Flirtin'
Who: Ginny and Kate (with a brief appearance by Kayla)
Where: Avarice
When: Saturday, February 12th
Alert the press! For once, Ginny Callaway was NOT hanging out in Eden! No, this Saturday evening, she was spending time in Avarice. Primarily due to a hoping to see Meredith so they could exchange some ideas for their new project, but still! And tonight, the usually goth-dressed girl was all metal'ed out: Second-skin leather pants that laced up the sides, a Runaways tee with a GOOD bit of the chest cut out (to show off that spectacular cleavage) were making the curvy brunette stand out to an almost ridiculous degree as she sashayed her way over to the bar to get a drink.
Now, because Ginny was dressed like that... well, Kate couldn't help but whimper audibly now, could she? The water elemental was currently behind the bar (since, y'know, it was her JOB) dressed in low-slung blue jeans and a V-Neck INXS t-shirt, her long blonde hair tied in a haphazard ponytail. Kayla muttered something into her ear, which prompted her to blush and thwap the other woman with a washcloth before looking over to Ginny. "What can I get for ya?" She asked with a big, infectious grin, her Texan accent coming out strong there.
Ginny gave a tiny wave and smile to Kayla, since she knew the girl was a big fan of Coma White, then looked at Kate with that entirely-too-sweet smile. "Glass of red wine please? Whatever kind you have is fine."
Kayla winked at Ginny and went off to serve a few other customers, her smile faltering slightly. Kate frowned but politely didn't comment on it, instead getting a bottle of red from under the bar and corking it for Ginny, before pouring a glass and setting it in front of her. "You gotta make it harder for me next time," she teased.
"....is Kayla ok?" Ginny asked, giving a small frown. "She seems sad..."
"I couldn't tell you," Kate replied with a shrug. "She's hard to read sometimes." She glanced over to Kayla then, silently appraising her. "She'll come around. She usually does."
"I know... I just hate seeing people I like looking sad. Anyway! Are you new here? I haven't come here for a while, but I know we've never met..." The pale beauty grinned brightly and extended a hand to her. "I'm Ginny."
"Kate," the blonde replied, giving Ginny's hand a gentle shake. She had slightly calloused fingers, which indicated that she worked with her hands rather frequently. "And I've been here since... September, I think? If you know Patience... I was pretty much hired to replace her."
How cute was it that Ginny BLUSHED then? "I... yes. I know Patience." Heh. In a biblical way, especially. "Well. I certainly hope you're enjoying it here. I know the Bales tend to take good care of their own, so... you should be in good hands. You have striking eyes, by the way." Ginny said with a smile, just... always the type to point out the best features of others.
"Ben's a good boss," Kate replied with a nod, noting the blush, but again, too polite to point it out. She was a bit more of a firecracker when she was drunk, but sadly that didn't happen often. "Thank you," she said to the compliment, adding: "I'd just about KILL for your lips." Who thought she was going to say another body part then, hm? "Suppose I should help Kay... are you gonna be around for a bit?"
"I.... could be." She said with JUST a hint of flirtiness there, those lips curling into a little grin.
"Well, I hope so," Kate replied with a surprised little smile before walking off to help Kayla, actually daring to tug at her hair and asking the woman to smile for her. It wasn't successful. So, about twenty minutes later, she resorted to dirty tactics and flashed her. Witnesses be damned. Kayla gaped at her and then laughed. "Success! I win!" Was it any wonder that she fit in well here, hm?
"Well damn... didn't think you had that in you!" Ginny laughed, surprised there. "No wonder you get on so well here..." Ok, and did she envy Kayla's view there? Maaaaybe.
"It took me a while t'get into the swing of things," the blonde admitted with a small smirk while serving a few guys some beers, not at all surprised that they were gaping at her. "Plus, it helps that I know her type. Ten bucks says she won't stop blushing all night now."
"That's kind of adorable." Ginny admitted, with a little giggle. "Although in all fairness, you're pretty much anyone's type. Blonde, all-American type, beautiful eyes, nice figure.... they'd have to be BLIND for you not to be their type."
"Well, thank you," Kate replied, smiling softly as she made change for the group of guys. "Sadly, I'm picky. Must be kind, love animals and be good with kids. Female, obviously. Between 18 and 30. Killer smile... Like I said. Picky."
"Mm. If you add 'deathly pale' and 'bearing freaky scars' to the list, you'd almost be talking about me there..." The curvy singer laughed, shrugging as she batted her eyelashes a little. Ok, so she was hitting on the bartender a little now. She couldn't help it! She had a thing for blondes, ok? Anyone remember Irene? Anyone?
Kate laughed and tilted her head to the side. "Well, those things I consider on a case-by-case basis. I take them very seriously." She tried to nod sternly then but couldn't help it but smile.
"You are seriously ADORABLE, you know that?" Ginny asked with a hilariously girly giggle, resting her chin in her palm as she batted those big eyes at the bartender.
"Nooo, I think that'd be *you*," Kate replied, that sweet smile still in place as she realized, gasp, that they were flirting. When was the last time that she seriously flirted with someone? Well, only the mun knows for now, so stop being so damn inquisitive.
"GOD I am so horribly bad at flirting. Seriously. I'm so confident and GRRRR when I'm onstage, but then I try to deal with real life and turn into a blithering idiot. You should have SEEN me at Eden a few weeks ago when this gorgeous DJ tried flirting with me. I had to have seemed mildly retarded." Ginny admitted, hanging her head in defeat.
Kate laughed, managing to serve a few people in her area AND keep the conversation going. Skill, eh? "Well, I'm not usually the type to one up someone, but I've totally got you beat. If I'm not here, I spend most of my time with an eight year old and most of OUR conversations? Are about Pokemon... or Digimon... a lot of Japanese cartoons, come to think of it. So flirting? Not something I get the opportunity to do very often."
"That might be the most adorable thing I've ever heard. You sound like a wonderful mom, you know. Too many mothers... just don't care about their children." She said with a SLIGHTLY dark tone, trying not to dwell on her own past.
Kate caught onto the tone, but was never the type to pry. Instead, she placed a hand over Ginny's and gave it a gentle squeeze. "A lot of love goes a long way." She smiled faintly. "I'll tell you about him sometime."
"I'd love it. I gotta say... if you work here often? Expect me to be here a lot more than I used to be." Aww... now that was sort of sweet, eh? "And seriously... tell Kayla if she doesn't cheer up, that you and I will BOTH flash her. And that visual could bring NATIONS to their knees."
"Well, I don't know about nations..." Kate blushed. Awr. She sucked on her lip thoughtfully and decided... well, there was no harm in asking, was there? "Would it be... stupidly forward if I asked for your number?"
"No... I think.... I think it would be JUST forward enough." Ginny said with a slight blush, scribbling her cell phone number down on a napkin and pushing it toward her. "Don't dillydally! I'm seeming to be in popular demand these days!" She teased, knowing that Meredith and Patience both seemed to... 'enjoy' her company, plus Hanna had seemed VERY interested...
"I can see why," Kate replied, which was... honest of her. Still blushing, she folded the napkin and put it in a safe place (inside her bra). "If all else fails... I'll settle for being your friend, though."
"I think it sounds like a no-lose situation for me, then." The raven-haired beauty replied with a slight curl of those plump lips. "And for the record? You really ARE stunning. Absolutely, in fact."
"Who says you're bad at flirting?" Kate smiled warmly, catching Ginny's eyes then. Talk about 'gulp' right there, huh? "But thank you. ...I think I'll reserve the rest of my compliments for when I call you."
"I'll be waiting. Trust me on that." Ginny replied with a simple, sweet wink, before getting up and walking towards the other side of the club, where she was supposed to meet Meredith...
Kate tilted her head to the side and whimpered audibly as she watched Ginny walk away.
"GOD, you're gay for her," Kayla muttered with a cheeky smirk.
"Hush, you!" Kate replied, thwapping her with a washcloth again.
