Putting Out the Feelers
Who: Sin and Catherine
Where: Catherine and Brandon's apartment
When: Sunday Night, 1/30
"Yo! Cat! You in there? Your bestie comes equipped with sob stories, hilarious tales of lameness, and a desire to have some Chick Flick style bonding." Sin stood at the door of Catherine and Brandon's apartment, arms crossed cutely as she seemed... ready to either laugh or cry. Which? We're NOT quite sure.
Keegan was out with Brandon actually doing some grocery shopping (the girl may eat them out of house and home), so Catherine was actually home alone. Hearing her friend announcing herself, Cat walked over and opened the door. "Everything OK?" she asked, stepping aside and letting Sin walk in.
"Dude. To quote Marcellus Wallace, things are pretty effin' far from ok." She snarked, stomping in, looking (as usual lately) a bit more feminine in a knee-length black skirt, gray form-fitting sweatshirt, and pink sneakers. "I'm so jealous of you it ain't even FUNNY."
"Well damn," Catherine said. "You're jealous of me when, in the span of a week or so, I run over a hooker, take her into my home, and have my door kicked in by a pimp. That's impressive." OK, she was being an ass. "Tell me what's up."
"Sadly? I AM." She laughed, sitting her little ass down like she owned the place, kicking her feet up on the arm of the sofa. "Because through it all? At least you have someone that loves you. A freakin' HOTTIE that loves you, no less. Me? I go from being engaged to being turned down for sex by a guy who generally sits in the caf and plays his Game Boy every day. Eff my life, man."
"Then that's his problem because you're a gorgeous girl who deserves better," Catherine pointed out to her. "Now, who's the idiot who plays his Game Boy everyday but doesn't think well enough to have sex with you?" OK, really, that just sounded ridiculous to her.
"Nate Hargrove. Claims I'm like... his dream girl, but then when I tried to seduce him, he gives me some spiel about wanting it to mean something." She sighed. "When you know damn WELL if someone like Lucy tried, he'd be jumping for JOY." Sin didn't mind pouting and being a whiny shit around Catherine... they shared everything. "Seriously. You have a freakin' GORGEOUS guy who worships you. So yes. I'm envious."
Catherine rolled her eyes. "Some boys, when presented with their actual dream, like, flip out and run away," she pointed out. As if she knew any guy other than Brandon. "And I lucked up in finding him, but you'll find someone who's actually worth your time." She sat down on the sofa beside Sin and leaned her head against her friend's shoulder. "Someone at some point is going to be worth you."
"I dunno... I mean, the only boy that ever liked me was an immortal half-dragon. What does that say about me? I wish I was sexy like you or Meredith... it'd be SO much easier." She sighed, leaning against Catherine for comfort.
"Nothing wrong with a half-dragon liking you," Catherine pointed out. "Maybe people like you and me can't get with normal humans. I mean, I'm with a werewolf. That family is full of them. Want a Bale?" She was being playful, but there WERE a lot of them.
"Got one just like Brandon?" She snorted, rolling her eyes. "Because he's probably the most handsome one in the group. Seriously."
"Well, I agree, obviously," she pointed out. "That's just me." Cat grinned. "Don't worry so much." She reached over and rested a hand on Sin's knee.
"Seriously. I feel like the most unattractive chick in the school. And yes, that includes all 250 pounds of Suzy Franklin." She sighed comically, not really registering the hand. Hell, they were best friends, right? Catherine was just trying to comfort her...
Even though she was wanting to bring a girl into her bed, Catherine was only about half aware of what she was doing. "Well, you're hardly the most unattractive girl in the school. I can promise you that."
"I hope so. I'm not saying I wanna run out and get married... I just wanna feel, I dunno... WANTED." She whined a little, kinda latching onto Catherine cutely.
Catherine slipped her arms around Sin's waist, kind of holding her for a moment. "I totally get what you mean," she said.
"You do? Come on... I've seen how Brandon looks at you... you gotta feel wanted EVERY FREAKIN' DAY, girl." Sin replied, giving her a 'bitch please' kind of expression.
"I know, but that doesn't mean I don't know where you're coming from. I didn't always have him, after all," Catherine pointed out. "Plus, every girl wants to feel wanted."
"My friend TJ always jokingly hits on me... I told her if she keeps it up I may HAVE to give in, just because I can't seem to find any GUYS that hit on me that much..." She sighed again, looking at the floor. "I'm sorry for being so... whiny. But I gotta let it out SOMETIME, you know?"
"I'm your best friend. You're supposed to come to me when you're upset," Catherine pointed out. "Thinking about crossing over to the dark side?" She asked playfully.
"Not really... just... I guess I'm willing to do what it takes to find SOMEONE I connect with, you know? And damn... we all got needs, right?" She asked quickly, blushing, as though defending herself.
"As long as you find someone you connect with, that's what matters, right?" Cat asked. "Besides, I've even been curious about girls a little lately."
"See? And if YOU'RE even thinking about it... maybe nobody *is* totally straight. Or maybe I'm just scrambling because I'm tired of being alone."
"I'm starting to think the same thing. Maybe no one's truly straight," Cat agreed. "Well...why don't we try an experiment then?See if either of us like girls at all?" Now...where was THIS going?
"...what kind of 'experiment' are you talkin' about?" Sin arched an eyebrow, wondering if her friend had lost her everlovin' mind. "You DO remember the uber-gorgeous guy you got, right? Is anything worth risking losing THAT?"
Cat giggled. "I'm not talking like sex!" she pointed out. "Ive actually already talked to Brandon about it a little. He's a boy. Of course he likes the idea of me with another girl. He digs the idea of four boobs being more than two. And all *I* was talking between us was a kiss. See if we even like girls. Other than Brandon, I trust you the most, after all."
Sin blinked at her... and a hundred thousand thoughts went through her head at once. "I... I have NO idea how to answer that. Is it wrong that I want to say yes not because I've been dying to, but because I feel lonely enough to give anything a shot?"
Catherine seemed to think on that for a moment before shrugged. "I know you're lonely. I wouldn't want to damage our friendship in any way, though. So, I guess this is something that's going to be up to you."
"Why not? Not like you're gonna force anything on me... and I *do* trust you more than anyone..." She did, too. For all the mouthiness she showed, Catherine was her best friend.
She nodded. "Then let's try it," Catherine said. "If it doesn't work...no worries, right?" She was excited to try it, that was for sure.
Sin grinned broadly at Catherine's excitement, as honestly? After the debacle with Nate, this was at least making her feel desired again. "Screw it. Go for it, babe. Seriously. Lay one on me."
Smiling, Catherine did just that, leaning forward and planting her lips on Sin's, parting them slightly so that she could slip her friend a little tongue as well.
Well HELLO! Cant say Sin was expecting THAT part, at least not right away like that. Still, she went with the flow, and tilted her head, letting herself enjoy it, as hell... she had to admit, Catherine was a HELL of a kisser. After a few moments, the smaller girl pulled back, grinning broadly but blushing adorably. "...wow."
Catherine wasn't quite as shocked that Sin was a good kisser, but was pleasantly surprised just the same. When she pulled back, she was smiling, too. "Yeah, definitely 'wow,'" she agreed.
"Well? At least now I can safely say I'm roughly like 97.4% of other women in Los Angeles..." She said with a bratty smirk, sitting back a bit as she tried unsuccessfully to hide her blush.
Catherine reached out and brushed a bit of Sin's hair out of her face. "You and me both, I suppose," she said with a grin. "And I'm sure it's more like...99% if we're going to be honest."
"Well... alright. So... not that I minded trying this, but be honest with me here: where are you goin' with this?" Sin asked, raising an eyebrow as she knew Catherine well enough to know she NEVER did something just on basic curiosity.
"Well, I *did* bring up the idea of doing a threesome with Brandon," she told her friend. "I *have* been curious about girls for a little while, though. I just wouldn't do anything without talking to him about it first, you know?"
People? Remember. Despite her snarkiness? Sin rarely swore. "......are you fucking SERIOUS?" She blurted out, eyes going wide. "I mean... you know damn WELL I think Brandon's flippin' GORGEOUS... but... we... I mean... you wouldn't... I dunno... you wouldn't get all jealous and wanna beat me to my last breath if I touched him?"
Catherine actually paused and gave it some thought. She had all but tried to kill people in the past for doing so much as looking at her boyfriend, after all. Finally, she said, "I trust you. I know you aren't going to try and steal him out from under me or anything. I wouldn't beat you up." Not like she couldn't defend herself, anyway.
"Wow. So... you won't kill me on the spot if I admit I've always kinda wished I *could* know what it's like to be with him?" She asked, wincing and sorta waiting for Catherine to backhand her.
Catherine didn't backhand her, instead just giggled. "Well, I did realize that I was dating a good looking man, after all," she pointed out. "I'm not blind, after all."
"Ok... make you a deal then." Sadly... this really WAS a sign of how lonely and undesirable the girl had felt lately. "I'll do it... but if I feel weird or icky doing anything with YOU... then for the rest of the time it's... you know... going on... me and you don't bump uglies. Deal?"
Unfortunately, Catherine hadn't been thinking clear headed enough for a while to catch that. "Deal then," she said with a smile. She was pretty sure that she could keep Sin comfortable enough to keep things going fine, though.
