Meeting the Sexy DJ
Who: Hanna and Ginny
Where: Eden
When: Monday, Jan. 24, Evening
Ginny, while normally the type to hang out at Eden ANYWAY, was actually there tonight as a promotional event. Ben had arranged something with the DJs there and with Lillith, to play all songs by Full Moon Records artists for the night, and as a reward to the club, Ben would have some of the artists in attendance, to greet fans and bring in some more people that might not have been there ordinarily. One of the ones who agreed happily to the event, Ginny was sitting at a table alone (she HAD been sitting with Lilly and Paige, but now the two were off mingling with fans), wearing a tight black dress, slit up to the hip, with a black leather corset top. Think Meredith was starting to have an influence on the girl? Geez.
Like that was a bad thing, if Ginny was dressing like THAT. Anyways, Hanna had been spinning records for the first part of the evening, but, when her shift was over, she headed down to the crowd to start mingling a bit with some of the people running around. When she saw Ginny, she headed over to her. "Hey! Ginny, right?" she asked. "I'm Hanna, by the way. I'm one of the DJs here."
Ginny kind of did a cute 'deer-in-headlights' thing when Hanna first approached, before giving that sparkling smile and extending a hand. "Hi... yeah, I'm Ginny. It's nice to meet you. Just doing this whole promotional thing my manager wanted us to do..."
Hanna had a habit of just kinda 'jumping' people, honestly. "Nice to meet you as well, finally," she said to her with a grin. "Mind if I join you?" she asked. "Don't want to be a bother or anything."
"Finally?" She asked, again (cutely) kind of forgetting that she was becoming a mini-celebrity to people. "And no, no bother... I'm here to mingle, after all!" She said with a little giggle.
"Well duh, you're like, totally awesome with the music and such," Hanna said, then rolled her eyes. "And I'm great with words, obviously." She sat down with her at the table.
"So, you're one of the ones that got the 'awesome' task of spinning nothing but our label's bands tonight, hm?" Ginny asked with a small amount of sarcasm, knowing most DJs haaaated being more or less told what to play all night.
"Yeah," she said to her with a grin. "Not that I mind, since it's a lot of what I play, anyway." It was true. Hanna happened to love all of the bands that were on Full Moon Records. All the DJs did, so it was far less of a problem than one might imagine. "Well, other than Haylee James. I'm not one for pop music, but other than that, love it all."
"You're a sweetheart." Ginny replied, smiling sweetly. "I know a lot of our fans are a little... upset that Coma White is going to become more of a side project, but I like to think they'd rather have that than have us not back together at all..."
Hanna nodded. "Most people that I've talked to are glad that as long as you guys are still going to put some stuff out, better that than nothing at all, you know?" she agreed. "Plus, I hear you've got something cooking up with the guitarist from Suicide Messiah, which I personally can't wait to hear."
"Well... actually? THAT is going to be my primary project for now. Coma White... it's mostly for my demons. And I don't have enough rage in me to keep that up constantly. Also?" She sighed, hating to admit this. "That roar... I love it, but it kills my voice. If I try to do that consistently, I'll have no voice by the time I'm 40."
Hanna chuckled. "I can understand that, both the purging of demons and the killer voice," she said. "So, the new project a little more...calm? Is that the right word?"
"Not calm... just..." Ginny looked for the words, before feeling a LITTLE dorky here. "If you can sort of picture a mix of Joan Jett, Heart, and Pat Benatar, but more a little more metal to it."
"Actually, I think I get you," Hanna said with a grin. "So, care if I try to get into the head of the legendary Ginny?" she teased. "I've been dying to talk to you."
"Legendary. Dear lord." She giggled though, blushing lightly. "By all means, ask away." She looked over to Paige and Lilly, and had to smile at how close they'd gotten.
"Legendary to me, and isn't that what counts?" Hanna asked playfully. "Anyways, what do you do other than music? I mean, got any hobbies? You a knitter or a reader or anything?"
"I read, and I love to take photos." She said, seeming as... well... un-rock star as humanly possible. "And hang out with my friends... although sometimes, it's hard to pry them apart..."
Hanna cast a glance toward Lilly and Paige. "Yeah, I can imagine," she said. The two of them looked like they were five seconds from molesting one another in the middle of the club. "You take photos? Like, what of? You a portrait girl or landscapes or what?"
"Anything I find beautiful. Landscapes, buildings, people..." She said, kind of catching herself staring, and feeling a HUGE blush coming on.
Hanna gave her a grin. "Want me to pose for you something?" she asked playfully, putting one hand behind her head and the other on her waist and jutting her chest out playfully. "I can be quite beautiful." OK, so she was playing, but she WAS gorgeous.
"You... yeah... you certainly can." Ginny stammered a bit, trying not to blush. "So... how long have you worked here?"
Hanna giggled. "Been working here about six months or so," she said to Ginny. "Hard to see me back there behind all of that equipment. Hard to see out into the crowd, too, actually."
"No... trust me... when you're out here?" Ginny said with a hint of awe. "It's realllly hard NOT to notice you."
Hanna smirked. "Is that so?" she asked. "Look, I don't know if this is gonna come across as forward or anything, but you wanna go out sometime?" Might as well not beat around the bush."
"....you're seriously asking me out?" Ginny blinked, as well... that didn't happen too often. Whether people were intimidated by her or just assumed she had someone, she wasn't actually asked out very often. "I... think I'd have to be fairly stupid to say no..."
Hanna laughed. "Why wouldn't I ask you out? You're hot and talented. I'd be an idiot to not ask you out." Had she also heard recently that she was single? Hell yes, and was going to take advantage while she could. Advantage as in ask her out, that is.
"Then sure... my schedule is a little hectic, so don't be upset if it's tough making plans at first..." Aww... she was already worried about offending or aggravating the other girl...
"Ginny, I totally understand that you've got like, a ton of work and stuff," Hanna said to her with a wave of her hand. "We'll work something out, OK?"
Ginny nodded, still in a liiiiittle bit of shock there. "A-Alright... sounds like fun. What would you like to do?"
"Well...," Hanna said, thinking and chewing on her lip for a second in thought. "Wanna keep it kinda low key? You know, like coffee or something?" She figured keep it stress free for a first date, right?
"Anything you'd like. Oh, GOD..." Ginny went wide-eyed as she noticed then that Paige was watching them, smirking as she said something to Lilly. "I... should warn you... I suspect that before we end up going out, my guitarist is going to interrogate you. And she can be.... a little intimidating."
Hanna arched an eyebrow, turning around and looking at Paige and Lilly. "Awesome," she said, and it almost even sounded like she meant it. "Yeah, she's a little scary sometimes." OK, all the time, but whatever, right?
"You have no idea." Ginny grumbled, seeing Paige smirking again. The bitch. "I'm so sorry if I keep staring... you're just so... well... pretty..."
Hanna laughed and shook her head. "Don't worry. I'm going to be staring at you a good bit on our date, too. You're pretty darn pretty yourself," she told her.
"Thank you..." Ginny felt a little overwhelmed, but in a good way. This was all so... unexpected. "Feel free to stare all you want." She giggled, honestly feeling totally confident in her looks.... especially when she had her gloves on.
Hanna laughed. "No problem there," she said to Ginny. "I'll definitely do my share of staring. Just hope I don't make it all weird and creepy or anything like that." That would totally suck if she like, scared her off or anything like that.
"No... I worry more that we'll end up staring at each other and not TALKING." Oh god, could you imagine?
"Oh my GAWD that would be hilarious wouldn't it?" Hanna asked with a snort. "Well, hilarious and sad, but you get my point, right? And no worries, I'm kind of a chatterbox, if you haven't already guessed."
"It's alright... if you'd meet Suicide Messiah's drummer, she's far, far worse." Ginny snickered, honestly wondering if ANYONE talked more than Chloe.
No one talked more than Chloe. That was just a scientific fact right there. "I gotta meet someone who talks more than me. Seriously. I didn't know they MADE those," she said with a smirk.
"What about Friday night? I have to meet with Meredith to work on a few songs..." Wellllll... there was a CHANCE of more than that going on, but shhh. "But after that, I'm free."
Hanna nodded. "Friday night is perfect," she said. She pulled a pen out of her purse and scribbled down her number on a napkin. "In case you need to call me," she said, handing the napkin over to Ginny.
"Need to? Doubtful." Ginny said, before giving a bright smile. "Now... WANT to? Definitely."
Hanna laughed. "Feel free to call me whenever then," she said to Ginny.
