Confrontation
Who: Paige and Lilly
When: Tuesday Afternoon, 3/1
Where: Lilly's Apartment
Since her talk with Patience, Lilly had been waiting for the right time to talk to Paige about the same stuff. She wanted the to confront each other, and make up/ beat the hell out of each other/ whatever and basically move on and not have this shit hanging over their heads. Right now, sitting in her studio apartment with Paige over some Chinese food, she gave her girlfriend and best friend a smile. "So, what have you been up to lately when I'm not around?"
"Mostly trying to have fun AND get some protecting in." Paige smirked then, shoveling in a mouthful of lo mein. "Oh, and cockblocking Jim. THAT'S always fun."
Lilly laughed at the last part. "Cockblocking Jim is a ton of fun," she admitted. Hell, just watching Paige do it was a blast and a half. "I...actually ran into Patience at Avarice the other night."
"Oh. Wonderful." Paige said with obvious sarcasm. "So, awesome lo mein, huh?"
"It's great," Lilly said, putting her chop sticks down. "Have you tried talking to her at all since she got back?" Even though she knew the answer, she wanted to see how Paige put it.
"No. Can't say I marvel at getting hurt again the NEXT fuckin' time she decides to book it outta town." Paige said without even TRYING to hide the bitterness.
"Look, I'm not saying that you necessarily need to get all pally-wally with her, but you do need to at least let her know, from your own mouth, that she hurt the fuck outta you," Lilly said, looking completely serious for a moment. "I already told her to stop being a bitch and do some damn talking to you. You need to do the same. This Patience thing is hanging over your head, and mine. And I think it's time that it gets resolved, whether it's you guys making up or beating the shit out of one another."
"Look, Lil. You're getting what YOU wanted here. She's not any kind of a presence in our relationship now." Uh-oh. Angry!Paige, comin' up. "Frankly, I don't care if she lays in the gutter and dies, ok? Leave it alone." She sighed as she threw her chopsticks down and stood.
Lilly stood right up with her. "No, what I want is for you to be happy. And you're not." She wasn't going to let Paige walk away from this right now. She could get as fucking angry as she wanted. "And I'm not leaving it alone until it's resolved. End of story. I'm not saying talking to her is gonna change your feelings about her. It'll just...put an end to it, if nothing else."
"Things were better before she came back. I don't give a fuck if you talk to her, if Ginny likes her now... I just want her to fucking go away. I gave her part of me. And she shit on me. Enough said. Now, I'm going to bed." She turned, trying not to look ready to cry.
Lilly grabbed Patience by the shoulders in an effort to keep her from getting away. "Hell, I don't WANT to talk to her. Everything I'm doing I'm doing for YOU. I'm doing this in some hope that you can resolve this part of you. You're always gonna be a part of each other because of what happened. It's something that, unfortunately, I can never really understand. But I can see that it's fucking with your brain to have her around here. If you just want to move away from her I'm happy to do that. Just...I want you to feel better." Lilly literally would do anything for Paige, apparently including facing down a demon or two.
"I appreciate what you did. And the fact the you did it knowing what she is fills me with pride." Paige sighed, shaking her head. "But I'm telling you this now. Leave it alone. I want her out of my fucking life. I'm happy now. I wanna STAY happy."
Lilly seemed to think on that for a moment before reaching up and hugging Paige as hard as she could for a moment. "If that's what you want, then fine," she said finally. "Just know that I'm here for you no matter what, OK?"
Paige hugged her back, trying to keep calm. "Other than like, Ginny, nobody WANTS her back. I wish she'd just... go back to wherever the hell she went."
"I know, sweetie," Lilly said, stroking her girlfriend's hair. Lilly personally wished that Patience had stayed away for her girlfriend's sanity. Still, they'd make due.
"If she comes to me..." Paige's expression grew dark then. "It COULD end up ok... but more than likely? You better have Whitmore's number handy."
"If she does get ballsy enough to come to you, just TRY to be OK. I have Stephanie's number just in case, but I believe you can hold back. I have faith in you to do that," Lilly said.
"And remember: if I flip my shit? Tell Whitmore to destroy me. No ifs, ands, or buts." Paige said, deadly serious.
Lilly nodded, but she prayed that, if it came to it, there would be some way to bring her back from the brink if it came to that.
"I don't get serious often... but know I love you, Maymin. More than I ever thought I could love ANYONE." Paige muttered, looking down towards the floor.
"I love you, too, Paige," Lilly told her. "I'm the same way as you. I love you more than I thought I could anyone. I'd face the fire of hell for you."
"Is it wrong that part of me regrets saving her? I wish I could just... take it back and somehow have that bond with YOU." She admitted, feeling a bit ashamed.
"Wrong? Maybe...but it's definitely an understandable feeling," Lilly told her. They hardly EVER talked like this, so it was definitely something new. "Is it something you can only do one time?"
"No... But its risky. Its not like turning someone into a vamp." Paige tried to explain. "TOO much can go wrong. It shouldn't be done except in life and death situations, and even THEN its not a good idea."
Lilly nodded. She understood that it was something dangerous. "What all can go wrong?" she asked. She might as well know this, right?
"You could die. Painfully. You could lose who you are, have TOO much of the demon aspect take over. Like it seems to be doing with HER." Paige growled at that.
"Makes sense." Sadly, she was still kind of willing to do it anyway to be closer to Paige. "I'd still do it, if need be," she admitted. "I'd do ANYTHING for you, Paige."
"I'll keep that in mind." The guitarist said with a nod. "Now... Just come lay with me? So I can think and calm down?"
"Sounds like a plan," Lilly said, mainly just feeling relieved that she had said her peace. If Paige really STILL didn't want to talk to Patience, so be it, she supposed. She had at least admitted her feelings and wasn't like, bottling.
