Taking a Break (Sort of)
Who: Ashleigh and Bridget
Where: Hollywood Hills
When: Saturday, March 5th
"I'm glad that you could come with me on such short notice," Ashleigh murmured as she and Bridget made the drive to Hollywood Hills early Saturday morning. Given that they were both ridiculously attached to their jobs, it was a surprise that both of them were able to take the weekend off. Although... in saying that, Ashleigh did have some Watcher business that prompted coming to L.A., but she hadn't mentioned that part to Bridget yet.
While it was true that Bridget Bale was the epitome of a classic workaholic, the woman jumped at the chance to escape on a weekend getaway with her girlfriend. Due to their busy work schedules neither had much time for the other, which was why they made the best of whatever little time they managed to catch to be with each other. Bridget intended to make the most of this weekend with Ashleigh. "I'm glad you asked me to join you on this last minute trip." Bridget responded with a smile. Bridget was soon turning the car onto the long drive of the house her father owned. It was presently vacant as her father had opted to move into smaller living quarters as he felt the house was too large for one person to reside in.
Ashleigh smiled warmly. "It seemed like too good an opportunity to pass up," she admitted. She'd adored spending time with Bridget from the very start. She was just a light and beautiful young woman, it was hard not to be attracted to that. "A weekend mostly just for us? I … don't actually think we've done that before." It seemed like a serious proposition, but... they'd been together for months now. Maybe it was time for the next step?
"Which is exactly why I cleared my schedule for the weekend to accompany you to L.A. Who knows when a chance at another weekend getaway will present itself." Bridget said cutting off the engine and then glancing over to Ashleigh with a smile. "I'm hoping to make the most of this weekend." If they would never leave the house that would suit Bridget just fine.
Ashleigh seemed to read Bridget's mind then and couldn't help it but smirk, before unclasping her seatbelt and leaning over to kiss Bridget on the cheek and then stepping out of the car and finally looking at the house that Bridget had driven them to. "Oh my." Yes, she was extraordinarily English, wasn't she? "This is quite lovely."
"You should see the view from the back." Bridget commented after she exited the vehicle. "Very quite scenic in my opinion." It was one of the things Bridget missed about living in the L.A. house. She'd often sit on the deck in the morning with that first cup of coffee and watch the sun rise to brighten the already gorgeous view.
"Well, we'll have to go out in the morning then," Ashleigh replied, seeming to have the same thought then, as well. It was amazing how well in synch they'd gotten, wasn't it? She collected their travel bags from the back seat and rounded the car, kissing Bridget briefly. "Unfortunately, I do have business that I have to get out of the way this morning. It shouldn't take more than an hour."
Those brief kisses were something Bridget planned on rectifying once they got settled into the house for the weekend. "I suppose I'll have to make do on my own then while you're gone." Bridget voice a bit unhappily as she helped Ashleigh bring the travel bags up to the house. Hopefully whatever business Ashleigh had would only take up about an hour of that morning and they'd be able to enjoy the rest of the weekend together.
Ashleigh followed Bridget into the house easily enough, pouting her full lips thoughtfully. She'd... clearly made a small mistake there, hadn't she? She probably should have told Bridget sooner, but... oh well. They were here now. She set her bag by the front door as soon as they entered the house. "You could always think of things for us to do while I'm gone," she suggested.
Bridget followed suit in setting her own travel bag down beside Ashleigh's just inside the door. "You don't think I haven't already done that." The brunette stated with a smile as she maneuvered herself in front of he girlfriend. "Let's just say first thing on our agenda for the weekend can now be a surprise for you." Bridget smiled fitting her arms around Ashleigh's waist and then gave the other woman a more fitting kiss then the ones she had herself previously received that morning.
Ashleigh moaned lightly into the kiss and loosely joined her arms around Bridget's neck, drawing it out for a moment. "Do I get a hint?" She purred in that soft, sultry accent of hers as her eyes fluttered open to meet Bridget's. She decided, suddenly, that whatever business she had to attend to... she'd better do it quickly.
"I think I just gave it." Bridget said with a soft smile and gentle caress to the other woman's cheek as she caught and held steadfast to Ashleigh's eyes. "Just try and get back as soon as possible."
"I'll be back before you can say antidisestablishmentarianism," Ashleigh joked lightly, quickly (and cheekily) snagging the car keys from Bridget's pocket, before collecting a file folder from her bag and heading out, shouting: "Promise!"
