Two Slayers Walk Into This Bar.... Who: Melaka, Faith and introing Cyd Barrington Where: Crazy Sally's bar - Nome, Alaska When: Friday Night, March 4
"Need me two beers, a scotch and shot of whiskey." Cyd called out momentarily setting her wooden, circular tray down on the bar top. With the place more then half full with mostly regulars, Cyd appreciated the momentary break allotted her while waiting for her order of drinks to be rounded up. Not that anyone would find Cyd openly complaining. Sure she put long hours in at the bar, but the tips she made were good and the girl got along well with most of the patrons. And best of all no one in the city of Nome knew about her former life.
When Faith walked into the bar, she smirked. If it wasn't for the FREEZING cold, this would be the perfect place for her to hang. Hey, Avarice was great, but sometimes you just wanted a damn dive bar to hang around in. She shook some of the snow off of her coat. "Fuck, you gotta be a damn polar bear to stand this," she muttered as she walked in. Even though she wanted a drink, her and Mel were technically on a mission here, so no drinks until they were done.
Melaka followed close behind Faith, dressed in green cargo's and a brown leather jacket with a faux-leather trim along the hood and on the sleeves. "I've had worse," she replied. Yeah. Global warming was a BITCH like that. "What does this girl look like again?"
Cyd lifted up her tray of drinks just as the two strangers entered the bar. Tracking her way back to the table of guys who were regulars, Cyd cast a brief glance, which turned curious when she saw the two girls with unfamiliar faces enter the establishment. "Here you go, boys." Cyd said with a wink and a smile to the the youngest, and the most good looking, of the group as she distributed the round of drinks.
"If I get worse weather than this, I'm going to start spraying hairspray directly into the atmosphere," Faith said. "Global warming my ass." She looked around the bar. "The chick we're looking for is supposed to be a waitress in this bar, actually." Then she spotted her. "I think it's that one, actually," she said, pointing to Cyd.
Melaka looked over to the girl that Faith pointed to and smirked slightly. Of course, Sin Stone likely would have flipped her shit hilariously at what Mel said next: "Edible. ...I think I'll follow your lead on this one."
Once the two new girls seated themselves, Cyd wandered over to greet them. "Evening ladies, anything I can get you tonight." She asked with a smile while her gaze lingered a bit on Faith first, then wandered over to do the same with Melaka. Both girls were definitely pleasant on the eyes.
"Definitely edible," Faith said as the two of them headed over. Once Cyd came around, Faith looked up at her with a grin. "Yeah? Can we get two beers to start with?" Might as well drink until she figured out how to bring this up.
Mel slipped out of her jacket as the other two women were talking, revealing a black tank-top and purple leg-warmers over her arms. She had to smirk at Faith, since she'd been thinking about getting a beer herself (and it had been so long since she'd had one), before looking up at Cyd. "Promise we'll be good." It was interesting that that was the first thing she said to a server in a bar, hm?
"Don't know when there was ever much fun had by being good." Cyd returned to Mel with a wink and saucy grin. "I'll be back in a min with your beers." She relayed to Faith as the girls drink order was jotted down on her order pad before she turned to step away from the table.
Faith gave her a nod and watched her as she walked off before turning to Mel. "So, should we just blurt this shit out or work our way up to it? Not really feeling scaring her off, you know?"
Melaka leaned back in her seat and quietly assessed people in the bar. She could always sense the trouble-makers... if only because she was one herself. "Let's see if she'll sit with us. Maybe we can get her to talk from there." She suggested.
Faith was more than a little bit of a trouble maker as well. Born and bred that way. "Works for me," she said to Mel with a nod. Seemed like a good, relaxed way to bring stuff up.
"Here ya go, ladies." Cyd said with that ever present smile of hers when she reached their table. The young server then set the beers down, one glass in front of each girl. "If there's anything else I can get for you, just give me a little shout or wave. My name's Cyd." She added with a flirty wink before making the move to leave the girls table again.
Faith gave the girl a smirk. "Thanks," she said to her. "Wanna join us for a drink as well?"
"Promise we won't bite," Melaka added with a smirk. If you didn't know her very well, you'd swear that Faith was a bad influence on Mel--but this was actually what she was like. Really!
The more Melaka spoke, the more Cyd found herself liking the girl. "Actually, it's against policy to socialize to that extent with the customers while working." Cyd told them the sad, but true rule held by the bar. "You ladies enjoy your drinks." Giving a smile to each, Cyd turned to wander off back to work.
Faith smirked at the girl. "Feel free to stop by when you're off then," she said, inwardly annoyed that this was going to be a bit more complicated.
"If you ladies are still around soaking things up two hours from now I very well may do just that." Cyd told them with a flash of a grin when she glanced back to the table. There was no policy or self set rule that once cyd was off the clock she couldn't socialize with the customers. And Melaka and Faith were two girls Cyd felt she'd enjoy 'socializing' with.
Mel just shrugged at Faith, figuring that was the best that they were going to get from their fellow Slayer. "Well, they have a pool table, at least. Wanna get your ass kicked?"
"By you? Now that's all sorts of tempting. You're on," Faith said with a smirk.
"Damn, you girls must really be wanting my company." Cyd said with a smirk as she approached the pool table Faith and Mel were still making use of. She would have thought that after a couple drinks each to pair would have left, but instead they seemed insistent on having her company and actually stuck around for two hours. A menage a trois was a rare thing for Cyd, though the girl wasn't unacquainted with that whole scenario. And with two girls, if that's what they might have had in mind, Cyd had actually once participated in an all girl one.
"In a manner of speaking," Mel replied. She'd clearly picked up a couple of phrases that the Watchers used. She looked to Faith briefly, a little uncertain how to even start this conversation. "We actually came to talk to you about something, if you'll hear us out."
"Sure. I'll listen." It was the least she could do for the two girls. Scooting herself up onto the side of the pool table, Cyd readied to listen to what the pair might want to talk about.
Faith would be stuck with actually delivering the message. Awesome. Would be great if they actually could pull off that threesome tonight, if Cyd was still talking to them by the end of this. "Damn, I've never been the one to do this talk before," she muttered. "Might as well get right to it, huh? We're Slayers, kiddo. We were asked to come up and check up on ya." And see if she'd come back, but one step at a time.
"Yeah. I guess they decided to send the hot Slayers to make it easier for you," Melaka added. Lovely.
Well, that was the last thing Cyd expected to hear, and the girl was none to pleased about it. "Wherever it is you came from I suggest you go back and forget you ever saw me." Cyd practically growled at the two as she slid herself down off the edge of the pool table. She was liking her present life. No one in Nome knew about her past life as a Slayer, not that she totally had escaped it. While it wasn't a huge problem in the Alaskan city, every now and then a vampire or two would creep into the place with Cyd taking it upon herself to handle the situation.
"Now is that listening to what we gotta say or bailing because you got caught off guard," Faith asked, sighing in frustration. This was not cool at all. "We ain't here to drag you off anywhere. We're just here to let you know what's up and give you an option. Now you promised to hear us out, so give us a break, OK?"
Melaka nodded, thinking 'it ain't all bad', but mercifully she didn't say THAT one out loud. "I'll even say 'please'".
"Alright." Cyd turned to face the two girls with arms crossed. "I'll hear you out," which probably would be all Cyd could manage, "but not here." Last thing she was wanting was for anyone to accidentally overhear their conversation and start questioning her about what they heard or thought they heard.
