Hanging With Aunt Rachelle
Who: Rachelle and Brandie
Where: Rachelle's New Bar
When: 12/28/2010 (Backdated)
A few days after Christmas, Brandie figured that she should go and hang with her Aunt Rachelle, since she had been so nice as to let her and Julian come and hang out for a little while on Christmas Eve. She walked up to the bar and knocked on the door. It wasn't officially open yet, but she knew that her aunt would be in there somewhere or another.
Chelle looked, right now, like something out of a home improvement show. She had her hair tied back into a ponytail, and was wearing stained blue jeans, a tight white tanktop, and a tool belt, a little bit of dirt on her cheek. She opened the door, grinning ear to ear. "Heeeey! There's m'girl! Get in here, kid!"
Brandie smiled and walked inside. "Thanks," she said to her aunt, reaching over and giving the woman a hug. "And thank for letting Julian and I come by the other night." Of course, her little 'gift' to them had been a little freaky.
Rachelle cracked up, knowing what she meant. Along with giving Julian the key to the bar, she'd also left them food and a box of condoms on the main table, with a note that said "be sure to wrap that shit!". Giving an impish grin, she shrugged. "What can I say? I wanna be that cool aunt that you go to when you're afraid of mortifying your parents. Although if anything can mortify THOSE two, I'll be shocked."
"My dad is...amazingly mortifying, considering the little bit people tell me about his past." Brandie mostly had to put it together through jokes and innuendos, plus just her parents mauling each other every chance they got (which they NEVER outgrew), but she had a decent idea (with no pictures, thank GOD). "Mom's a little cooler, though." Or just realistic.
"Your mom, as you PROBABLY know, is my best friend. So, anything you EVER need, girl... you got it." She reached over and ruffled the girl's hair. "Hell, I almost beat down one of my friends cos of you." She said with a laugh.
"I totally know," Brandie pointed out simply. "And who on earth did you nearly beat down for me?" And hearing Brandie say 'beat down' just sounded cute, sadly.
"My bud Maddie. She saw you in that little Alice costume you had on and mentioned wanting to do indecent things to you. I told her you were practically my NIECE, and that if she ever touched you I'd beat the piss outta her." Lovely, Chelle. "I shouldn't be surprised... comin' from the mom and dad YOU got? You had no chance to NOT be a little hottie."
"So, you're older buddy wanted to like, maul me or something?" Brandie made a face. "That's kinda gross." Brandie was one of those few that wasn't attracted to women in LA, it seemed. "And sure, I'm cute, but I'm not like...smoking or whatever you call it like my mom."
"B? You're like... a FETUS. Trust me, when you get to be your mom's age? You're gonna be RIDICULOUSLY sexy." Seriously... did Chelle even HAVE a verbal filter? Really?
"Right..." She was used to Rachelle's lack of filter. Really. "SO! How's the bar stuff going?" Let's change the subject from sexiness, shall we? This woman was practically her aunt, after all.
"Fuckin' GREAT, actually. We're almost ready to open, and I got my dad, and Blake, and a few others who will appreciate it coming in for the grand opening..." Chelle said proudly, crossing her arms.
"Sounds awesome," Brandie said to her with a grin. "Are you gonna let any under-18s in at all, or is this strictly going to be an over-18 place?" Brandie would love to stop by from time to time.
"Oh, it's all-ages. You just gotta have ID to get alcohol. I want EVERYONE to enjoy the shit outta this place. Your mom's gonna come watch Saints games with a bag on her head and everything." Then? She got a BIG grin, which was rarely a good thing. "Find out if your little boy-toy likes any sports. If he does, we'll get you guys set up at the best table IN the place for a game of his choice."
Brandie gave her a bright smile and nodded. "He doesn't seem like...the type to really be into sports, but he may always surprise me, you know?" She had remembered watching sports with Rachelle growing up, and how excitable she got. It was definitely a good show to watch.
"Hell, bring him once baseball season starts. We're gonna have night where the person who can break the Derek Jeter bobblehead into the most pieces gets free wings." Jesus... she was SERIOUS.
Brandie knew that she was serious, but it made her laugh just the same. "Well, I'm definitely going to have to try for that one," she said to her. "Gotta love me some free wings."
"You're a good kid, B. Anything I can do to help you out around here, lemme know. I know sometimes you got shit you don't feel comfy talking to the parentals about, especially when they're as young as they are here." Hey, she was trying. Shut up. "Think of me as the cool aunt. Seriously. You can talk to me about ANYTHING. School, love, sex, I swear I won't tell a soul. Even Neely."
Brandie nodded. "Be afraid. I may have to take you up on that offer," she said to her. "So, don't be freaked out or anything when I do come asking you questions or whatever."
"Never. I may not be... classy and stuff, but I care about ya, kiddo. And I'll never be anything but honest with you." Aww...
"Cool," Brandie said with a nod. "I need you to be honest. And I'll totally try and be honest, too."
