Left Turn
Who: Baily and Pat
Where: Baily's Apartment
When: Jan 2nd, Evening
So close to Christmas, and yet still so very far. Tonight was going to just be a quiet night between Baily and Pat, before the storming in of family and, well, life that would soon be coming in. Well, quiet as in no one else would be there, anyway. Let's just go with that. Wearing just a white wife beater and jeans with a gray zip up hoodie on top of it, Baily sat on her sofa and flipped through channels while she waited for Pat to show up so that they could hang out. She had rented some movies, but who knew if those would get watched past twenty minutes into the first one. Let's be honest here. These two rut like bunnies when in the presence of each other. Apparently just ALL Bales were like that. Some of them you just had to match them with the right person.
Knocking at the door, Pat held a bag from the video store, and a bag from the local Chinese takeout place. "Baily? I'm here... I come bearing bad Chinese and some sappy, romantic movies..."
She got up and answered the door, smirking at Pat when he said what he had gotten sappy, romantic movies. "Come on in," she said to him, stepping out of his way so that he could enter. "And automatically calling it bad just so encourages me to eat it."
"Sadly, I really don't doubt that. Hi." He grinned, leaning down to give her a sweet kiss on the lips. "Damn. You kinda look delicious..."
She gave him a quick kiss back. "You're not so bad yourself," she said playfully to him as she shut the door behind him.
"Still feels so... weird, you know? In a good way. Like everything's so new again." He really did feel like a teenager again with her. Sitting down, he set the bags down and yanked her down onto his lap with a chuckle.
She laughed as he yanked her down. "Well, considering this is a new relationship, that would make everything new," she teased him. She was only about twenty herself, so had only just recently left her teenage years.
"Fuckin' smartass..." He snorted, before squeezing her hips. "Lucky yer so goddamn sexy... And you are, you know. One of the sexiest ladies I've EVER seen..."
"I'd certainly hope so," she told him, leaning over and kissing his forehead. "I'd feel ridiculous if you kept having sex with me but found me as attractive as the hobo down the street."
"Well, in all fairness..." He tried to keep a straight face, "that hobo has a nice rack and might be hot if she showered..."
"Then invite her home for a threesome and we'll make sure she showers beforehand," Baily said with a straight face.
"You're a hell of a woman, Baily Bale." Pat said before cracking up. "so seriously... We got food, movies, and each other. What do you want to do?"
"I was hoping you at some point," she said with a grin. "Suppose we should eat first and make sure that we have the energy for the rest?"
"Well. I aaaaaam in the mood to... eat." He said with a tone that suggested the food and movies were about to go untouched.
She laughed. "I meant something with real calories," she pointed out, hopping up off his lap. "You know, like the Chinese that you brought?"
"...I'm saying I wanna give you oral and you're ARGUING?" Pat asked with a snicked, a little indignant.
She laughed. "Hey, it's fun to mess with you," she simply pointed out to him. "Plus, you might need the extra energy for what I want to put you through."
"On a funny yet... COMPLETELY sexy note..." Uh-oh. Come on, he was BOUND to mention this eventually... "Evidently Faith AND her girlfriend want to basically have a big freaking orgy with us... Now I haven't SEEN her girlfriend yet, but I can't imagine Faith would be with someone NOT as hot as her..."
Baily chuckled. She certainly remembered Faith from her days as Ben's girlfriend, plus her torching Ben's old desk when she threw a fit once upon a time. "Is that a suggestion that we take them up on their offer?" she asked playfully. She wasn't even aware that she actually knew (and did) Faith's girlfriend. Funny thing there.
"Not at all. Merely making sure you knew is all. Although GOD it would be hot. And I gotta admit: the thought of you and Faith together is enough to keep me awake at night..."
She just laughed. It was certainly something to at least think over, and maybe one night when she was feeling just that much extra frisky...but she'd let him dangle on the subject. Just for kicks. She grabbed one of the Chinese food boxes and started to dig into what she was pretty sure was some kung pow chicken. "So, where did you get this stuff from?" she asked, indicating that she was speaking of the food.
"That 'China Garden' place down the road from here." He looked at her with a grumble. "I can't believe you're sitting there eating while I wanna demolish you. I'm ready to just grab you at this point."
That just made her laugh. "You don't realize that's part of the fun, right? Making you work for it?" she asked, popping another piece of chicken into her mouth.
"You're evil. Pure and simple. Just sayin'." He grumbled, sighing as he shook his head. "Seriously."
She laughed, setting the food down and rubbing his head. "It's my family's influence. I swear."
"Dammit. Well... I guess I'll have to deal with it." He said, getting up and walking to the cabinet, grabbing a bottle of scotch and two glasses. "Have a few drinks with me?"
"Sure," she said to him with a smile. Once he filled the glasses, she got up and got one from him.
He took the glass, looking at it almost longingly as he filled it, taking a lonnnng sip.
"Enjoying your Scotch lately?" she asked him, eyebrow arched. She had been seeing him drink a lot.
"I wouldn't say 'enjoying' it." He mumbled, forcing a smile. "Don't worry about it."
She sighed, but decided to not push it for now. Let him talk about it in his own time, hopefully. Now, if it kept up, then she'd bring it up. She just hoped that he didn't do anything stupid like try to drive drunk or anything like that.
How the hell could he tell his girlfriend that he couldn't get over his wife? That he felt like nothing could ever truly compare to the love he still felt for her? He couldn't. Thus? Alcohol. "So. How's things been at Avarice? Haven't been there much lately..."
"Things have been fine," she said to him, taking a sip of her own Scotch. "Not much changes from night to night from the DJ booth."
"Things are just AWESOME here." He said sarcastically. "Patience is back..."
That actually caused Baily to start choking on her drink. After a few coughs and sputters, she managed to croak out, "What?"
"She stopped by to see me this afternoon. Told her about us." He said, as suddenly, the scotch he was drinking? Made sense. "Like I said. No big."
Baily looked down at her drink. "I hate sounding like a little bitch or something, but you don't...want to go back to her?" She had to ask. It was the fucking elephant in the room, after all.
"That... doesn't matter anymore." He said, knowing that what he wanted wasn't necessarily what he knew was best for him.
Because hearing that made her feel great. "Well, just know that, one way or another, I'm always here for you, Pat." She wasn't going to go running off every time things got a little hot, and that included now.
"Same here, babe." He said with a forced smile. Because he wasn't the type to go offing himself in depression or anything. Now... drinking himself to death? Hey. If it happened it happened.
