Meeting Someone New
Who: Piper and Harper
Where: Regan High
When: Friday, January 14 – After school
"Hi." Piper offered with a seemingly friendly like smile to the girl sitting down on the bench one over from where she was sitting. It wasn't coincidence that Piper was there in the bleachers as the teen wasn't a big fan of girls soccer or cheerleaders for that matter. Her reason for being in the stands had just sat down.
It had been two days ago that Piper first noticed Harper. While she considered Baily total hotness rolled up in a petite little package, Piper found Harper at first sight to be a stunning dark skinned beauty. Just the mere sight of the other girl had naughty thoughts coursing through the little witch's mind. So, it was with a little detective work on her part that Piper discovered the girl seemed to have a habit of going to the practice field after last class had let out. And it was with that knowledge that Piper made sure she was there today prior to Harper's arrival.
"Hi," Harper replied as she sat down, making sure to acknowledge Piper by looking her in the eyes briefly. While... standoffish with most everyone, Harper had been ingrained at a very young age to, at the very least, acknowledge others. Treat others as you yourself would like to be treated and all that. There were only a few occasions when she didn't do that, but they were understandable and best not mentioned.
Today, Harper's shoulder length black hair was hidden under a gray-knit beanie, along with gray pants with deep pockets and a dark blue, spaghetti strapped shirt with purple polka-dots. She took out a book for one of her English assignments out of her backpack and set it in her lap, before remembering something: "You're new here, aren't you?"
"Yes, I am." Still smiling to the girl, Piper stood grabbing for her bag and walked over to Harper to sit by the other girl. "I'm Piper." The teen introducing herself as she set her bag down by her feet.
"Harper," the woman of mixed heritage replied, going so far as to offer Piper a hand to shake and she never touched people. "How do you like it here?"
"Nice to meet you, Harper." Really nice to meet you. Piper returned accepted the offered hand to shake. Warm and soft at the touch, Piper was tempted to hold onto it a bit longer then was acceptable. "I'm finding I'm liking it. Not as much as the boarding school I attended, but Los Angeles is kind of growing on me."
Harper smiled softly. "I can't imagine why you would want to come here." Well, she could imagine, but it was just a turn of phrase. "I think it's about as drastically different from England as you could get."
"It is, but the separation from my family," specifically her father, "just got to be too much." Piper explained. Not something she did all that often, but this was a special case as the teen was trying to get into the other girl's good graces.
"Oh," Harper replied with a brief nod. While her family wasn't exactly massive, she didn't know what she would do without them, either. So there was something that she understood. "Well, welcome to Regan High."
"Thank you. That's very nice of you to say." Piper said smiling ever so pleasantly to the other girl while trying to keep those naughty little thoughts trying to seep into her head at bay.
"Your welcome. I don't... really think we have a welcoming committee here or anything." Harper realized with a laugh, shaking her head at how absurdly random that thought was.
"Well, I think you're doing a good job of being a one girl welcoming committee." Piper said with a slight playfulness to the other girl. Though in that little mind of her Piper thought of a couple ways Harper could better welcome her to the city, most being in a horizontal position.
Harper felt the heat rise to her cheeks, wondering if she heard a hint of flirtatiousness in the other girl's tone. Jocks tried to flirt with her … Hell, even one or two of the Cheerleader's did as well and while she could have gone in either direction, she felt that that was just... shallow. Pointless and sad. "I'm trying. ...I'm not one for socializing," she admitted. Still, she found herself... curious. "How do you like to spend your time, Piper?"
Well, if Piper didn't view that little blush that crept onto Harper's cheeks as the most adorable. Yes, she most definitely was wanting to see more of the girl. Literally. "I usually go to Avarice," when she did go out at night that was, "though it's not really my scene it's one of the more popular places among kids our age, thus a good place to meet people. Other activities I enjoy are horseback riding, going to the beach, and shopping, but then what girl doesn't." And sacking stunning beauties like yourself. "What about you, Harper?"
"Yeah. I think everyone and their mother goes to Avarice," Harper murmured, followed by a husky laugh. It was true, though, if you thought about it. "The music there's good... there are too many people there usually for my tastes, though." Harper was practically a hermit, so of course she was going to have trouble in crowds. "I like to read, mostly, or do crossword puzzles. ...I know. Absolutely thrilling, right?"
"Surely you like to go out occasionally and do something. A walk in the woods or on the beach. The occasional shopping excursion or to see a movie?" Piper couldn't quite wrap her head around the thought that Harper generally never got out
"Not... really, no," Harper replied, ducking her head slightly in embarrassment, since she knew that could come across as strange. "If I do anything like that, it's with my mom or dad, most of the time." That... was actually quite sad, if you thought about it.
"So you do go out occasionally." Piper smiled softly. "Where do you like going, even if it is with your parents." Not that she had said that to make the girl feel bad, because that was the last thing Piper was wanting to do. It would only ruin what she was attempting to attain from the girl. Besides, there was nothing wrong with spending time with a parent. Piper enjoyed and always looked forward to those rare times she'd be able to spend with her own father.
"Oh... um, the mall, mostly. I love going shopping with my mom... even if she's not completely fond of my sense of style." She looked down at her current outfit, as if to illustrate her point, but interestingly enough, she had a few raunchier numbers that her mother didn't know anything about. "And my dad's a bit of a movie buff, so we go to the movies a few times a month." It was interesting how... if people asked questions, Harper would answer them, wasn't it?
"I have this sudden urge now to do some shopping." Piper said with a little bit of a smile as she stood up from the bench. "And you are going to show me the hottest shops there are in this city." The teen witch definitely wasn't about to accept a no from the other girl. She would have suggested going to the movies, but once the lights dimmed Piper wasn't sure she'd be able to keep her hands off the lovely Harper. Timing was everything in her book.
Harper glanced down at her book briefly and thought about that. … Well, it wasn't like she went shopping with virtual strangers often, was it? That, and her book could always wait until later. She nodded and put her book in her backpack before slinging said backpack over her shoulders and standing. "Sure. I can do that."
"Wonderful!" Piper's smile brightened at hearing Harper's agreement to her suggested shopping venture. Reaching for her own bag, and shouldering it, Piper started down from the stands toward the exit from the practice field. "Ever ridden in a Porsche?"
Oh, God. What had Harper gotten herself into here? "Um... no." She laughed that same husky laugh as before as she followed behind Piper, her hands clinging to the shoulder-straps over her backpack. "You're telling me that you own a Porsche?" She asked incredulously.
"I wouldn't lie about a thing like that." She might lead the other girl on about some things, but not about what kind of car she drove courtesy of her father. "Believe me when I say you're in for one hell of a ride." Piper grinned leading Harper from the stands to the outside.
Harper was already starting to sense that she'd have to be careful around this girl. The way that she phrased some things were a bit... strange. Then again, she was a foreigner, practically... maybe they just did things differently where she was from? "Yeah, well. If you get pulled over for speeding, it's your ass, not mine," she replied, actually doing a rare thing by saying what she was thinking, then.
"Don't worry. I don't plan on getting pulled over." Even with her father being a lawyer and able to get her out of most troublesome situations, Piper wasn't about to purposely get herself into trouble by over exceeding the city speed limits.
"If you say so, Thelma..." Harper murmured, smiling impishly as she remembered a certain movie. Like she said... she liked to watch movies with her dad.
There was a soft laugh from Piper when the other girl said that. Piper had caught the reference easily enough as she had seen the movie more then once. "If I'm Thelma will you be my Louise?" Piper said cheekily once they both were outside and on their way to where Piper's car was parked.
"I'm not sure if I could handle being your partner in crime..." Harper replied with a small amused smirk. Again, she was being honest. There was something about Piper's … carefree nature that made her hesitate, yet she followed her all the same.
"My loss then." Piper shrugged lightly as she fished out her car keys. She had after all be merely jesting about Harper being Louise to her Thelma. A lady outlaw wasn't quite Piper.
"Maybe something tamer?" Harper suggested, rolling her eyes in thought. Damn, why did nothing ever come to mind? "I'm sure there's a 'Golden Girls' equivalent that I'd be more comfortable with..." She chuckled.
"I don't know if I'd go that far in the opposite direction." Piper responded with a smile enjoying much the sound of the other girl's laughter. It had her wonder if she cried out in bed just as beautifully. Once they arrived at the car, Piper unlocked the doors and slid into the driver's seat. When Harper was settled in nice and comfy, Piper revved the engine and tore out of the parking lot. The teen then modified the car's speed to better match the posted street limits. It was too soon in her planning stages to have Harper prematurely scared off before she had a chance to get the girl into her bed. She'd like to keep her beyond that, but her main goal at the moment was to get the stunning, dark skinned beauty in the sack.
Settled in the passenger seat, Harper tossed her backpack between her legs and clasped her seat belt. She was... usually a little hesitant with people who she hadn't been in a car with before, but Piper's ability to keep within the speed limit calmed her considerably. "Okay... but then we need a mid-ground. I can't for the life of me think of anything, though..." She laughed again, shaking her head.
"I'm sure we'll think of an agreeable middle ground." Piper voiced with a smile as the Posche cruised down the street toward the local mall.
"Until then... I'm sure I can find some decent stores that you can shop at," Harper assured her with a brief nod.
"I'm sure you'll be quite the helpful personal shopper." Piper said flashing a brief smile over to Harper. If the teen found any of the shops decent enough for her tastes, Piper was going to get the other girl's input on any outfits she saw fit to try on.
