Cybering Can Make Yo Go Blind
Who: Janna, Jaycen and Mustang Sally
Where: Jaycen's Room and Cyberspace
When: Friday Evening, January 21
Recently, since moving in temporarily with Ben & Skylar, Jaycen Crosby had been feeling a little out of sorts. Janna had fit in well enough, and somehow... seemed to be bonding to Ben a bit. Sure, he had no idea it was in a "she was about to become a personal mercenary for him" kind of way, but still! So, while in the guest room that was currently serving as his bedroom, the teen sat at his desk, typing away on a small laptop computer, staring intently at the screen.
"You know staring at the screen like that for any amount of time will make you go blind." Janna teased her brother as she entered his room and found him staring at the monitor screen seemingly in his own little world. She had just finished a work-out session in the gym and after a nice hot shower, Janna had went off in search of her sibling who she found, as expected, in his room.
"Oh, har har har, sis." Jaycen said, without looking up from the screen, where he had just typed,
NotVoorhees: Sorry, brb. Sister pestering me.'
"Ok, so... what's going on? Done hanging with your new BFF for now?" He asked, still thinking she and Ben were just... becoming buddies or something.
MustangSally: Okay.
"Just because my job requires me to spend a lot of time with Benjamin Bale doesn't necessarily equate to him being my BFF. I'm his personal driver, nothing more dear brother." Janna informed her younger sibling with a partial truth. "Anyway, what are you doing online that's got you so captivated?" Janna inquired moving closer to her brother to see just exactly what he had gotten himself into. Porn most likely as that was what interested most guys her brother's age, unless they had hot girfriends and didn't need the subsitute, which she didn't think her brother had as he was sitting home alone on a Friday night instead of being out on a date.
"Just talking to someone, if you must know." He muttered, raising a brow to her. His sister was a DRIVER? Please. SOMETHING was going on... "Just a girl I've been getting to know."
"Really?" Janna arched a brow at that and glanced over her brother's shoulder. "And does this girl have a name other then..... Mustang Milly." If he had been trying to get to know the girl, if the person corresponding with her brother was indeed a girl, then he should have at least a first name.
"SALLY, Janna." He said, hilariously annoyed there. "Mustang Sally. It's just her screen name." Aw... was someone a little defensive? "You're not gonna sit there and mock me about this, are you?"
"No," at least she wasn't going to stick around now and tease her brother about some girl he met online. Though that wasn't to say she wouldn't tease him intensely at another time. "I am going to caution you if you're considering meeting her face to face. Who knows she might turn out to be some thirty year old bored housewife." Or not a woman at all. And it would really piss Janna off if someone was purposely messing with her brother or considered doing him harm by getting Jaycen to meet them somewhere.
"Don't worry. If it ends up being some 40 year old dude named Jake or something, I'll be sure to send him your way." Jaycen said with a snarky grin, knowing she meant well but wanting to add some levity before she got TOO overprotective. "We're just... both lonely, that's all. She's sweet." He then typed,
NotVoorhees: My sister is afraid you're just someone messing with me. Don't worry, she means well.
"Don't be such a brat." Janna said giving a light thwap to the back of her brother's head. "Pfft. No wonder she's hiding behind a computer screen. You know what lonely girls who sit at home on Friday nights look like." Janna added hoping her brother wasn't setting his ideal about this girl too high.
MustangSally: I don't get my kicks that way. Tell her not to worry.
"Jan. Seriously, enough. It's not like I'm DATING her, ok? We're friends. I don't care what she looks like. Besides... I'M here, and I'm not exactly an ogre, you know..." Well... maybe he had a SMALL point there...
"Yeah, well just don't set your expectations too high where this girl is concerned." Last thing Janna wanted was for her brother to end up expecting too much only to be cruelly crushed if he ended up meeting the girl. "If you get bored cybering in here I'll be in my room watching The Mask." Janna said leaning down to give a light kiss to the top of her brother's head.
"It's not cybering, Jan!" He called out as she started to leave, grumbling to himself before typing:
NotVoorhees: Great. She thinks we're cybering or something. I swear she was dropped on her head as a kid.'
A soft laugh followed Janna as she left her brother's room to walk a short distance down the hallway to disappear behind a closed door one room down from her brother's.
MustangSally: lol That's as far from what we're doing two people can get.
He sighed, wondering if he should go try to get more info from Janna about what was going on between the girl and their... sudden benefactor. He rubbed the bridge of his nose then typed again.
NotVoorhees: Sorry, hun. I should go... I think I might have some family stuff to deal with. Can we talk again tomorrow?'
MustangSally: I don't know if I'll be around.
Dammit. He really hated his life sometimes. He typed again.
NotVoorhees: If not, email me? Not to sound lame, but I'll kinda miss you.'
MustangSally: That doesn't sound lame. I will try, but I can't promise.
NotVoorhees: Hope to talk to you soon. Goodnight.'
He gave a little sigh as he closed the laptop, and stood, walking to his sister's room, hoping to figure out exactly what was going on with her...
