Figuring Out Christmas Plan
Who: Baily and Pat
Where: Baily's Apartment
When: Dec. 8th, Evening
Baily wasn't at her apartment much these days. She was either working at Avarice, hanging around Avarice with Pat, or mauling Pat somewhere else. She was actually thinking about moving soon to a smaller place. Of course, Baily and her stuff could fit into a tiny studio apartment. She just wasn't one for material things. She was actually getting ready to meet Pat tonight, since it was her night off. As much as Ben grumbled about her ruining his show, she was still pretty sure that Ben was happy that she was keeping the lead singer of one of his biggest acts happy, and not totally in a selfish way, either. She was standing in front of a steamed up mirror, only wearing a towel, while brushing out her hair when she heard the doorbell ring.
Pat stood out there in jeans, a black polo shirt, and a red bandanna, hands in his pocket as he waited for her to answer the door. He'd been thanking God every night lately for her, as without her, he didn't think he'd be dealing with Patience's leaving well at all.
Once she peaked through the peephole, she grinned and opened the door, standing in front of him still damp from her shower, hair still wet. "Come on in," she said to him, moving so that he could come inside.
"Holy shit." He muttered at seeing her in that towel, as his eyes bugged a little while he walked in. "Suddenly I forgot everything I had to tell you..."
She just laughed, shutting and locking the door behind him. "That's what you get for being so early," she joked. "I'm not ready yet. So, what is up?"
"Right now? ME." He deadpanned, shaking his head. "Anyway... I, um... I know your fam always has a big Christmas bash, but I was wondering if you'd want to spend Christmas Eve and Day with me and Cash."
She actually gave him a smile when he suggested that. "You sure?" she asked him. "I mean, don't want to intrude on Cash's first Christmas or anything like that."
"Considering you kind of saved his daddy from becoming an alcoholic mess, I think he'll be honored once he's old enough to understand." Pat said with a smile, looking at her with a gaze that was part lust, part admiration... and maybe JUST a hint of love?
Her grin got a little bigger. "Guess that means I should get the kiddo something, huh?" Baily was obviously not as used to the familial stuff as some of her cousins were, but damn if she wasn't willing to try right now. "Mind if I see if my sister at least wants to stop by?"
"Which one is she again? No offense, there's just so damn many of you..." He laughed, just staring at her. "But yeah, of course. And... maybe if your family has their party, I could come with you?"
"Bethany, she's...well, I kinda doubt you've actually gotten to meet her. She's still in her teens," Baily told him. "And I think that would be awesome, actually." Hell, who else would she bring with her, really?
"Well, it'd be my pleasure. I mean..." He felt like an ass here, really. He was a burgeoning rock star, with shitloads of money... and here he was, acting like a high schooler. "You're... my girlfriend now, right?"
"Well, fuck, I hope so," Baily said with a slight laugh. She understood the situation that they two of them were going through. He had just come out of a marriage where the wife ran away. Asking about these things was the right thing to do, even if it felt retarded to do so.
"Hey... just making sure, you know? At this stage in the game, I can't really afford to take chances with what I *think*. You know... since obviously my judgment is so impeccable..." He rolled his eyes, trying to make a joke out of it.
She reached over and squeezed his hand. "I'm teasing, but I know what you mean," she told him. "No gray areas in this relationship, OK?" She was fine with things like labels and such for them. Kept things less complicated.
"Alright. Then go and talk to Bethany, see if she'd like to spend either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day with us. Whichever you prefer." He grinned, squeezing her hand. "Because I want ONE of them for just us. Me, you, and Cash. The most important people in my life right now."
