Semi-Date
Who: Abbi and Joshua
Where: Avarice
When: Feb. 23rd, Evening
Now that her... 'new' history was getting around more (you know, that she was the NIECE of the singer from Broken Sunrise...), Abbi McConnell was getting even more attention than she'd have been getting just being a gorgeous cheerleader. Quite a few people that passed her at Avarice either waved, or tried to talk her up, just trying to get in with her. While she found it both flattering AND vaguely insulting, it didn't truly matter tonight. Dressed in a flowing, knee-length white skirt with matching camisole, the perky blonde was here to meet a certain soldier she'd been... growing fairly sweet on. She'd left a message on Joshua's cell asking him to stop by if he had time, that she just wanted to see him. Now? Was the waiting game.
They had been hanging out together a little bit, but Joshua's job really did keep him busy a lot. He hadn't told Abbi exactly what he did yet, but, if he knew her real history, then it wouldn't be half as much of a deal as he was worried it would be. He walked inside, wearing a pair of clean jeans and a white button up, smiling at Abbi when he saw her. He headed over and took a seat next to her. "Hey," he said. "Having a good evening?"
"I definitely am NOW..." She replied sweetly, her voice almost a Patience-like purr, which was fairly funny when you think about it. "Sorry to leave a message like that out of the blue... but I was bored and just kind of thinking about you."
"Not a problem," he said to her. He actually didn't mind at all. Hell, he did LIKE seeing her, after all. "I've been thinking about you, too. Sorry I've been busy with work."
"You look very handsome tonight..." She said with a sweet smile, fluttering those eyelashes at him cutely. "And don't worry, I totally get it. Between school and practice, I've been busy a lot too. So... no time like now, hm?"
"Definitely no time like now," he said with a grin. "So how has school and such been treating you?" he asked her. He was curious about the majority of her life that he didn't get to see.
"It's been.... a little aggravating. There's a little clique in the cheerleading squad that are just... GOD, they're a bunch of catty beeyotches." Abbi rolled her eyes, thinking of Payton and the others. "Anyway. Tell about things in the REAL world."
"To my understanding you have a few of those in every cheerleading squad unfortunately." His sister had complained a little about them as well. "The real world...isn't really that interesting. It's mostly just work and sleep for me." And killing vampires occasionally.
"Somehow I doubt your life is even HALF as boring as you make it out to be, you know that?" Abbi laughed, giving him a dubious look. She couldn't place WHAT it was... but something seemed more than ordinary about this guy.
When he knew her a little better and could gauge her reaction, then he'd tell her WHY his life wasn't as boring as he sometimes made it seem. Of course, vampires were par for the course for him, too. "Maybe I'm just so used to it that it seems boring to me," he said playfully. Until he was a little more sure, though, he'd keep it to himself. He fully DID intend to tell her, though.
"Curiouser and curiouser, I swear..." She said to him with a little grin as she raised one eyebrow. When these two eventually got around to the various things that made them different? It was gonna be a SCREAM.
He simply laughed. Oh, when he found out just when she was from? He was just going to laugh. Then he would figure that she would COMPLETELY understand him a little better. He looked forward to that.
"So... mind just keeping me company for a few hours? I promise we'll have an official DATE soon... I just needed to get my mind off of things... and you were the first person that came to mind." Abbi gave a lopsided grin and blushed lightly.
He couldn't help but smile when she said that. "I'd be honored to keep you company for a few hours." He intended on taking her out on REAL dates, but he certainly didn't mind keeping her company in clubs, either. Why complain? He was still spending time with her, which is what he really wanted.
