The Sweetest Thing Ever, Like A Cute, Cuddly Puppy
Who: Fred and Janna
Where: The beach
When: Sunday, January 9
With things finally more settled at home (which was what Fred considered living with Maddie to be), the slender Texan finally made plans with Janna to meet at the beach, as they had discussed it on their first meeting. The brunette was currently dressed in a purple bikini with a matching floral print sarong and was currently building a sandcastle while she waited for the other woman to arrive. It was amazingly detailed, given that she'd only been there fifteen minutes.
Janna arrived at the beach wearing a green camouflage bandeau top and pair of denim shorts, the matching bottom to the two piece swimsuit worn under the shorts. After parking the young woman wandered out onto the beach in search of Fred. After about a minute she finally located the other woman and headed out over the sandy beach with a smile in Fred's direction.
Looking up, Fred couldn't help it but send an infectious grin Janna's way. It was nice to see a familiar face and more than that, she liked Janna. It occurred to her now how easy it was for her to talk to the woman, despite how shy she could be since she'd come home. That truly meant something, in her mind. "Hi," she said once Janna was within earshot, "'m glad that you could come today."
"Hi yourself." Janna returned smiling when she neared the woman kneeling in the sand before the sand castle she had been bust constructing while waiting for Janna. "I wouldn't have missed a chance to spend time with you, and with it being at the beach was an added incentive." Janna said sinking down slowly into the sand next to Fred. "Someone's been busy." The dark haired enforcer in training commented as she gave the sand castle in progress a look over.
"Oh." Fred blushed and giggled. "Yes, a little bit. I'd forgotten how much fun it could be buildin' somethin' as simple as a sandcastle. You're only really limited by your imagination." She smiled and smoothed out some rough edges before leaning back on her haunches, looking at her work proudly. "How've you been, Janna?"
"I've been good." Janna answered not even attempting to curb her urge to reach over and tuck a few loose strands behind the other girl's ear. "How have you been, Fred?" Inquiring with a soft smile of the other woman. There was no denying that she felt an attraction toward Fred and Janna was wanting to get to know the shy, sand castle building young woman better.
Fred smiled warmly, her nose wrinkling adorably. "I've been good. Things at home are finally settlin' down. My roommate's boyfriend gave me an idea about maybe lookin' into becoming a teacher, so I'm looking into that." She was clearly excited about finally finding her path, as she tended to babble when she was happy. "Annnd I don't mean to bore you. I tend to rattle on sometimes."
"That is really good to hear, Fred." Janna smiled. "Do you know what grade you might be wanting to teach? And I'm in no way bored by your rattling on. I actually like listening to you talk." Janna went on to say plain and simply. For her Fred had one of those voices a person could sit and listen to for hours.
Fred's cheeks flushed again and she curled a lock of hair behind her ear. "I was thinkin' maybe high school level. It'd be fun to teach teenagers science, really get them interested in it. The apathy level towards school, I've read, is just astounding. And there are hardly any people willin' to teach these days, which honestly just makes me depressed thinkin' about it." She repositioned on the sand, drawing her knees up to her chest. "Didn't you say that you were lookin' for work? How's that goin'?"
"I don't think that it's a lack of people willing to teach per se, but rather a lack of teachers in the profession for more then just the paycheck. I think good teachers are what is in demand these days. And I am no longer in the group of unemployed." Janna smiled. "I'm employed as a chauffeur. I know not the most glamorous of jobs, but at least I'll have a steady income."
"It's possible," Fred replied to the first part of Janna's statement. She smiled when Janna did, unable to help herself. "Congratulations. I'm of a mind that if you enjoy your job an' the people you work for, it shouldn't matter what you do, y'know? I'm very happy for you."
"I totally agree with that. I don't know if I'd last long in a job that I didn't at least like a little bit. Unhappiness in the workplace tends to make for an unhappy person in life. At least that's my philosophy. Thankfully I like the people I will be working for." Sure it was only her cover job with the Bale family, but Janna wasn't about to get into what her real job was. Would be a hazard for her and possibly a dangerous fact for Fred to know, and Janna was wanting neither to happen.
"Thankfully," Fred agreed before slowly getting to her feet, brushing sand from her behind. If she suspect that Janna wasn't fully telling her the truth, she hid it well as she offered the other woman a hand up. "What say we go for a swim? It'd be a terrible waste not to go in the water now that we're here."
"Splendid idea." Janna said following Fred's lead in standing. Though whether it would have been just sitting on the beach watching a sand castle being constructed or taking a swim in the ocean, Janna wouldn't have minded as long as either was done in the company of the adorable Fred Burkle. Brushing clinging specks of sand from her legs, Janna then shimmied out of her shorts, which she just let stay where they had fallen after stepping out of them.
Fred watched Janna's actions before realizing what she was doing and blushing. She then loosened the knot that she had tied in her sarong (since she had such a slight frame, it was the only way to keep it attached to her body) and let it fall to the ground. Stepping away from it, she smiled shyly at Janna. "It's been a while since I've swum, so baby steps?"
"Baby steps it is." Janna agreed reaching for the girl's hand to lead Fred off toward the water. She wouldn't try leading the other girl out too far, just far enough where they might have a speck of privacy as Janna was really wanting to kiss Fred in all her adorabilty, and she was afraid to make the attempt when they were in such close proximity of others taking into account Fred's shyness. Last thing she was wanting to do was scare the girl off.
Fred let Janna take her hand and gave hers a gentle squeeze as she let the other woman led her out into the water slowly, first to her ankles, then her waist... then finally, a good shoulder-level. Floating comfortably, Fred couldn't deny the nervousness that she felt in the moment. Whether that was attributed to her company or the fact that she hadn't swum in open water for over half a decade, she wasn't sure. "I can't remember the last time that I've had this much fun. Thank you," Fred murmured sweetly.
"I'm glad I could be accommodating." Janna admitted treading water a bit while still relatively close to Fred. "I like seeing you happy, Fred." She smiled tenderly to the other girl as she moved even just a little bit closer to her. "And I hope this won't scare you off, but I'm really wanting to kiss you now." And without waiting for a response, Janna's hands moved to rest lightly on Fred's hips as she leaned toward the girl to kiss her softly on the mouth.
Fred gave a surprised squeak at the kiss, her eyes widening slightly before realizing what exactly was happening. Smiling into the kiss, she brought one hand up to gently place behind Janna's head, drawing out the moment, yet also managing to keep it incredibly sweet. "So... no scaring off," she murmured.
Janna smiled against the soft, inviting lips of the other girl with her hand slipping into the silken strands of mousy brown. "Last thing I was wanting to do." Janna admitted softly before kissing the girl again with a little more depth to the kiss. Drawing back slightly as she continued letting fingers play within the quiet girl's hair, and with a smile lingering on her lips, Janna spoke. "And I hope you'll let me get to know you better, Fred."
"I wouldn't have it any other way," Fred murmured, nibbling on her bottom lip. She couldn't help it but grin then, in a surprised sort of way, and reached for one of Janna's hands under the water to give it a gentle squeeze. This was far and away beyond anything that she could ever have imagined and she wanted, more than anything, for the moment to last.
"You are the sweetest thing ever." Janna said to Fred letting her hand lingering a moment longer within the other girl's. And at that moment Janna was of the same mind. She wanted the moment to last, for eternity if possible, but she knew that was an impossibility. They could only remain in the water so long sharing this little bit of intimacy during this part of the day. Maybe she could entice Fred to return later after darkness fell for a little romantic rendezvous on this same beach. Something she would broach once the pair had left the water and were back on the beach.
"Oh, I don't know about that," Fred murmured with a giggle and an embarrassed roll of her eyes. She lowered herself in the water slightly, letting the water come up to roughly mouth level before bobbing up again, for once, at a complete loss as to what to say. She gave Janna's hand another squeeze under the water, "I think puppies are plenty sweet, and I can't compete with puppies," she teased lightly.
"Oh, I think you could. Puppies are all cute, cuddly and adorable, and oh so huggable." Janna grinned lightly in return. And playful, which seemed a side Fred was just now revealing to her. Yes, in that way Fred could be compared to a puppy. One that Janna had a feeling she'd welcome to her bed every night if it were at all possible.
"Well, I can't argue with that now, can I? And I'll admit to being partial to hugs." In all honesty, Fred was a rather affectionate young woman, it was just that... the last five or so years, she didn't have the opportunity to show that. Which went a ways to explain why she was so shy, also. She figured she'd have to tell Janna about that... just not right this minute.
"I'd like to take you up on the whole hugging and cuddling thing." And if more ended up happening that would be quite fine with Janna. "That is if you're free tonight." The wheels of planning were already turning in the were's head. She wanted their first official date, which is what it would be that night should Fred agree to meet her back there at the beach when most others would have abandoned it, to be a memorable one.
Fred blinked then, somewhat surprised, although pleasantly so. It seemed that Janna didn't waste any time, did she? "I'm … free," she murmured, thinking that she'd have to tell Maddie that she wouldn't be home until late, if at all. "You might wanna..." She nibbled her lip thoughtfully, trying to think of how to properly word what she wanted to say. "It's been a while since I've... dated." She blushed, hoping that Janna would understand.
"Fred," Janna gently caught the girl's chin to lift it slightly so she would look at her directly. "I'm not going to force you into doing something you might not be completely comfortable with. If all that happens later tonight is that I get to hold you and tempt a couple kisses out of you, then that's all that will happen and I won't be disappointed." She said with a gentle smile. Sure she wanted to get sexually intimate with the woman, but there was more to Fred then that and Janna wasn't wanting to use her merely to satisfy her own needs and wants.
"Oh, I never thought for a minute that you would force..." Fred stopped herself from babbling, wrinkling her nose cutely and started again. "I like you," she stated simply, keeping eye contact to show that she was serious here. "Very much. But I also... need you to understand that it's been a long time since I've ever let anyone get close to me." She boldly smoothed a hand through Janna's hair. "D'you understand?"
"Baby, I understand." Janna smiled now completely getting it after her slight misunderstanding of what Fred had been trying to say was clarified. "Things will be attempted slowly, because quite frankly you're worth it. But I hope that whatever barriers you might have won't be too hard to break down."
"Thank you," Fred murmured, smiling warmly at Janna. Truthfully, it had been some time since she'd been with someone, but more than that, despite the fact that she'd been back in Los Angeles for several months now, Janna was the first person that she'd met that she wanted to help change that. "I hope so too."
"What do you say we go back and finish work on that sand castle you started construction on." Janna suggested to her. She wanted to make sure Fred knew that she appreciated her for more then that hot little body of hers. The girl was smart, had a bit of a sense of humor and was pleasant to converse with. One could probably say that Fred was a well rounded person with a lot to offer a person, and Janna was looking forward to getting to know the other girl better.
"Okay." Fred waded forward and pressed her lips to Janna's again briefly, showing that despite how nervous she was, that she really wanted to be a part of this. She gave Janna that infectious grin of hers as soon as they parted and, hand still holding Janna's, she led the other woman back to the shore. "Maybe we should build a moat?" She suggested.
