We Get to Find Out Who Jackson Really Is
Who: Baily and Jackson
Where: Avarice
When: Saturday Night, 12/18
Baily sat down at the bar and ordered herself a beer. She had finished with her shift at the DJ booth, but it was only midnight, so she had a few hours before the bar closed down and kicked her out. Pat was busy tonight with some band stuff, so she wouldn't be meeting him until he called her cellphone to tell her that he was done. So, she was going to unwind the best way that she knew how, by sipping a beer and enjoying music.
With Solana doing her own thing tonight, the man known to most only as Jackson strolled into Avarice. Knowing now that others had ALSO found themselves displaced in time and space, he didn't feel as awkward about being in public now. The tall, muscular blonde gave a boyish, charming grin to the girl behind the bar and made his way over to Baily, taking a beer from the tender. "Good stuff you were playing..." he said, as honestly, he was happy she'd played some of Broken Sunrise's stuff. Call him proud, ok?
Well, she had played it plenty before, but now she also played it because she was dating the lead singer. Couldn't stop herself, OK? She smiled at the guy that said something to her about it. "Thanks," she said to him. "Which stuff you referring to, exactly?"
"Broken Sunrise. I guess you could call me a fan." He said, smirking a little as he ran a hand through his short blonde hair. "I'm Jackson. Nice to meet you." He said, holding out a hand.
"Baily," she said, shaking his hand. "I know the band, so I'm always wanting to promote them when I can." So Baily was technically discrete with her dating life when it was with people she didn't know. Sue her. "Nice to meet you, too."
"So you know the band?" He asked, before recognizing her. In his time? Baily had been a close friend of his family... "Wow... talk about a small world..." he mumbled.
She nodded. "I've...been friends with the lead singer for quite a while, actually." She just naturally wasn't the type to go blabbing, plus this guy could sell stuff to tabloids for all she knew. She didn't need that. This guy looked achingly familiar, though.
He looked around again, before asking her, "Um... does Patience work tonight? I was hoping to get to talk to her..."
Baily made a slight face. "Guess you didn't get the news, huh?" she asked him. This guy might be a cousin of hers or something. They looked a little similar, after all. "I hate being a stranger telling you this, but she took off about a month ago. Left Pat and the baby...and her wedding ring. I'm not sure when or if she's coming back." She sighed. "If you're like, a cousin of hers or something, you may want to talk to her brother or Pat."
"Waitwhat?" He asked, looking clearly concerned. "And... wait... what about Pat? Is he ok? I mean... is... is..." Oh boy. This was NOT how things were supposed to be going!
Baily sighed. "He's...not happy, but he'll be fine." She was helping A LOT with that, but who was she to tell this guy about their sex life, huh?
"Are you sure? I mean... he can be a really private guy... he might not be telling you JUST how bad he's hurting..." ok, he was a LITTLE freaked out now. He knew Patience was Pat's WORLD. He'd never SEEN anyone as in love as they were.
"We hang out A LOT," she said simply. Emphasis on a lot. "I mean, he's not running around singing 'Oh Come All Ye Faithful' or anything...OK, wrong song title, but you get my drift." Freudian slip, shall we?
His eyes widened there. "Oh my god... you... you and Pat?" Yeah, he realized what she meant there. "Is... is that why she left?" He was starting to hyperventilate now, a panic building up in him. "She'd... she'd never just LEAVE him!"
"What?" OK, now she was just confused. "Look, kid. Patience left because she couldn't control her temper tantrums and turned on one of her friends named Iris. Tried to choke her out because she thought she was having an affair with Pat, and Pat's not the type to cheat, much less would he cheat with an ex wife whom he cheated ON. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I did NOT cause Patience to leave. She did it of her own free will." She looked the kid over. "Just who ARE you?"
He was pale as a ghost now, and looked ready to throw up. "She... she wouldn't leave her son..." he mumbled, shaking his head and trying not to fall over.
Baily tiled her head and looked at him for a moment...then it clicked. Good god...not another one! "Wait...CASH?" she finally asked, nearly falling off the bar stool.
He was clearly beyond rational conversation right this moment, and leaned against the bar. "She'd never just leave her baby! She loved him! And Pat! They... this... this isn't possible! You... you're gonna keep them apart!"
OK, definitely Cash here, "Cash, listen to me. Just gonna be blunt here. She couldn't control the demonic part of her. She would fly into these rages, and I think she left because she feared that she'd attack Pat or even you, and she loved the both of you to death." She actually turned him toward her, using her actual strength if he fought it. "Pat and I didn't get together until after Patience was gone. We both kinda thought it was going to be a one time thing...but it just developed into something more. Honey, we don't even know where she went. Ash can't even track her for some reason."
"But... but..." ok, she'd figured out who he was, that much was certain... "This never happened... she... she was there..." he had memories! Of Patience and Pat raising him. Of them still happy even 22 years in the future, where HE was from...
"Apparently there are continuing glitches with the future then, huh?" she asked him. "All I can say is the future isn't set in stone. 'No fate but what you make.' However you want to look at it. How did you even get here?" Baily asked him.
"I..." he paused then, trying to calm himself. "I don't know. I just... sort of APPEARED here one night. From what I gathered... a few others did too. Here and other places. At the same time, from other times and realities. Something must have happened to the timestream..." Ohhhh yes. Like Future!Skylar sending Brandie and a bunch of others through to this time...
"Lovely," Baily said with a sigh. "Look, talk to Pat. Really. You have no real reason to believe me, but it seems like he wouldn't lie to you, right?" She sighed. "Let me buy you a drink, kid. Looks like you need it." Kid, huh? He's about two years older than her, technically, but whatever.
He sunk into a stool then, sighing. He was definitely going to need alcohol, comfort, and love tonight. He hoped Solana was truly there for the long haul, because she was gonna see him in a BAD way tonight. "...ok.... just... gin and tonic?"
Baily nodded to the bartender. "Make it two," she said as she finished her own beer.
