Reunion
Who: Jack and Natalie
Where: Avarice
When: Monday Night, 1/24
It had been a little while since Jack and Natalie had gotten the chance to actually see each other, since she was out on a minor tour at the moment. One was coming up for Jack as well, so, when she got home tonight, he kind of intended to spend as much time as he could with her before he headed out. Right now he was waiting for her to meet him at the bar, sipping at a beer (probably his only one for tonight, thank you), listening to the music, and talking to a few people as they came up to him and chatted his ever loving head off about something or another.
When Natalie came in, she looked like some gothy prom queen. She wore a flared-out, strapless black nylon-and-lace dress, the tattoos all along her right arm and shoulder exposed. Walking RIGHT over to Jack, she sweetly kissed him on the cheek and sat down next to him. "Do you have ANY idea how much I missed you? I think Remy teased me about it the whole time we were gone."
Gothy prom queen or not, Jack simply thought that she looked gorgeous. "I'm sure at least about as half as much as I missed you," he admitted, giving her a hug when she sat down beside him. If the version of him from a few years ago heard him talking like this? He probably would have gagged. Now he could give less of a damn. "You look amazing, by the way."
"Why thank you, kind sir!" She said with a light giggle, sliding in next to him to get some snuggles. One thing about Natalie: for how epic and gothy her music was, she was the most affectionate, lighthearted woman around. "How've things been lately?"
"Up and down," he admitted. "Been dealing with Pat, which, up until like, two weeks ago, seemed ready to throw himself in front of a bus." Only a trip to Vegas had cheered him up, and kind of in the most unexpected way possible. "Plus, ran into...well, my niece, for the first time in years." His brother was a part of his life that he RARELY talked about, after all.
"...sounds like I missed a lot..." Natalie said with a slight frown. "Is Pat alright? And... you have a niece?"
"You kind of did," Jack admitted. "Pat's fine...now. His wife dumped him and...well, to be blunt, he met a time duplicate of her in Vegas and is now setting up shop there with her." He gave a slight grin. "I have no idea how to explain it, either. Just...kinda glad it happened, honestly." As for the other part. "I got a brother that I might talk to once a year. We don't really have anything in common. If anything, it seemed like he rebelled from the family by becoming a lawyer, if that makes sense. I ran into my niece at a grocery store, and she chewed me out for not finding anything to talk to him about."
"I will never, EVER, understand the lives we lead. Not if I live to be a hundred." She said with a small blink. "Well.. as long as he's happy." Natalie sighed, wondering if we now had a horribly angry DJ on our hands here... "And I'm sure your niece and yourself can work something out. Maybe I could talk to her, woman to woman, if you think it might help."
"I'm not sure I will either, but Pat's happy, so I can't argue with results," he said with a shrug. And they HAD an angry DJ on their hands, but soon enough she'd be fine...but WHATEVER. "If you want, you can try. I *do* need to talk to my brother, even if we don't see eye to eye on certain things."
"See if she'd like to meet with me. Get to know each other... see if we can get her to see the great guy that *I* see when I look at you." D'aww. What a sweetheart, hm?
He gave her a smile. "I'll ask her about it then," he said to her, leaning over and giving her a quick kiss.
"You're lucky I love you." She said with a playful grumble. "Cos you look better in eyeliner than I do and it makes me grumpy."
He snorted. "I'm not sure if that's something I should brag about or be ashamed of," he joked to her.
"You just have gorgeous eyes!" She said with a laugh, thwapping him playfully. "Not that... the REST of you is too bad either..." Ut-oh... She was getting THAT tone...
He laughed when she swatted at him. "And they rest of you is gorgeous as well, including your eyes."
"Well..." Oh dear... "I was wonderin' if you wanted to go back to your place and get reminded of how gorgeous the REST of me is..."
He grinned at her. "Now that's something that I totally think we should do," he said to her, turning around and paying for his tab.
Luckily, Natalie wasn't the 'public smut' kind of gal, or they'd honestly have not even made it out the door. Thankfully... she was far classier than she looked. "Let's go then... we have some catching up to do..."
As soon as he laid the cash on the table (plus a hefty tip), he grinned at her and stood up. "Fantastic. Let's get the hell out of here, then," he said to her.
