Oh, I've seen TJ around! She's ADORABLE!" Ok, so that was Karissa's way of saying 'hot'. What of it? "Her girlfriend really IS tiny. But at least people don't seem to be picking on the poor thing as much now..."
"That's true," he nodded. "I'm not a fan of bullying, personally. I just... don't see the need for it. Plus, why bully someone who's just so sweet and innocent?" He frowned lightly.
"My cousin says she's a really nice girl. I don't actually know her..." Rissa said, not really thinking that hey... why the fuck would BUFFY know a freshman?
"Well, there you go. There's someone else that you should get to know." He smiled, thinking, really... who WASN'T going to like Karissa?
"I'm really glad I met you, Logan." She said, the tone of her voice almost TOO sweet, to the point of being almost childlike.
"I'm glad that I met you, too," he replied, giving her a sweet smile. It was always nice making new friends, after all!
