Finally!
Who: Kirsten, Macha, Payton and introducing Harper Gray
Where: Regan High
When: Thursday, January 6 – After school
Harper wasn't much of a social butterfly, if we're being honest. She kept to herself most of the time and only spoke when spoken to. It wasn't to say that she didn't like company, but she was of the mind that if she didn't have anything to say, then why say anything at all? She was currently sitting up in the bleachers, reading a book and glancing up occasionally to see what was going on around her. The girls soccer team were currently playing a friendly game on the field, while the cheerleaders were practicing a new routine off to one side.
Apart from herself she noticed a few jocks two rows down from her, laughing and being lecherous, but since they weren't bothering her she didn't say what she was thinking. She liked coming here after school sometimes, it was an interest of hers to observe people and their behaviors. She'd become quite good at it.
Macha wasn't that much of a social butterfly herself. In fact the dark haired teen rather preferred it that way. Being popular among her peers had never been a goal of hers. She instead rather liked just having the handful of friends she had, though right now as she entered the bleachers, Macha wasn't too happy with one of those friends. In fact she was irritated beyond belief at a certain blond, and mighty pissed at a specific dark haired cheerleader. In fact if Macha had found herself within the same vicinity as one Payton she might very well go with the urge to strangle the girl. Stalking her way up into the bleachers, Macha plopped herself down on the bench two down from where Harper sat.
Harper couldn't help it but notice the scowl on Macha's face as she made her way up the bleachers and quickly located the source of her displeasure. Kirsten had, by the look of it, taken a drink break from soccer and was currently chatting it up with Payton the cheerleader, who had stopped to drink as well. It was beyond obvious that Kirsten was flirting and the dangerous thing was, so was Payton. If only a little more subdued.
Clearing her throat, Harper snapped her book shut and looked over to Macha. "Does she... do that a lot?"
"Do what?" Macha responded with that persistent scowl that etched her features everytime she caught Kir flirting so openly with another girl. Granted Macha wasn't exactly owning up to her feelings for the blond, instead she kept silent and battled internally the jealousy she felt toward anyone Kir paid the slightest attention to. Though in this case Macha wasn't thinking she'd be able to do that and feared quite the unpleasant confrontation would erupt between herself and Payton.
"Flirt with other girls," Harper pointed out, looking over to Kirsten again, who by the looks of it had gotten to the flirty-touching part of the conversation. The girl didn't waste any time, did she? Harper looked to Macha's face again and because she was able to read people so well, she saw something that Macha tried to hide. "If you like her, you should probably tell her."
"Don't be ridiculous, I don't like her in that way." Macha tried denying quite adamantly glancing away from Harper back to where Kir and Payton continued flirting with each other. A sight that had the teen she wolf's jaw clenching even tighter as she felt herself getting more pissed.
"The vein on your forehead says different," Harper replied, the one instance in recent memory in which she actually said what she was thinking. "I... don't think either of them are interested in dating, if that helps at all." It... probably didn't help in the slightest, but her reasoning there was that Macha could have Kirsten all to herself soon enough. "But who's to say that she won't find someone else next week, and you'll have this whole process repeat itself?" Opinionated little thing, wasn't she?
That only served to infuriate Macha further. What did some opinionated girl who she was unfamiliar with know? With a sounding huff, Macha grabbed her school bag and almost all but jumped to her feet to storm off. If Kir wished to continue making a fool of herself with some skank of a cheerleader she wasn't about to stick around to bare witness to it.
Harper blinked when Macha stormed off, thinking that what she said was just practical... if a little on the harsh side. Hrmh. Maybe she needed to work on her interpersonal skills?
While she'd been flirting with Payton, Kirsten knew that Macha was up the stands waiting for her to finish the friendly game... what she didn't expect was to see her friend storm off in a huff. Blinking, she promised to call Payton later and chased after her friend, managing to catch up to her behind the bleachers, she tugged on the other girl's arm. "Wait. Macha. What's up? Did that Harper girl say something to you? I swear it's always the quiet ones that you have to look out for."
"She didn't say anything." The teen lied tugging her arm free of the blonde's grasp and continued walking hoping to keep a couple paces ahead of Kir. Now really wasn't the time for the other girl to be trying to talk to her. Not after.... The thought only angered her more though Macha tried pushing the feeling back down.
"Are you sure? I mean, people don't run off unless they've got a reason to. It's been my experience, anyway..." Kirsten replied, keeping a few paces behind Macha like she seemed to want. As smart as Kirsten was (which was ridiculously smart, when she put her mind to it), she was completely oblivious as to why Macha was acting so strange. "D'you want me to cheer you up?"
"I'm sure." Macha said giving an exasperated sigh as she felt her anger slowly dissipating. For some inexplicable reason, Macha found she couldn't remain angry or upset with Kir for any long stretch of time. "You wanna go to Chloe's?" She asked finally shouldering her bag. A little caffeine always seemed to make things a little bit better for her.
"Sure. I just... have to go to the locker room and get my stuff but beyond that, I'm free," Kirsten assured Macha. As a touchy-girl by nature it was hard for Kirsten to refrain from hugging Macha right then, but she seemed to notice that Macha wasn't in the mood for it, so out of respect she didn't. "You sure you're up for havin' me all sugared up?"
"I think I can tolerate that." Macha tried smiling. As long as a certain cheerleader doesn't make an appearance. "Go get your stuff, I'll wait for you outside."
Kirsten smiled brightly and did just that, changing out of her soccer uniform in the locker room. If it wasn't for a … certain distraction, she would have only been a few minutes. She took close to fifteen. She raced out to Macha with her backpack over one shoulder. "Okay, okay. I'm all yours. Sorry." A few seconds later, behind Kirsten, Payton exited the gym and seeing the look on Macha's face she couldn't help but smile wickedly and give her a little finger wave.
That was all it took to break the proverbial camel's back. "You go ahead and wait for me by the jeep. Just remembered I forgot something in my locker." Macha told Kir while glaring daggers at Payton.
"Sure!" Kirsten replied brightly, snagging the keys from Macha. Utterly oblivious to Macha's glaring she raced over to the jeep, still so horribly full of energy it wasn't even funny.
Payton pouted playfully at Macha and set her hands on her hips. "Problem?" She really did enjoy messing with people. It had been so long since she'd found someone so fun to anger.
Macha went for the cheerleader then, forcing the girl back into the building and slammed her up against a row of lockers with her hand at Payton's throat. "Problem? No problem as long as you keep your distance from Kirsten Locke." Macha words relaying an underlying threat to the other teen as she gave the cheer queen the look of death. "Are we clear on that?"
"Or what? What are you going to do?" Payton goaded, hissing briefly since her head hit the lockers. Luckily she healed faster than most, but only she knew that. She took hold of Macha's forearm and tried to twist it away from her body, struggling to do so as Macha was stronger than she appeared. "Hrmh? Oh, that's right. Nothing. You can't do anything. So back off."
That only had the dark haired were forcing more pressure to the girl's throat. "Trust me, you don't want to find out what I'm capable of doing. Be quite unhealthy for you." Macha hissed back with her eyes flashing yellow for a brief second. "Kirsten Locke is off limits to you. Forget that and you'll be suffering a shitload of hurt." With one more squeeze to the girl's throat, Macha dropped her hand and backed away a couple steps. "I hope we understand each other now." And with that she turned to leave Payton and the building and join Kir out by the jeep.
Payton slumped back against the lockers, clutching her throat and trying to remember how to breath as she watched Macha exit the building, her eyes full of intense hatred.
Completely oblivious, Kirsten was rocking out to a Foo Fighters song when her friend appeared. "Cool. I was starting to worry. Are we all good now?"
"Stay away from Payton." Macha said as more of a warning then an outright threat to Kirsten as she started the engine of the jeep up.
"What?" Kirsten blinked, nonplussed. She clipped in her seat belt and tried to fathom why Macha would say something like that. She'd never gone as far as to warn her away from someone before. "Why?"
Still feeling the residual effects of her heated encounter with Payton, Macha felt actions would have more of a affect then simple words. Turning toward the blond, Macha leaned over toward the girl to let a kiss say it all as a hand fell slowly to rest on Kir's thigh.
Kirsten's eyes widened as soon as Macha's lips pressed against hers and while her initial reaction was confused at best, she soon realized what it meant and kissed her friend back. Placing a hand to her cheek, Kirsten pulled back slightly and breathlessly asked: "...What just happened?"
"I kissed you." The words stumbling out as Macha pulled back to sit straight in the driver's seat. The teen was wondering now if it had been such a good idea to have acted on her feelings then and there. Maybe, like she had been doing for months, she should have tucked her feelings back down and not have given Kir any sort of answer. Putting the jeep in gear, Macha guided the vehicle out of the school parking lot.
While Macha drove, Kirsten leaned back in her seat and processed what had just happened. She'd never in a million years thought that Macha would ever like her, let alone act on it like she had. She'd always thought she was something of an irritant to Macha, if she was being honest. That just showed what she knew, huh? "...How long have you... felt that way?"
"Ever since you started hitting on girls that weren't worth your time." Macha answered truthfully now that she actually thought about it. Might have even been longer, but since she had continually tried to keep those feelings pushed down deep, Macha would never truly know the answer to that question.
"Oh," Kirsten replied, blinking. She took that to mean 'a while'. The blonde worried her lower lip between her teeth and studied Macha for a moment, before saying, voice light: "I'm gonna … need you to pull over the next chance you get."
"Why?" She questioned with a quick glance over to the other girl. Macha wasn't liking the sound of that. That Kir wanted her to pull over. Was she gonna get out the moment she eased the jeep to a stop?
"...Because I have a very strong desire to kiss you again and in a moving vehicle that's a big no-no," Kirsten replied, her voice deadly serious as she looked Macha over. "Please?"
Macha pulled over the first chance she got and unfastened the belt from around her so she could turn and sit sideways looking at Kir. "I tried fighting it for so long, but I just got so jealous seeing you flirt so openly with other girls that I finally couldn't take it anymore." Macha explained quickly before Kir had the chance to carry out her intentions.
Kirsten clipped off her seatbelt to face Macha and let her speak her piece, her heart breaking a tad when she realized just how strongly her friend felt for her. As soon as Macha stopped talking she placed a hand to the other girl's cheek and leaned over to give her a surprisingly sweet kiss on the lips, parting her lips slightly with her tongue.
Macha whimpered softly against the other girl's lips when Kir finally kissed her. She hadn't realized until that moment just had badly she had been wanting to experience just that with her best friend. To be the one that Kir kissed instead of some girl the blond barely knew. After a moment of tender lip lock, Macha pulled back slightly with her head tipping for her forehead to rest against Kir's. "You don't know how long I have been wanting to do that." She whispered out softly.
"...I really don't," Kirsten replied as she let her forehead rest against Macha's. She tried to remember the fundamentals of breathing as she searched her best friend's eyes, as if finally seeing her for the first time. How could she have overlooked someone so important to her for so long? How was it that she didn't see how... utterly breathtaking Macha was? "...Wow," was all she could think to say after a moment.
"Guess we need to talk." Macha murmured out before she found herself once more kissing Kirsten. This all was almost surreal to her, as if it were all a dream and she would soon be waking with the wish to fall back into the dream.
"Mhmm..." Kirsten murmured in response. She tangled the fingers of one hand in Macha's hair to keep her close as they kissed, trying to draw it out as long as possible. Eventually the need for oxygen became an issue and she pulled back. Barely. She really didn't want to move far from Macha at that moment. "Any minute now..." She chuckled weakly.
"Any minute." Macha repeated as she found herself grinning into the kiss she was no where near ready to abandon for the aforementioned 'talk'. This all was beyond her expectations, and Macha soon found herself diving into the kiss as she inched herself closer to the blond with an arm slipping around the other girl to draw her in closer.
"Mm, wait. Wait." Kirsten breathed, placing a hand to Macha's chest and pushing her back against her seat. She adjusted the driver's seat back and quickly moved to straddle Macha's lap with a mischievous grin. She knew that they couldn't really stay here long, but why not be comfortable? "Better?" She dipped down and kissed Macha again, feeling that for once, everything was well in her world.
"Better." She murmured against the blonde's soft, succulent lips as she leaned up into the kiss with her hands moving to glide over the form now straddled across her lap.
Kirsten brought her hands up to Macha's cheeks and cupped them lightly as they kissed, their tongues mingling she couldn't help it but moan and shift her hips slightly, trying to get as physically close to Macha as she could. Ooookay, this was starting to get a HBO sexy now. She realized that. A few minutes passed before she pulled back again, breathing heavily, and while they didn't have a chance to discuss anything, she couldn't help it but think how right this was.
With this all leaving Macha almost completely breathless when Kir finally pulled back, the dark haired teen, with her arms curling loosely around the blonde's waist, caught and held the gaze of the other girl. "I think we should, you know, go somewhere less public." Whether it would be to simply talk about things or carry things further then they were able to within a vehicle parked on an open street, Macha didn't care. The she wolf just wanted to get Kir alone and all to herself.
"That's... probably a good idea," Kirsten admitted with a throaty chuckle. "Sorry. You know how I get sometimes. Practicality just goes out the window." She stayed where she was for an extra moment, however, and smoothed her fingers through Macha's hair with a smile, before finally moving back to her own seat. "Where d'you wanna go?"
Her eyes seemed to follow each movement the blond made while still straddled across her, and then when Kir eased herself off her lap to settle back in the passenger's seat. "The cabin." It just seemed to Macha to be the most logical place. It wasn't that far of a drive and would provide them with the privacy both were wanting at the moment.
"...Okay," Kirsten breathed, running a hand through her own hair this time as she tried to catch her breath. The whole situation was far and away beyond anything that she'd ever dreamed. Frankly, the drive would do her good... it would settle her nerves. "We'll make excuses later, just get us there as legally fast as you can?" She all but whimpered.
Macha leaned over to get one last kiss before buckling herself back in and pulling the jeep out and away from the curb. At the moment speed limits didn't seem to matter to her, all Macha seemed to be able to concentrate on was getting them to the cabin as quickly, and safely as was possible.
