Moving On Now
Who: Baily and Jarrod
Where: Avarice
When: Monday Night, 1/17
Now Baily was pulling something of a Pat. Since the two of them had split up, she had been doing a fair amount of drinking. Well, and playing Stryper, because she was just generally pissy. She had split up from what had been at least a decent relationship for him, and he had found another Patience to run off with. Sure, she had told him that they could be friends someday, and maybe they could, but right now she'd like to wallow in her own misery a bit. Sitting with her third beer, she sat quietly on one of her off nights as she listened to the music playing over the loud speakers.
Now, Jarrod on the other hand, was on cloud nine. He'd won the biggest fight of his young career the other night, using the new finisher he'd come up with, and had beaten a demon called Korvesh, to become the new #1 contender to the SFA Championship. Wearing a black silk shirt and immaculate navy jeans with a thick silver necklace and bracelet, the young vampire strutted into Avarice like he OWNED the place.
Even in her dark cloud of moodiness, Baily couldn't help but catch the cocky vampire as he walked inside, merely watching him with an arched eyebrow as he strutted into the club. At least someone was having a good night.
While he'd STARTED to walk over toward a little punk girl in the corner, Jarrod paused when he noticed Baily looking at him. He liked when she DJed, and honestly? He just thought she was smoking hot. Walking over to her, he sat down beside her, smirking in a hilariously Ben-like way.
"You know, you're WAY too sexy to look so sad, babe..."
God. He really did sound a bit too much like her cousin. "More pissed than sad," she told him. "Kinda just got dumped."
"Do you need to be with someone that stupid?" He asked bluntly. "Girl as talented and hot as you... I doubt the moron found someone BETTER..."
A slightly bitter grin spread across her face. "Apparently not," she said to him. "You look like you're having a much better night than I. Have a good fight?" She had watched him fight before.
"Hell yes. You're lookin' at the next World Champion, baby. Just earned my title shot." He grinned, proudly. "And why don't you let me make the night better for you? Be my date tonight."
She chuckled. "You really think you can make my night all that better?" she asked him.
"Yeah. I think being with someone who realizes what a catch you are is exactly what you need." He grinned.
"Really? You realize just what a catch I am?" she asked him, leaning her head onto one of her hands as she propped it up on the bar. "And just what sort of catch is that, pray tell?"
"Well. You're a hell of a DJ, a damn sexy woman, plus you got the whole 'animal' thing going for you..." He tapped his nose, letting her know he could tell what she was. "Basically? You're probably the best thing going in here."
She chuckled. "At least some people aren't completely blind," she said to him with a smile, and probably the first real smile she'd let show for a little while. "Fine, I'll be your date for the night, buddy," she said to him.
"Jarrod." He said, extending a hand to her. "But the, you probably knew that."
She shook his hand. "I did know that," she said to him with a slight smile. "I've watched you fight before."
Taking her hand, he brought it to his cold lips. "I used to love watching you up in that booth, even when I was human..."
"That so?" she asked. "Maybe you should have said something before then." Could have saved her a little bit of trouble, in all honesty.
"You were always around that biker-lookin' kid back then. Plus, I was too focused on school AND training." He laughed, kind of surprised she had no problem with what she HAD to know he was.
Because she really cared about him being a vampire. Really. Whatever. Maybe she should have stuck to her 'no humans' stance in the first place, eh? "Well, he's not around anymore," she said simply.
"Then I consider myself damn lucky." He thought about it and gave that cocky smirk. "Actually... I consider us BOTH lucky."
"Maybe we both are lucky," she said, grabbing her beer with her free hand and standing up. "So, you wanna show your date a good time or what?"
"Hell yes. Dance with me?" He asked, motioning towards the dance floor as a slow, driving Type O Negative song came on.
She tipped her head back and finished off the rest of her beer, setting the bottle on the bar. "Sounds like a plan," she said to him with a grin.
As they got out there, he set his strong hands at her hips, giving a playful squeeze there. "Gotta admit, like I said... Kinda wanted this for a good while now..."
She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and grinded to the music with him, giving him a grin when he squeezed her hips. "Very much wish you had said something before," she told him as she continued to dance.
"Heh. Yeah... I *am* a handsome bastard, ain't I?" Well... Certainly not lacking in confidence...
"And oh so humble, too." Of course she was going to call him on it. Did she mind? Not at all. But it was fun to pick on people a little bit.
"When you're as hot as we are? Why pretend we don't know it?" Well god DAMN... Did Jarrod have a point? He grinned and let his hands trail down a liiiitle lower, to rest on her behind.
She didn't swat his hand away or anything, so let's just take that as a good sign, shall we? "Hmm...good point," she said, pulling him a little closer to her as she continued to dance.
Giving her rear a flirty little squeeze, he whispered into her ear: "gal as sexy as you should never be so depressed she needs to lose herself in booze. What can I do to cheer you up?"
She smirked when he asked what he could do to cheer her up. "Bathroom, wait thirty seconds then follow me," she said, pulling away and heading toward the restrooms, actually heading into the male one, since no one was in it.
Well holy FUCK. Jarrod was expecting to hear 'kiss me' or 'tell me again how beautiful I am' or something like that. With a loud chuckle, he nodded, watching her go.
