Christmas Time
Who: Ash and Lucy
Where: Their Apartment
When: Christmas Eve
Lucy had picked out some great presents for Ash, and now she was waiting for him to get home. Knowing him, he had probably either put off Christmas shopping until...well, NOW because he had gotten busy training Buffy or just spending time with Lucy, or he had bought his gifts LAST YEAR and was just waiting for the perfect time for giving them out. It really was one extreme or the other with Ash. She had picked out her stuff for him about two weeks ago and decorated their living room all Christmas like, although she had ALREADY eaten all the candy canes. She'd actually had to go and buy more, and was hanging some more on the tree with one sticking out of her mouth while she waited for Ash to get home.
Ash walked in, having actually been out dropping gifts off at the houses of Buffy, Neely, and Pat. Not the type for huge displays of affection, he'd merely left each one at the doorstep, rang the doorbell, and left. Hey, the card left with each gift would say who it was from, so STFU. Walking in, he noted the candy cane in her mouth, and the wide-eyed look on her face, and almsot facepalmed. "Oh no... Lucy? Exactly how many of those have you had?"
She grinned, candy cane still in her mouth. "Well...I ended up eating all the ones I had on the tree, so I had to get more, plus just go ahead and buy a box or two to myself, so...about a dozen or so?" She really had lost count at some point.
"Oh. My. God." He said as he started laughing, knowing that when Lucy was THIS sugared up? Likely things were about to be very sexy, very FUNNY, or maybe a little of both. "Merry Christmas, baby."
"Merry Christmas," she said, leaning over and giving him a quick kiss after pulling the candy cane out of her mouth. "So, what took you so long to get home?"
"I had to drop gifts off for a few people..." He said nonchalantly, as though it was no big deal. "Missed you though... I'd ask what you've been up to, but..." he snickered, "You've already made that apparent."
"Redecorating what I ate off the tree, mostly," she admitted with a smile as she slid her candy cane back into her mouth. "Who'd you drop off gifts to? People like Buffy and such?" He only had a few friends, after all.
"Yeah... Buffy, Neely, and I dropped off a few things for Pat and Cash. As the kid's uncle, I figured it was the least I could do." He tried to act like it wasn't killing him inside, to think about the baby and know Patience was nowhere to be found.
She gave him a slight pout, still with candy cane in her mouth, and reached over and hugged him. She knew that he was at least trying hide his real feelings. "Everything's going to be OK, I promise. Some way or another."
"Yeah, I know. With a gorgeous thing like you in my life, how can it not?" He said, smiling sadly. He missed his sister, badly, but he also knew how lucky he was to have Lucy. "So... you know I don't have much money, but... I got you something."
"I'm not worried about money and you know it," Lucy pointed out to him. She had more money than most good churches, so she could buy and sell people if she were, well...evil. "So? What'd you get me?" Every the child, though.
"Two things. The first is actually right under the couch. You just gotta pull it out from under there..." He said, grinning broadly. It had taken a lot of, well, selling of some his things, but he was happy to do it.
She might throttle him if she knew that he had sold some of his stuff. But she didn't know that, though. Still, when he said what to get and where to get it, she reached under the couch and pulled out a guitar case. When she opened it, she squealed. "Ash! It's gorgeous!" she said, bouncing up and giving him a hug.
He grinned as she opened the star-shaped guitar, and hugged her tightly as she leaped at him. "You're the star that lights my sky, baby. And also? I know you're gonna be a huge superstar. Plus it's pink, and... well... I know you go batshit for anything pink..." he laughed, just glad she loved it. "And the other thing... well... it was tough, but I did it both for you AND for Meredith..." he sighed, rolling his eyes. "Me and Brayden got together and made our peace. We're not gonna talk shit on each other or make either of you feel bad for wanting to see the other anymore."
"Well, that's nice of you," she said, giving him a kiss on the cheek as he said it. "About time the two of you grew up." She snorted. "Especially him. Because let's be honest, he's an awesome singer, but kind of an immature butt."
"True. But... we're alright now. He cares about you, and I'm convinced now that he's NOT trying to have sex with you... so we're ok." He laughed.
"Well, good just the same. I'm pretty sure that Mere was certainly getting tired of it, anyway." She had expressed that opinion a time or two, anyway.
"Well... he told me what he's planning for ehr tonight, and..." He blushed, laughing nervously. "I don't think Mere's gonna be expressing any anger at him for the next few days, if I know her well enough."
"Good for them," Mere said with a smirk. "Maybe we should concentrate on having fun ourselves for the evening instead of worrying some much about what other people are doing for fun then," she said playfully.
"I like that idea..." he said with an evil little grin. "God, we're like bunnies anymore, aren't we?" He asked, blushing a little.
She smiled up at him and simply shrugged. "I don't know...don't worry about it like it's a bad thing," she said jokingly to him.
