Breaking and Entering
Who: Isabella, Jodi and Kirsten
Where: The Hyperion
When: Friday, January 7th - evening
"I'm telling you, Kir... this is gonna lead to something. I can feel it...." The squeaky little voice of Jodi Hanson muttered, eyes wide behind her glasses, as she stood perched by the side door of the Hyperion, which was bolted shut (hey, it was never really used, and was just going to be built over in the renovation, so SHUT UP.) "Now we just gotta figure out how to get IN there..."
Kirsten moved her mouth to one side thoughtfully, "Well, I could use my superior strength on this bad boy... but even then I probably wouldn't accomplish anything." The way she put it... it was hard to say whether or not she was joking. "We could try a window, or y'know, wacky thought: the front DOOR."
"There's probably nobody here right now, doofus!" Jodi said with a little stomp. "Besides, it's not really SNEAKING IN if we walk in the front freakin' door!"
"Yeah, true. Plus, then I wouldn't get to destroy things and that's kinda fun sometimes. Sigh. Okay, step back." Kirsten found a trashcan nearby, upended it and literally slammed it against the bolt in the door, breaking it in one shot. "Since there's probably nobody here... I do get to be loud, right?" She grinned. The nutjob.
"....how the.... God, that bolt musta been old and rotted out." Jodi blinked, still unaware of just WHAT her friend was. "Yeah... probably not a soul. Let's go..." The tiny brunette grinned mischeviously, trying to walk quietly into the place to take a look around...
D'aw. What a cutie. Kirsten followed behind her quietly, her eyes, ears and nose searching for any kind of disturbance in the force. After a few moments of rummaging, she stiffened and fell quiet, feeling the hairs on the back of her neck go on end.
"Kir?" Jodi asked, blinking as she noticed her friend's reaction. "What is it, girl? Is Timmy down a well?"
Kirsten just glared at Jodi, which was actually far cuter than she intended. "...We're not alone."
"No, you're not," a feminine voice called from the opposite side of the room. She flipped a light switch to illuminate the room and there in all her glory stood... Isabella Delallo and while in any other situation she might have come across as stern and annoyed, there was no mistaking the amused smirk on her face. "I was wondering when I'd see you... Jodi, yes?"
"....I am SO gonna kill Bethany..." Jodi grumbled, eyes comically wide. "Ma'am... I... I'm sorry... please don't call the police? Because my mom and dad would ground me for like, EVER, and then I'll never have a life and never go to college and I'm too young and LITTLE to end up being Big Bertha's plaything in some cold cell..."
If anything, Isabella's smirk justĀ turned into a full-blown smileĀ and she arched an eyebrow and the girl. "I won't say anything if you won't," she said to Jodi, before turning her attention to Kirsten and appraising her silently. "...That was a new lock." Clearly Kirsten had some explaining to do, didn't she? Isabella let it go for the time being and turned her attention back to Jodi, to Kirsten's relief, "Bethany tells me that you're interested in the supernatural. Is that correct?"
"Yes ma'am." Jodi said, a defensive hint to her voice, even after she gave Kir a 'WTF' look, wondering how her friend broke a BRAND NEW LOCK, and feeling slightly betrayed about it all. "And don't laugh... I know the things I study exist, and I'm gonna prove it, somehow."
"I'm not going to laugh," Isabella replied. "And you'll notice that your friend isn't laughing either." She crossed her arms and pouted thoughtfully. "What if I said that everything you've studied exists - what would you do then?"
"I'd pout and possibly whine until you tell me EVERYTHING you know..." she glared adorably at Kir, "And possibly punch my friend in the mouth."
Kirsten looked down and shuffled her feet awkwardly. "I just... Sorry," she muttered. "You needed to hear this from someone... reputable."
"Then I'll tell you everything that I know... provided that you keep it to yourself. Anything regarding the supernatural... it's like a secret society. Do you understand?" Isabella asked.
"I understand... but I want to learn." The little thing, all 5'2" and 13 years of her, tried to seem like someone to be taken seriously. "I want to be someone... who can teach others. I want to help people be able to help others and themselves."
"That's a very admirable quality to have," Isabella replied. "Very well." She located a pen and paper and scribbled down a few numbers. "These are my contact details. I'll make the ... other Watchers that I work with aware of who you are. Perhaps we can make a schedule, that way you're able to learn from each of us as you go." She added thoughtfully.
"THIS IS SO FRIKKIN' AWESOME!" Jodi squealed, loudly, all smiles, before catching herself and blushing, looking at the ground, embarrassed. "Errrrrr.... sorry. I just... I've wanted to know my research has meant something since I was ten years old..." Yeah. THREE YEARS AGO. Dork.
Luckily Isabella had a soft spot for young girls... Wait, that doesn't sound right. Luckily Isabella could be swayed by enthusiasm. Yeah, that sounds better. Anyway... "Good. You'll find that your enthusiasm will go a long way here. Especially on long nights." She'd have to make sure the girl was paid for her training, as well, somehow, it occurred to her.
"Um... and since I'm an idjit..." She muttered, gesturing to Kir. "This is my friend. Kirsten Locke. She kinda just... tagged along because she acts like a crackfiend half the time."
"Half?" Kirsten repeated, actually sounding offended. Sigh. "But yeah. Nice to meetcha, hot Watcher lady."
Isabella cleared her throat and smirked faintly. Well, wasn't this just an amusing evening? "Nice to meet you too." She turned her attention back to Jodi briefly, "Both of you."
"And don't worry... I can keep this to myself. And Kir... er..." Ok, so she knew the blonde had a big fucking mouth. "I'll threaten to pout incessantly if she says anything."
"But... that'd be cute," Kirsten pouted, funnily enough. "But I've got secrets too, so obviously I know how to keep them." Isabella seemed to accept that.
"Ma'am?" Jodi asked, nibbling her bottom lip sweetly. "I promise... I won't let you down."
"I believe you," Isabella replied with a curt nod. "Now go home. Both of you. It's getting late."
"Yes ma'am!" Jodi exclaimed, almost, well... TOO excited. "I'll be here tomorrow, right after school!" Oh god... she was going to be annoyingly intense with this, wasn't she.
Fortunately, Isabella didn't expect any less. "Then I'll see you then."
