Getting Some Advise
Who: Baily and Bethany
Where: Chloe's Sugar Shack
When: Monday, Jan 3rd, Afternoon
Needless to say, after yesterday, Baily was feeling a little bummed...and a whole lot of angry. Why couldn't Patience just stay gone? She wouldn't go so far as to say that Pat was completely fixed and A.OK., but he was moving on and dealing fine. Now...not so much. If she saw Patience right now, she might just strangle her, and, being a Bale aside, she had liked the woman fine before. But now Patience was mind-fucking a man that she l...really cared about (she couldn't say 'love,' especially not with the latest hell going on), and that just had her all sorts of messed up. She had actually called her sister and asked her to meet her at Chloe's Sugar Shack. When you're upset, it seems that the first people you run to are your family, and Bethany's the closest that she has.
To say Bethany was a little surprised by the call was an understatement. Baily loved her, she knew that, but the two rarely seemed to speak. So the pale little redhead happily got dressed, throwing on jeans and a pink sweater, and ran to the Shack. When she saw her sister? Her first reaction was to sit across from her and frown. "...what's wrong?"
Baily just usually wasn't the huggy/lovey dovey type. It just wasn't her. Or the gushy type. Or the 'pour your heart out' type, even. Which was why all the stuff she was feeling now made her feel so confused about everything in her life at the moment. "You know how I'm seeing Pat? Who's wife left him out of the blue? Yeah...she came back..."
"Oh... crap in a HAT." Bethany sighed, standing quickly to give Baily the hug she knew she needed... even if she didn't necessarily WANT it. "Did he.. you know... go back to her?"
Baily actually did hug her back...which probably just showed up how upset she truly was. "No...he claims that he won't, and I actually believe him, amazingly enough." She finally looked over at her sister. "He's...just so torn up about it. I think he was accepting that they maybe just weren't really meant for each other, and 'poof' she shows up again. Stupid demon bitch."
"...the poor guy..." She said with a little sigh. "I mean, he had a BABY with her. I've seen you guys together, and I can tell he REALLY cares for you..." Poor Beth. Always trying to find the good in EVERYONE. "And Patience... That poor woman, to suddenly have demon in her and not know how to control it..."
"I get that Patience got in over her head with the demon thing," Baily said with a sigh. "I really, really do. But this city is full of watchers, werewolves, and all other sorts of supernatural things that could have helped her out if she just asked. Paige was more than ready to help her out, to my understanding. Instead, she just left, and basically made it seem that she was leaving forever. If she thought she was coming back, why leave the wedding ring? Why not say 'I'm going to a spa for a month' or whatever she did that's made her apparently zen enough to come around people again?" Baily obviously had a lot of questions.
"Oy. Ok... Valid point." Bethany sighed, placing her hand over Baily's. "Anything I can do? Anything at all?"
Baily gave her a slight smile. "Listening to me vent actually helps," she admitted. "The only person other than you that I'm friends with at all is Gwen, and she's all the way in Vegas." She thought on that. "Probably should tell her that Patience is around again, since they were best friends." That'll be a fun phone call. "So...what's going on in your life? Please say better than my drama filled one." Baily's life had drama. Who would have guessed?
"Things are ok. With school and my... duties... I'm not able to see Clark as much as I'd like, but mostly things are good..."
Because face it: Bethany was pretty much a ray of sunshine. She rarely let anything get her down.
If only Baily could be like that. She did give Bethany another smile. "I'm sure you'll be able to work in more time to see Clark. Ms. Delallo might understand if you want a Saturday off every now and then. It's not like there aren't tons of you guys running around, right?"
"True..." Bethany smiled, a bit of bounce in her. "I just need to work on making more friends."
"Well, you've got a school full people, and I'm sure at least a few of them don't suck...so just start talking with people," Baily suggested.
"Then... Can I give *you* some advice?" Bethany asked with a little squeak.
"Go for it. I'm all ears," Baily told her. It wasn't like Baily would die from getting some advice, after all.
"If you... think you love him? Fight for him if need be. He's got a LOT on his mind, and might not be thinking clearly." Bethany squeezed her sister's hand. "Which means YOU might need to make him see clearly."
Baily gave her a real grin. Maybe with a little bit of her typical spunk in it, too. "I plan on fighting for him, and making sure that he sees that that I'm the right girl for him." She gave her sister a nod. "It's good to hear that someone else thinks I should do that, too."
"Of course!" Bethany squealed lightly. "Pat couldn't ASK for a better woman."
